i called again 3 days later after they said they would call me at 3pm on friday. never got a call back and this time a lady on the phone said she had the tracking number and that she'll text it to my phone number. i asked her to give it to me over the phone and she had every excuse in the world and she put me on hold then hung up. i tried to call back but they blocked my number. i called from another phone and they game me a tracking number that didn't exist and didn't answer why they blocked my number. worst experience ever! if i could rate this a negative 10 i would. read more

Came here for the first time the other night and it was such a fun experience! This place is for anyone of any age too! You choose any ceramic you want. The smaller the ceramic, the cheaper. The larger the ceramic, the more pricy it is. There is a good amount of ceramic pieces to choose from, I just wish there were a bit more. After you choose your ceramic piece, you fill out a form of which colors you'd like to start off with. You start with 5 colors, but it's okay to choose more or less. We had about 2.5 hours to paint our pieces, which was a good amount of time. But if you choose a more detailed piece to paint, then it may take longer. Choose wisely but have fun! After you finish painting, you leave your piece there to dry and they finish it off by putting it in the oven and leaving it with a nice, shiny gloss! In a week, the pieces are all set to pick up! Overall, I had a great experience and would like to come here again. This is the place to go if you are in the mood for disappointment. I came here with my boyfriend about 2 weeks ago for a cute date to make matching pieces. We leave our work there to be glazed, and try to contain our excitement for the week that it would take to be ready. Upon finally picking it up, we open ours together and to my surprise, my mug has disgusting bubbles all around it, ruining my design that I spent hours on, random pink spots even though the only colors we used were purple and green, and a disgusting ceramic feeling all around the mug like an unfinished piece. We then bring it to the workers attention, and they offer to reglaze the piece to see if it would fix the mistakes that they made. After the second glaze, the piece is even worse, the worker even telling me so herself, and only offering that I come by and repaint the mug that I had spent an hour on. And then upon speaking with the manager, was basically yelled at by a nervous man who knew no customer service, when he asked "What was my problem" after not liking a mug that they ruined. Save your money and your time as this establishment has no clue what they're doing. read more

I have been a customer of this color me mine for years. Today I came in to celebrate my little cousins birthday. I had the WORST customer service experience with the store manager, Candy. We came with a large group of adults with kids and she demanded that only one adult could stay inside with our kids. I hope the owners of this franchise know that they lost a whole bunch of business due to the fact that their general manager was extremely rude and unaccommodating towards our large group that would have paid EXTRA! to stay with our kids. The staff needs a definite attitude adjustment and a hard lesson of understanding that the customer is always right. Shame on you color me mine for allowing such behavior in your store. I visited this location on 3/12/2023 I painted a ceramic I was told that it takes 7 days to cure. I payed shipping to be sent to NY. It is now 3 weeks and I have not received anything. I been calling and no one seems to be able to help me. One person told he was going to check and call me back a over a week now and nothing. I cannot leave messages and when texting no response. Very disappointed with the customer service. This is bad business. I paid for a service and feel that I'm being ignored. On 4/6 I finally got a message saying that the item has been shipped on that date today is 4/17 and I have yet to receive the package. This has been a terrible experience, I don't know how can someone run a business with this lack of professionalism. Very disappointed. read more

This is an expensive hobby. The only reason I came here was because I found a groupon (pay $16 for $30 of goods/services). This is my 3rd experience at the Color Me Mine franchise. The last time was in 2007, and prior to that when I was 10 yo when a relative treated me to the experience. I love the whole paint-your-own pottery thing but the cost definitely keeps me from doing this as often as I'd like. I made a reservation and had a table waiting for me when I showed up. There were walk-ins, but if you have a large party or know for sure you want to paint, I would suggest making a reservation. This is definitely a spot for kids and families. I was not satisfied with the pottery selection. The items were kitchenware (plates and cups) or large figurines. Not to mention all the pieces were $20+++. What happened to all the single digit priced items? The cheapest thing I saw was a small grenade looking bowl that was marked down to $6. I was really looking forward to painting a coaster (for hot dishes) but they didn't even sell the most basic tile ceramic. Ok, I take it back, they did have tiles for $9 but you could only use them for the glass crafts. It was a struggle to pick something I was interested to paint and eventually settled on a $24 bowl. We'll see how it turns out post glaze. In summary: + polite service + unsatisfied with pottery selection (they said it changes weekly) + expensive + pay for parking in the structure. This place does Not validate. I will probably do this again, in another 5-10 years. I will def look for a groupon beforehand. EDIT: Just picked up my piece. So sad there's a smudge on it. read more

Went here as a first date and it was absolutely fabulous! It was the cutest idea to have a first date in, the environment is so relaxed and interactive. The employees are welcoming and informative. They let you do your thing and give you your space. They have a wide variety of selections to choose from. From cups to plates to jewelry cases and Disney characters! Great for kids, teens, adults, first dates, girls night out, bonding time, anything you can think of! This is a place where you paint your own ceramic piece, and then it gets baked to make the colors shiny and long-lasting. (Sorry, I don't know the technical words). Its in Sunset place, but its never too crowded so that's good. I'm giving in a three because its INCREDIBLY OVERPRICED! The cheapest thing is a regular sized coaster for $18! Yes, the pieces are to die for. But this isn't an everyday thing. I'd be as drastic as saying, just go for a special occasion. I wanted to get my sister something super special for her birthday so I bought a fat little chef cookie jar. It was about 10 inches tall and cost me $40 dollars. Each piece, regardless of size, comes with 5 refillable colors. They have plenty to chose from but I chose the primaries, black and peach(because I was making a Caucasian chef). There is also a sitting fee??!! The staff was helpful and the place was very clean and tidy. Your piece gets baked after you leave. You have to come back another day. After my piece was ready, the staff held it for a long time because I didn't have time to swing by the mall. This was fun but its such a shame that they overcharge so much. It makes it impossible to revisit as often as one would like. So basically, if you like art and you have $$ then knock yourself out. If you like art and you're broke, go on a special occasion. read more

I brought my granddaughter to this place because it was highly recommended by a friend. It was actually a very good experience for granddaughter, and we were looking forward to seeing her finished piece after it was glazed. Because we traveled quite a way to get to the South Miami location, I was told that rather than coming back, I could pay to have it delivered - which I did. It has been almost 6 weeks since our visit, and I have not received the glazed pottery piece. I have called almost on a daily basis, and the phone voice mailbox is usually full, and taking no messages. So when I was able to get through a couple of times I left a message, and no one has returned my phone calls. I've called the store during business hours and managed to get through a couple of times to the workers in the store. They promised to check with "the lady that does their mailings" And get back to me. As usual, I received no return phone calls. I then resorted to sending an email to: colormemine@colormemine.com, and even included photos that I took during our visit. I received one response asking me which location I visited; but I never heard from anyone again. The last time I called, they promised to have a "Felicity" call me back. It has been three days, and I am still waiting for the call. It is unfortunate that I'm having this experience, because myGranddaughter actually enjoyed the visit very much. It is word of mouth that can make or break a business, so I am hopeful they don't want to get a reputation of not following through with their customers.... read more

SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!!!! I went with some friends to Color Me Mine a couple of weeks ago. The location is great and parking is just next to the store! The studio has lots of tables, chairs, decoration and tools to help you get creative and inspired. They have hundreds and hundreds of ceramic pieces to choose from and you can take as much as time as you need to do so, there is absolutely no pressure. Staff was fantastic! They helped us through the entire process and even took the time to teach us how to use all of the different brushes they have in order to add texture and effects. They called me as soon as my piece was ready (one week before it was supposed to!!!!) - I'm definitely coming back soon, really soon! read more

What a fun little way to spend a weeknight or a rainy weekend afternoon! Went here for a work function earlier this week and had a great time. The workers were very attentive and kind and set up the tables very nicely for our event. For those of you that don't know, Color Me Mine allows you to select your own piece of pottery/clay figurine to paint and decorate. The store then glazes the pottery for you and calls you to pick it up once the glazing process is complete. Be forewarned - you WILL actually paint these pieces yourself, and there is no paint by number. I will say that even though the staff was attentive, they did not provide instruction as to HOW to paint the items. I saw a lot of tools in front of me (sponges, brushes, water, etc.), but wasn't really sure how to use them properly since there was no explanation. Resulted to channeling my 5 year-old self and just painting haphazardly onto my espresso cup. Haven't gotten my cup back yet, but for those of you who have seen my kindergarten art before -- please pray for me. Overall it is a very fun atmosphere and something I would definitely recommend for a work or school function; the painting is easy enough that even children (probably 8+) could participate. As we went with a corporate event, I am not sure of the pricing; however, based on what I've heard from others, some of the pieces can be a bit pricey. This review is long overdue! We moved here in February and we have now been here over 12 times. David and Sandra are both AMAZING and take wonderful care of my 7-year old daughter and me! They offer great painting tips and make us feel so welcome. We tried one of the kids classes too and that was fabulous as well. I can't say enough good things about this place. Basically, you go and pick out your piece and pick out your colors. The tables are set up with all different shapes and sizes of paintbrushes and a couple of sponges. There is also a rack full of different tools and stamps to choose from. David has taught us how to make the perfect polka dots, flowers, and eye balls. You get the best colors after firing if you put on a couple of coats. The paint dries quickly so it does not take long. After you are done painting, you leave the piece for a couple of days so they can fire it. Our pieces have always been done in less than one week except for a specialty piece that my daughter created during a kids class and that took less than two weeks. There are so many pieces to choose from and they are always getting new ones.My daughter is already planning her 8th birthday to be here. This week we started painting our Christmas presents! Today we did a plate with my daughter's handprint, polka dots and writing. Both David and Sandra were on hand to help get the perfect handprint and ensure we had all the tools we needed. They won't actually paint on your pieces, but you have a paper table cloth to practice their tips on before actually painting. And if you make a mistake, it is very easy to fix. This is a great place for mommy/daughter or daddy/daughter bonding time. We have seen little boys loving it too. It is also great for my daughter to paint while I catch up with a friend. And it is PERFECT for a rainy day! It makes people have joy inside. (My daughter just had to add that last piece of important information!) read more

The pieces turned out great! It's pricey, but fun. Only downside is that once you paint the pieces, you have to come back in a week to pick them up. That's inconvenient considering I live in Homestead and this location is in Sunset. I went there last week with my 1.5 year-old daughter. We had a really great time and she really enjoyed it. However, for the price, it was quite a short activity. This, I'm sure, is largely due to her age. It is better for older children. After 5 minutes of glazing a mug she was done. So we then proceeded to decorate the paper on the table with glazes as a "added bonus". But still, even with this, it was a fairly short activity given the price. I came here last Saturday with my little cousin and we had an amazing time! The location is prefect honestly never crowded not compared to some of their other locations. Yes it is a bit overall priced but worth it to at least do it once in a while. I love the options of being able to pick your own piece and have refillable colors to choice from and they have a several colors to choose from.
