Meanwhile, Cynthia's is a great store, she sells lots of different sewing, embroidery and quilting machines. Cynthia is extemely knowledgeable about soooo many things. Not many fabric stores around anymore, but she has switched over to carrying a lot of quilt fabrics. I also take my Pfaff sewing machines there to be serviced as there are no other Pfaff repair places close by. The fabrics and machines are very fairly priced. You cannot compare her store for pricing to a Wal-mart, JoAnne Fabrics (they went under), etc. She sells first run fabrics at a reasonable price. read more

After conquering Crochet and painting I am now looking to start Sewing and quilting. I stumbled in to this very nice business. Full of fine cloths of all the colors you could desire , and a million colors of Threads, and the very nice Baby Luck Joy fine artistic Sewing Machines, I was very impressed. Carol was very nice to show me around and gave great advice on how to start my Sewing journey. After visiting both of the nearby "big box" type stores looking for a specific fabric we thought was fairly common, we called Cynthia's. It was Labor Day, she wasn't open but still answered the phone. She knew exactly what we were looking for and gave us the details of every color and type she had in the store! We were there first thing Tuesday, got what we needed! The store is set up super nice. They do sewing classes there! You don't see that anywhere anymore! I might just go back for a few classes and get out my machine! Forget the big box stored, support local! Go to Cynthia's! read more

I went to buy some fabric here for a project I was doing. They have a great selection of fabrics and accessories. There are so many cute buttons, laces, and zippers. They also have little preassembled kits that I thought were such a cute idea. There prices were also very reasonable and the Theirstaff was very friendly. I would definitely come again. read more

Small mom and pops fabric store on University Drive off of Southgate Boulevard. I always see it when I drive by, and because I am now starting to sew, I wanted to see what fabrics they carry in comparison to larger stores such as Joannes fabric. I wasn't disappointed. The Store is very small and a little bit crowded. The front of the store is dedicated to sewing machines, and let me tell you, they carry some amazing ones. A bit too expensive for me with my current my skill level, but hopefully someday I will be able to use one of those puppies. The person in charge, I presume was the owner, was very, very nice. Another woman came in with me , who wasn't a customer, she just wanted to ask for directions, and he actually googled the place for the woman since she did not have the address on her. He drew a map and gave her a phone number and told her to call in case she got lost. I mean if that's not customer service I don't know what is! To me, the actual customer, he told me where everything was, and asked me if I it was my first time there, and offered to give me a cup and a pen as a welcome gift. Even if I didn't purchase anything. He also showed me the specials they were running, which were pretty amazing . 50% off knit fabric , which is exactly what I was looking for. Score one for me!! I also saw some pretty amazing silks, which were also 50% off, but being that they are more pricey, I didn't feel comfortable buying any of them because of my skill level. But now I know where they are, so I will be back for them when I feel ready to tackle silks! Overall prices without any sales are very competitive . If you know anything about fabrics, and how much they run for, you will see that they are not overpriced . Great little place! Cynthia's fabric is a small boutique fabric store with helpful employee. I went there for the first time during COVID-19. They were amazing, helpful. I met Cynthia, who was on the sales area assisting customers, and she was a wealth of information. I have since made that one of my go to store. I am waiting to find out when they are going to start up classes so I can expand on my new found passion. Want that service with the personal, socially distance touch? This is an amazing store! They are very knowledgeable! They have so much quality fabrics to choose from and many sewing and quilting machines also. This was my first time in the store, and it will be my last. At least 4 employees onsite and I wandered around for several minutes waiting for assistance. Finally I was asked if I needed help. After explaining my needs, I was told to "go through the tenant pile"...... I spend about 10 minutes going through the small pile of remnant fabric and finally found something usable. After getting to the counter it took another several minutes for someone to come ring me out. Rude, no eye contact and just plain poor customer service. Apparently if they don't know you...... then you aren't worth their time. I will spend money elsewhere. read more

It is such a breath of fresh air to meet such helpful and knowledgeable staff in a sewing machine store. I did not buy my machine here (it's quite old); however, that does not stop the employees from giving me the same kind of thorough service that they give any of their other customers who have bought their Babylock or Pfaff machines at Cynthia's. Believe me, I have been to other stores who represent other brands and the owners can be downright rude if you come in with a different brand machine or one that wasn't purchased at their store. Cynthia will help you no matter what. And, if you end up waiting a bit to talk with her, don't worry...you'll get the same individual treatment you deserve. I look forward to coming here more often. I have passed Cynthia's Fine Fabrics for years and stopped in last year. The people were helpful and the shop is well stocked with beautiful high-quality fabric. I went back for their Super Bowl sale and just loved everyone there. So helpful and willing to let me look at everything as long as I needed to. I brought the quilt squares I needed to match and took over the classroom (not in use) to lay out my stuff. I found the perfect background, as well as some other fabrics to add to my stash, and bought it. The next day I received a call saying they have two squares and they think they are mine. They made the time and energy to go into the records to find out who the new shopper is that took over their classroom for an hour and to call me! I am so impressed that they did this rather than waiting for me to realize I was as missing 2 squares and have to go track them down. Thank you Cynthia's, and Dori, for taking care of customers so well. It's good to know service has not entirely died in South Florida. You have a new devoted customer. read more

Most fabric stores have friendly helpful staff but Cynthia's is far above average. She, herself, is a generous, kind, caring person and her staff are equally helpful, knowledgeable and kind. I recently was the winner for the Row by Row Experience and was gifted generously with beautiful fabrics, an embroidered certificate and treated so well. Her block is beautiful and so fun to make. Wonderful shop! The staff here is fantastic! I highly recommend this shop to everyone! I had taken my Brother sewing machine to another shop for repair and was told that they were unable to fix my piece of garbage machine. I was not happy with the way that shop treated me, so I decided to try another shop. I am so happy that I did! Love this place! I rarely give out five stars but this store, it's owner, her employees and products deserve it! The owner, Cynthia was so knowledgable and friendly. She was a joy to learn from and buy from! Not only did I buy a machine but she gave me valuable information on a embroidery machine I did not buy from her. She went out of her way to help me. My wife was browsing the store and was approached by several staff members asking if they could help her. Really impressed with everyone working there. I can barely call this a fabric store. It's so tiny that there is hardly room for anything and a lot of the space is taken up with sewing machines. Yes, there are a few fabrics, but we found them to be higher priced than other places in the area. read more

I recently found this fabric store online and purchased about 100$ worth of swimsuit fabric. I chose them over a corporate store because I like to support small businesses. At that point I had a good experience until my sewing machine threader broke. I called when they first opened and asked if I could bring it in. They said yes the technician is here or the owner could take a quick look. The owner came over and told me to come back during the week and she will look at for free. She told me to call first and to come in on Wednesday because she was busy. I work full time and go to night school and only have the weekends for free time. I tried to explain and she did not care. Love this place! The owner and the staff are incredible, friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone that works in the store goes out of their way to be helpful. The best customer service i have experienced in a sewing/machine store. I am so happy I found this store! I've read other comments about the price of fabric and i think its comparable, minus the option for coupons. With that said, if you join the sewing club you receive 10% off your total purchase, every purchase. Also, the selection of fabric may not be on the scale of Jo-Anns, but it's not a tiny selection with items you could never find at Jo-Anns. I shop at Cynthia's Fine Fabrics frequently. The store has grown and so has the fabric and notions selection. Cynthia's fabrics are top quality and well worth the cost over inferior quality fabrics found elsewhere. If I'm going to put time into constructing quilts, clothes, home dec, or gifts, I want to use a fabric that will look good after use and laundering. Cynthia is a wonderful teacher and provides many helpful classes for all levels of sewers. It is fun to share a hobby I love with the other women who come to the classes as well. I can highly recommend Cynthia's to anyone seeking quality fabrics and machines...and Cynthia makes sure anyone purchasing a machine from her knows how to use it with her offer of unlimited free owner's classes. Four years ago I traveled to many stores, from south Palm Beach County to just shy of Miami, on the hunt for a new 10 needle embroidery machine. Many shops were not only unfriendly and unprofessional, but had little to no knowledge about the machines they sell. One shop even had the gall, that when asked what lessons and support came with the machine, to say that they do not offer any lessons, but that I could reference a lot of videos on YouTube LOL. After walking into Cynthia's Fine Fabrics, I knew I had found the place to purchase my machine. She knew the machine very well and would only let me take it home after I had mastered the basics plus a little more. I have since purchased a serger and a sewing machine along with many classes, fabrics, and odds and ends from Cynthia. I have always been treated with respect and professionalism while in the shop. I feel she carries fabulous fancy fabrics, laces, and trims in her shop. If you need a certain fabric or item she is always willing to order it for you, unlike many big box stores. The prices are in line with fabrics of this quality. It is worth it to me to buy from someone that is willing to help with questions rather than to just ask what yardage you want. read more

I came to Cynthia's Fine Fabrics with a Pfaff 2144 in need of service. The problem was quickly diagnosed and repaired. Prices for repair and maintenance are competitive. The staff and technician were knowledgeable and helpful. For those who own the older Pfaff 2100 series, this shop has a good selection of accessories, presser feet and embroidery cards at great prices.
