Deerfield Thrift is a family owned business. Owners Loren and Pheona wanted to create a strong bond with their community. They aim to sell afforadable items that everyone can afford and luxury items that are more expensive but that will generate money for charity. They also advocate thrift as a way of recycling keeping items out of the landfill and putting them in the hands of the people who need them. Deerfield Thrift donates to the non profit Deerfield Beach Christian Ministerial Association through the Church of Brotherly Love. Deerfield Thrift sells furniture, clothes, jewelry, collectibles. The store is small but they had some interesting furniture like a bar I really liked. I also liked a lighthouse planter. In addition to the used items they had a room with new mattresses which they will deliver. There are a lot of thrift and consignment stores in this area so it is worth stopping in if you are in the area. Also the nearby Pickle Barrel is an excellent lunch stop.

Had a wonderful experience today at this family owned Thrift!! They have so many beautiful decor and furniture pieces, mattresses, a few clothing items, vintage perfume bottles, vintage wall decor, lamps - etc! I got the most perfect lamp I'd been on the hunt for for months. It's inscribed from 1987 and I'm thrilled it's actually a "vintage" find and not some overpriced modern piece. The gentleman working there was so friendly and even gave me an ice cold bottle of water for my drive home. 10/10 - will be returning!

An item found from Deerfield Thrift!

I love to pop in this thrift shop whenever I'm in town, I always find some cool finds when I'm there. The guy who runs it gave me an awesome deal on some stuff and was so kind and conversational! Love this place.

Lot of fresh dump in here all the time new mattresses $99 I got to always turn it over got to keep checking for new stuff

Nice little store, no clothes though. There is a lot going on in such a small store. Gorgeous unique furniture all around.

Goodwill Industries International was built on a powerful mission: helping people gain employment, build skills, and serve the community with dignity. That purpose is meaningful--and it's why many of us continue to support and shop there. But what we experienced at this location felt far removed from that mission. At checkout, the process was anything but smooth. The associate (recognizable by a retro-style mohawk) was multitasking while a line of customers waited. During our transaction, she walked away mid-checkout while we were trying to complete a valid payment. When questioned, she insisted the option should already be visible--only to later realize she hadn't completed a required step on her end. From a customer standpoint, this came across as dismissive and unnecessarily frustrating. It raises a real question: are customers expected to just wait indefinitely, guess the process, or walk behind the counter and figure it out themselves? ‍ This kind of interaction doesn't align with the values Goodwill was founded on. There's a noticeable gap between the organization's mission and what's being delivered at the store level in 2026. Customer service, attentiveness, and accountability should still be non-negotiable--nonprofit or not. **Key Takeaways for Shoppers:** * Be prepared for possible delays at checkout, even during non-peak times * Double-check your payment process--don't assume staff has completed all steps * If you're on a tight schedule, this may not be a quick stop * Speak up if something feels off--clarity helps avoid longer delays **Key Takeaways for Management:** * Customer engagement matters--acknowledge and prioritize those waiting Complete transactions before stepping away--mid-process exits create confusion Reinforce training around POS systems and accountability Align daily operations with Goodwill's mission not just in hiring, but in service There's real potential here, but it needs attention. If this type of passive-aggressive, inconsistent service continues, it could lead to bigger challenges with customer trust and retention. Bottom line: The mission behind Goodwill is worth supporting but the in-store experience needs to reflect that same level of care and respect. Without improvement, future visits may not justify the frustration... and the next stop might be City Hall.

I thought this was a thrift store--not a consignment shop. I was given the most grief over a TV I wanted to donate. Was it a big TV? Couldn't I get it into my car? I'm on the fifth floor. Didn't I have an elevator? At that point I said, "I can see that you're not interested in helping me, so thank you for your time." She sputtered a little then hung up. I gave the tables to one of the workers in my building who was very happy to get them for her patio--stains and all. As far as my other donations go, (There were more than just the aforementioned TV and end tables.) the Salvation Army will be picking them up on Monday.

I was only in the store a short time and i came out to find someone parked across the back of my car blocking me in. If you can find a way to park and make your way in you will find the store to be small. Even so they had some interesting things, furniture, household goods, and a lot of clothes. Items are clearly marked with prices. It is worth a stop if you are in the area.
