The camp was unaccommodating about her medication and treated her like a nuisance. Instead of helping her assimilate, giving her empathy and redirecting her they looked at her behavior as a problem to get rid of. I taught Pre-K for 8 years and know one thing. Every child should be treated as you would treat your own. Her illness sometimes makes her a bit restless and moody to no fault of her own. She is only 6 and deserves to be treated like any other child. Just because kids don't fit into a particular mold doesn't mean you discard of them or don't help them. All I want is for her to enjoy her life beyond her circumstances. The job of teachers is to foster each child's gifts and give them a chance. If not your in the wrong profession.
