Everyone should try going to an OCISLY ceramics events, even if you think you are not artistic! At the very least, I promise you will meet new friends and enjoy a night contributing to Miami's beautiful art community. Cristina is so patient explaining how pottery works and encourages you to be playful with what you create. Adam is also very helpful offering any advice, together they make a great team. The attention to detail does not go unnoticed, and they make everyone feel welcomed (this is very important because I understand it can be scary/intimidating to try new things! they put any fears to ease) Luckily I had the opportunity to glaze a few of my pieces, which is worth the money! I was so pleasantly surprised how quickly my pottery was fired, considering how long the process can take from start to finish. I have been to multiple OCISLY events, but one of my favorite memories was crafting matching swan coffee mugs with my partner. It was so fun to do side-by-side while surrounded by creative energy and good vibes. We cherish these mugs and pull them out often smiling at the subtle unique imperfections that make each one beautiful. Thank you to OCISLY for an amazing memory that will last for years & years. We attended one of their clay pop up events. This is something nice and different to do than just going out to a regular restaurant and eat. My only complaint is that for $50/per person I was expecting more from the instructor. She interacted with us at the beginning and gave us a quick run down on the materials, after that we barely spoke to her. Instead she spent majority of the class on the phone in a corner of the restaurant's court yard. She would eventually do her rounds and have small talk and give suggestions. Food and drinks were not included for $50/pp (which we knew already) so we were expecting some kind of service and engagement. It just felt like we could've bought the clay ourselves and showed up to the restaurant - ordered our food, paid less, and had the same experience, read more

Had the pleasure of attending Ocisly's Holiday Workshop at Hoy Como Ayer with two girlfriends! It was so much fun. The ticket came with a beverage and a fun crafty night out! My friend and I booked a Saturday class on a whim, just looking to do something different and fun. From Instagram, this seemed like a cute little spot. We had such a fun experience learning a new activity together. Our teacher, Liz, was so helpful and patient with us as we all were beginners. I wish I had the chance to snap a photo but my hands were too occupied having the best time ever! Christina has created such a beautiful space for people to tap into their creative selves. The pop up events at RUKA are a vibe in every sense of the word. She really encourages people to let go of their want/need for perfection and just create! Imagine stepping foot in to the most welcoming oasis in wynwood where creativity comes to life and ceramic making reigns king. I have now attended two classes here and have seen how much the school has grown/evolved over the last year or so. Impressive! Love everything about it! The house is the cutest, the hosts are so genuine and nice, helpful, patient.. they have such great energy; you'll feel at peace being there. The class was great. Loved it. And like everyone else- it falls apart at the pick up process- which is 6-8 weeks later. I never received the pick-up emails they sent. I am not saying I don't believe they sent them, but I didn't receive them. When I remembered the pottery I reached out, and was told they tried to reach me, and couldn't, and "repurposed" our pots. Tossed them? Disappointed. They offered 25% off another class. Just didn't feel like that was enough. They could have called, or reached out via DM, as that is how we chatted prior. Or, kept them. They said I should be happy about the two hour experience. But if you go to a jewelry class, you want to come home with jewelry- and same goes for this. read more

I didn't know what to expect. I went there with my coworkers. We were a group of 10. I really enjoyed the experience. This made me want to do more and create more pieces. I enjoyed my class with Deb Nascimento, but before I left, we had a brief conversation about how the process would work for my friends and me to receive our ceramics since we were from out of town. She gave us the assurance that OCISLY could make that happen and that it would be mailed to us, but that it would take 4-5 weeks. I repeatedly wrote and messaged OCISLY about the issue on Instagram, but I NEVER got a response regarding how to resolve it. This was very unprofessional and disappointing to know that my friends and I spent almost $200 only to never see our finished artwork. read more

The class itself was fun. However, I can't say the same for the pick up process. After you make your pieces, you leave them to bake and have to go back a few weeks later to pick them up. When it was time to pick up our pieces, OCISLY wasn't very responsive. They have a schedule for pick up days and ask for you to let them know when you're on the way. I messaged them in the morning to let them know I'd be going by that day. Then I messaged them again when I was on my way. When I got there, the person in charge was not there and not answering the phone. Someone else came to assist as best he could - he was nice but had no idea what was going on. We ended up having to find our bags ourselves. As we open the bag, we noticed only two of our pieces were there. We left a note for the person in charge to look for the rest of our stuff and still haven't heard back. I've followed up several times and have been completely ghosted. This isn't very good service, and definitely not what I was expecting, especially when we paid $140. It sucks because the experience was so nice.. but the whole experience afterwards has been horrible. read more
