The AC is strong so bring a sweater, and come comfy. They charge $10 per painter and they have a variety of options ranging anywhere from $20-$65+. Each ceramic has a sticker under with the price for you to pick from. Once you decide you fill out a form with your info to pay at the end, it will take about two weeks until you hear back from Color Me Mine to give the studio enough time to fire your creation. They charge each painter $8 and then you pick what type of ceramic design that you want to paint and each has its own price. May take one hour to several hours to complete your artwork masterpiece. There were several patrons painting at a few tables and appeared to be having fun. The best news is you can bring in your own beer. After you complete your item it may take about three weeks to finish in the kiln then you get notified by staff to pick up you piece. They close at 8pm on Saturday nights. So there I was, playing paint detective, leaving my 4 year old behind to go scavenge for the color we needed. I had to do this *multiple times.* Honestly, staff, where are you?! Is there no glaze patrol? Let's get some rules down or maybe bigger paint wells so we're not all awkwardly refilling every 2 minutes like we're rationing out soup. **Bottom line:** Despite the great glaze scavenger hunt, we had a blast. Fun was had, pottery was painted, and wallets were...lightened. Would we do it again? Absolutely--but maybe with a set of walkie-talkies for future glaze recon missions. Recently went out to eat and saw this place & knew I wanted to visit! We came in Saturday around 6:30 & it was quite busy. It's a great place for a date or fun with your kids or friends. It was out first time coming and the experience was not as smooth as it could have been hence the 3 star rating. We were given a table inside (they also have seating outside). And you pick the piece you want to paint. At the table there is a tray to put your paint on & a color chart to show what the color will look like once it is finished and then that was it. We sat there for about 5 minutes lost of what to do. Eventually after the 5 minutes I got up and asked what to do, we were then instructed we go get our paint and brushes and then sit down and start painting. When looking around I noticed everyone had bowls of water so I looked around to see if there was an area to get it and couldn't find it. Again I ask the girl again for help and she brought us a bowl of water. Once we actually started painting it was a lot of fun we got to paint 2 mugs that were $22 each. We were there until it closed. Once we went to check out we were informed that we should of been given a sheet to fill out our information and was never explained how it works. We found out at the end what should of been told in the beginning which is there's an $8 fee per painter and the charge of the piece you pick and filling out the form and once the piece is finished they text you to pick it up. My first visit was for my birthday so I took the family out, we had such a wonderful time we came back the next day. Then I came back twice alone In the same week, that's how much I love this place.The studio itself is not big, but the atmosphere and the vibes are good, The employees omg are amazing!! Came in here for a date night - and had a blast! Basically, you can come here and paint your own ceramic piece. It's super fun for adults - or if you are looking for something to do with the kids to kill a few hours. Funny enough, Color Me Mine was the first place I ever worked. Back in the day they had one in Coconut Grove and I worked there for a few years after high school. Some of my fondest memories happened there - I worked with 2 of my closest friends to this day. We used to get into all sorts of trouble, meet famous people all the time, and open the store up after-hours for our friends. Anyways, enough about that as I'm starting to incriminate myself.....and on to the Davie location. When we walked in, I was a little disappointed they didn't explain anything. No direction on how to paint, how the fees work, etc. Luckily I remembered you had to give the piece multiple coats for it to come out solid - and I knew it would take a few days for the pieces to be ready, but if someone was a first timer, this could have been an issue. First you choose the piece you want to paint. This is a flat rate for that piece. The bulk of the stuff is in the 20s range. That includes mugs, bowls, plates and various trinkets. I went with a bowl, however, I wish I had gone with the gnome. All good, I'll just have to come back to paint David. After choosing your piece you can chose your colors. You get a little tray to squeeze your paints onto - and on the chart you can see what they look like with 1, 2 or 3 coats of paint. There's a flat rate for painting, per person. It was a quiet evening, and the chill playlist was great to paint to. Making it even better, was the beers I brought..... YES...You are welcome to bring your own snacks and dranks...I know right?! We had a couple of beers and ciders, cheeses and cold cuts. A little painting, a little sipping, a little nibbling. The time flew by! Getting your pieces back takes about a week +. They said they wouldn't call when they were ready which I thought was SUPER strange. They actually ended up texting me when the pieces were ready. Overall it's a pricy date, but super unique. I love this kind of date night, this source for decompression and I love it for gift ideas and treating someone special for their birthday. I've painted an oil burner for my aunt as a Christmas gift and painted a watering "can" for my mom as a Valentine's day gift. Tools are all provided for you. I've used a sea sponge to not only give that spotting texture to it but to make it easier to paint a big piece. The brushes are aplenty, there is fresh water at each table to dip brushes in between. And they also have tape to make clean cut lines. The pieces are displayed on shelves labeled in categories such as "kitchenware", "seasonal", "kids", ect. After you're done with your masterpiece, leave it on the table, dirty brushes, napkins,everything else and they will clean up after you. They not only have solid color paint but speckled paint. Don't forget to make 3 layers of your paint so brush strokes are not seen! The reason why I give a 4 star rating rather than 5 due to the high prices of the pieces+a $8 studio fee for adults and $6 for kids. It includes the firing of the kin of course but I still feel its much. Also, the place is rather small,to get to the paints to refill my palette there is always someone blocking the walkway or I have to squeeze in between the tables and chairs making sure I don't knock anything over or anyone mess up while they paint. I had awful experience and will not be going there again. I went in with a group of my friends when we told the lady at the front we want to do the take home painting she replied with a loud sigh and eye roll. I should have walk out then and there. Would she rather take 10 minutes out of her actual job to help us out and we get out or we paint then and there with a half hour left to closing and possibly going pass closing with added the clean up time? The place smelled like hamster bedding and with the warm temperature inside was a disgusting feeling. The worker precedes to only talk to one person of the group about instructions, doesn't make eye contact or even turn her body towards the rest of the group to info us about this process. The place was tight. You had to maneuver with a body width between precious ceramics and people on the other side trying to paint. When we actually picked out our pieces, it was over priced stuff from China. My friend got a note book to write down the paint number and my boyfriend and I got handed a paper towel and sharpie... then her coworker told us to just write on the plastic cups which at least someone help us out. I mistakenly tried to pour the color in the cups that was given to me but was told that they do it... okay that's fine but if I was actually told how to do it properly that won't have happened. Never told me not to pour the paint. But people were pouring their own paint in house, so much to my confusion. If I were you don't go to this place. It's overpriced and you will receive poor customer service. It's a small jam packed place with limited color selection and no air dryer to dry the layers. You have to painstakingly wait for the layer to dry and you need 3 coats of each color to maximize pigmentation. read more

We took our 2.5 year old Granddaughters today at 11:00 to make a Mother's Day present for their Mom. It got busy very quickly. The lady who was working was so nice and helpful even though she was very busy answering questions and helping people. I was there in Early August for a family experience and i was shocked by the prices of your pieces and the fact that your Davie store did not have any smaller pieces since I was told were for parties only and i had my 2- 2 year old kids do a 37 and 41 dollars a piece each because you did not have anything smaller. I wasn't pleased but did it since my kids were already there. Then I was told it will take 2-3 weeks to get the pieces back which and still nothing. 4 weeks after I decided to call your store today and was told 'Oh yeah pieces are done' when I asked why wasn't I contacted they told me sometimes the text does not go thru. Not only was an expensive but the fact that took so long was very dissatisfied with your service. A few days ago we got together with my sister and her family, for a family-fun-night. When your children are past the indoor play ground years, but not quite teenagers yet, there isn't much of a selection available for a fun night out. We, however, made a smart choice and opted for going to Davie to paint ceramics. To our good fortune, this Color Me Mine franchise withstood the economic test of time when others shut down, and business is booming with many weekly and weekend activities to choose from. Needless to say, we were very happy for them and for ourselves! :) Well...picking some nice pieces, we scooted in and around a large birthday party and began to let our creativity flow! Although there were only two attendants and the place is a little tight for comfort on a Saturday night, we had such a delightful, bonding and relaxing time that we didn't even notice (hehe). Maria was a total darling; helping each of us with color choices, answering all of our many questions, and even assisting with scraping out our smears and smudges. They don't skimp here-- there is an ample supply of paint and brushes-- not to mention pottery. My only suggestion would be that they add a couple more hair dryers, as there was only one, and it made it hard to wait for others when all you wanted was to get right back to your masterpiece! When our work was complete, it was labeled and taken to be placed in line for burning. The girls were eager to take their pieces home, but the wait was all worthwhile when we returned a week later to pick up our ceramics. This is my second review, because the business is not accepting my calls. They never answer and it always goes to voicemail. The Voicemail is always full. Back in December, a group of four of my friends and I went to this location to celebrate our friends birthday.. we were called several weeks later to let us know that our masterpieces were ready to be picked up. One of her friends volunteered to pick up all of ours. When she arrived, she was told that two of our masterpieces could not be located. Since December, we have called numerous times unsuccessfully. We have been told that there will be no refund for the two missing "masterpieces" that we PAID for and created in December. I have never been so appalled at the lack of Customer Service, and have no idea how this place is still in business . Even if they charged a dollar, I would never step foot in that location again. I would have totally understood if they lost the pieces and he just issued a refund. Instead, they avoid our calls, and have no courtesy or respect for their customers. read more

I went here for a group even with kids and we all had a great time. There are a lot of ceramic pieces which you can choose from and design yourself. However since it was a group event, the kids had the pieces preselected, cups, plates, a shoe, a hippo and other small pieces. It was such a calming experience I will definitely go back in the future. The only negative is that, I don't think the staff were that helpful when it came to the kids. My coworkers and I found our self giving the kids instructions on what to do and resupplying them with paint. The place is a bit prices but that is understandable for paint and service. I gave this place two stars because the main artwork that was spend a lot of time on was not properly cared for. They must have tried putting many pieces together which resulted of two of them getting stuck which caused a fragment of the dragon face to be pulled off. They have discounted pieces now! So I guess kids have finally started breaking pieces or they just decided to sell them but horrah! I went in the other week and they have these really big pieces for 30% off the down side they have some cracks in them.. oh no! Oh no? Oh yes! So my sister got this amazing cat the size of an actual cat and while she was painting it the tail fell off (right where they told her it had fallen off and fixed) and ya know what they are going to just fire it right back on! So she's getting the piece she wants for the price she wants and I'm gonna go pick it up! Nice place, ridiculously expensive - $7 sitting fee (which is fine) but the cheapest pottery option is $18. For an afternoon with my young kids it cost me $60. Much more than I wanted to spend. They had no lower cost option. If they had more reasonable prices I would give it 4 stars. read more

This is such a fun place to create. I have been her a few times with various people on various occasions: once with my husband for our anniversary, once with my adult niece and grandma as a Christmas gift, and once with my sister just because. I have always enjoyed myself. I have seen others bring wine for a night of wine and ceramics. The cost is pretty inexpensive: you pay for the unfinished ceramic piece and $8 for anyone over 12 ( this is for use of the paints, painting supplies, firing and clean up). There is no time limit. The staff explains the process to you and says that it is self-serve. I like that I don't have to wait for someone to refill my paint, and I can investigate all the techniques, colors and utensils without someone hovering over me. As for being ready after 5, it DOES say on the receipt that the pieces will be ready after 5. Overall this is a very good value for an art outing. The only thing I would like to see different is to have all regular-sized tables. There are half regular sized tables and half tall bar tables. Also, if you have children- DON'T bring strollers. There is no room- if your child cannot sit at a table then perhaps you should wait until they are old enough to bring them. read more

Im working for a travel agency and we had an autistic child as a client and he liked painting so I thought it might be a good idea trying out color me mine. I called the aventura shop and was told that they dont have any extra rooms. since the kid is very sensitive, it wood eb too much stress for him, so I called Davie and Gorge was very nice and helpful and agreed to give us (5 people) their party room. when we came, everything was great, Jessica greeted us and she was very sweet through the whole stay. we stayed there for ca. 3 hours and it was fun and the kid liked it and it was a great experience! why not five stars, coz I think Tianiee S. is right and they dont give that much attention to the clients and dont teach or advise any technics. but maybe they dont have to...and when we asked they helped us every time and were really nice. still have to pic up the pieces...looking forward!! oh and I also think, that the pieces are quite expensive...something for a special occation, not for every weekend. read more

Literally was turned away 15 min ago. Came all the way from Coral Springs to Davie because it clearly says they are open until 10pm. I called to make sure but I got a recording that said their hours of operation so when I heard they're open till 10 I said perfect! I headed there. I arrived at 8:15pm only to be told that I cannot join because they close at 9 I told the girl that I called and the recording said 10 . She didn't know what to say other than "I'm sorry we're gonna wrap up" so I asked her if I could be really fast, but no luck. I walked out and called the store. I'm guessing the owner answered and I told her I drove from Coral Springs just to do a mug and it's not fair I get turned away when online it says 10 pm is closing. She said "that's google but not on our website" I told her okay?? What about ur recording because no one would answer the phone, it says 10 pm on the recording. This place is neat to take the kids on a rainy day to change up the routine. When you walk in you're greeted by the friendly staff who walks you thru what you will need to do. I saw that they had advertised $2 off the $6 painting fee (the fee to sit there and hold your paint brush basically) if you check in on fb which I gladly did so. The pieces to paint range in price from what you'd pay for a quarter tank of gas to the price of a 94 Honda. You're walking out usually paying a minimum of $30 for painting a small palm sized object. Either way my kid had fun so that's all that mattered there. I would go back again because they gave us some cool coupons to do so.
