Such a fun event, I definitely would bring some wine next time cause the ladies with us that were drinking were having a blast. We did a resin class and the resin scent is less than others however if you're incredibly sensitive to smells (like me) you might want to bring a mask and glasses (NOTE I was the ONLY person who was effected so it's not the norm!!!) the resin did make my eyes burn slightly like cutting an onion. Jasmin walks your through every step and gives you ideas. You can pick between a cutting board, serving tray, coasters, or a large letter. We chose cutting f boards and you can even have it engraved. It was super fun and easy (Jasmin also makes sure you don't mess up if not she'll help fix it!). This place offers various experiences so you can select what you like and even has a group that meets a few times through the year where they do items that have never been done so it's a new experience for everyone. Such a fun time at PTG! Some of the best therapy is crafting. There's a project to fit everyone's taste! It goes beyond just painting, there's also blanket making classes, which I haven't tried but it sounds super fun. You can tell how much work goes into executing the classes. Everything is well thought out to make you have an enjoyable experience. It's super easy to book a class online, whether private or one of the classes set on the calendar. You pick your craft and your date and upon arrival everything is ready for you. All that's left is to pick your colors and have fun! It's a perfect spot to do a girls day out, date night or a birthday. These cute Halloween crafts were on a special price for $20, well worth the money! I had lots of fun and came home with something I can use in my home. I went with a mom group. So it was a private event. I picked and paid for what I was going to make before I arrived. So they had time to cut the wood and have it ready. They have lots of different things to make. It's pricey but you don't do this all the time. We were able to bring snacks and drinks. I don't suggest bringing too much because your hand will be painting. The owner are very helpful. They come around making sure you have the paints or anything you need for your project. I would recommend going and make it a girls night. You get to bring your finished project home. They do also have projects for kids to make. read more

I finally found a group painting place where I am happy with the results! I have previously tried two different group painting studios, and both times I ended up throwing out the finished product. Paint the Grain's concept is different because you choose a wooden project that you'd like to make, and it is almost impossible to mess it up! They have all different sized signs, large boxes, trays, clocks, (and even some really unique pieces like yoga mat holders, blanket ladders, and lanterns.). It is great concept for a group outing, and you can all work on your individual projects, while bouncing color ideas off each other & socializing.....,just bring snacks and drinks and have a blast! I went with a group of 8 other ladies on a Friday night. I had looked at the website ahead of time, a bit overwhelming because there are so many projects to choose from, and I picked out & paid for a Christmas-themed sign. (It's important to register a few days ahead of time so that the staff can have your wood & stencil ready upon arrival.) The entire process takes 2-3 hours. The toughest part for me was choosing the perfect colors, but luckily the awesome Jasmine was there to help me with my selections. Others in my group made completely different signs, boxes, a two-tired tray, a wooden tic-tac-toe game, and a beer bottle opening caddy. All our projects came out great and everyone had a wonderful time! I can't say enough about the entire process and expertise and patience of Jasmine. This is such an awesome place to go to. The vibe is amazing and everyone is always ready to help. I love how for the summer on Fridays they had a kids paint time where they could do a project for just $10. The kids had a blast and it let them express their creativity. I had the chance to do a Star Wars piece that Jasmine was so awesome to make for me to do. I love the fact she used to be a teacher and will continue to support her. I went by myself and people were wanting to get to know me and talking about each others projects. This is a must try place!!! My mom and I went there to make the chunky blanket and had such a great time. From when you walk in, the owner is very inviting and sweet. She has a calendar up of upcoming events and different samples of past projects. After we checked in, we got to pick out 5 different colors of chunky yarn. After everyone picked out the colors and set up the pattern it was time to learn. Everything was done with your hands which was so cool. After about 2 hours our blankets were complete. I made a baby blanket with tighter stitches, and my mom made hers a little more loose. The blankets were so soft and came out gorgeous. read more

Alright ladies! I'm really pumped up about writing this review. About a month ago I scored a free pass to "paint" at a painting studio for a Mom's Night Out. I was so excited, as it was my first time ever attempting a "craft" as a social activity. Well, it didn't take long for me to realize what I thought would be a boozy fun artistic outing was actually a two hour long session of work that resulted in a fugly painting that even my kid can admit is really not great. Enter "Paint the Grain Studio!" When a mom friend suggested it for a night out I was pretty nervous initially because of the fail of the prior one. However, I am SOOOO HAPPY that I decided to give this place a shot. Long story short- I drank and made a piece of art that my husband will very gladly let me hang in our living room! Jasmine is a fabulous host, and she has converted her garage into the CUTEST studio. We had such a great experience with PTG! I hosted a birthday event at my house two weeks ago and everyone loved the entire experience. Booking and planning the event was very easy, Jasmine and I communicated via email and she was always quick to reply if i had any questions or concerns. They brought and setup all of their own supplies needed for the painting and it really made the party look so fun and creative. During the event she provided group and one on one instruction and checked on everyone as needed to ensure everyone was satisfied with their end result. The process involves using stencils/templates (not freehand unless you want it to be) so everyone's design turned out looking amazing and professionally done. They can do custom designs if you request it! We loved the entire experience and will definitely be booking another event in the future! read more
