I had the most horrible customer service from Noemi, a manager. I tried to exchange an unopened package of loom bands (with a receipt) for a different color. Noemi tells me that she will exchange them, but I will be charged a higher price because they are not on sale anymore. Then Noemi says, "how is this on sale, I know loom bands never go on sale. Wow. So what is she trying to say to me? I've shopped at Michaels for years and have never had a problem until Noemi. I had to call customer service, and they call the store to tell her that I should get the bands at the sale price, to just do an exchange. When I go in the store a different manager comes out (Melissa) and I tell Melissa that I want Noemi to ring up the exchange so she won't do this to another customer and to hopefully get an apology. Noemi only comes up front after she's called twice. Noemi rang up the exchange and said in a really snotty voice 'have a nice day'. So I said 'that's it, no apology for giving me incorrect information and implying that I'm doing something fraudulent'? So she says in a nasty voice, 'Oh yes, I apologize'. Melissa (the other manager) was there the whole time and said nothing unless I addressed her specifically. Michael's has the crappiest, untrained managers I have ever dealt with. How do you have a tag on that says you worked here 16 years, but don't know the policies or how to do an exchange? I did receive great service from Ashley (telephone rep) who stayed with me on the phone through all of this. I wonder how many other people Noemi has ripped off. I'll shop at Joanne's from now on. read more

10 minutes to closing time last night, I was there to buy a $300 crafts printer made by Cricut: on special for $179-ish+Tax... While we are trying to decide what blade to get this tall skinny dude with curly hair and a red vest walks up to my wife and I while he signals his hands like he's shoveling something out of his way he says, "hi, we're closing so..." Upset now, I then replied in a disrespectful manner things I probably should not write here (you give respect to get some with me) how in the hell are you going to say that and make a gesture like your shoveling out the dogs shit from the drive way.... I did not take this lightly. I however left with only one though, this review. I've shopped here for about a year now and the staff is always like "eh" attitude, the only two people in this store that look like they actually like people around is the Teacher "Chief Eric" (who my wife paid gracefully for baking classes and one of the other workers named "Rebecca" who is actually very nice to me. Who hires these little racist nerds who have absolutely no creative people skills!??!! So many qualified unemployed workers running around begging for an $8hour job and they have this numb nuts TELLING PEOPLE TO LEAVE! instead of asking in a polite manner! How many businesses begin to fail because they have no idea their employees are incompetent... I digress. Good store with a bad apple. read more

Staff are standoffish and unfriendly. Prices seem high when compared to similar stores. Not a good experience.

I recently had a picture framed here. I do not recommend using them for your framing needs. When I came to pick up, the finished framed picture, they had the picture off center and in the wrong frame. I asked to see the frame I had chosen and immediately they asked me to pick out another frame. I am sure the frame they used was not what I had chosen. They did reframe my picture, this time the picture seemed to be centered and in the correct, chosen frame, yet, the matting was not consistent. Outer mat was extremely wide and inner mats were wider on one side than the other. I realize I was asking for triple matting, and I believe this is not something they are used to doing. They were advertising a 60% off sale, so I was hoping to save a bit of money. Nope. I should have gone to a reputable framer. Since my whole experience had taken over 6 weeks, I settled on the second job, yet I will never use them again. read more

I returned some food writers (edible markers) here a couple of weeks ago because they were dried out. Had a very bad experience returning them so I decided to complain. Sent an email to corporate. One of the managers (Lourdes) called me back promptly and I was quite satisfied by her splendid customer service. So... I decided to give the store another try. MISTAKE!!! Everything was fine after the manager called me (I'm in at least once a week) until today. WHEN I NEEDED ANOTHER SET OF FOOD WRITERS. Why did I purchase another set when the first set was dry you ask? Well I was so impressed with Lourdes I thought for sure I would not have any problems again. WRONG!! The same grumpy day manager (who resembles Professor Snape without the black hair) was skulking around the store hiding from customers. Meanwhile the cashier was having to run around and find things for customers AND ring people up. Just sad. But THE WORST thing was...I re-purchased THE SAME FOOD WRITERS I RETURNED!! I could tell because the same ones were dried out while a couple of them were passable. And the box was crinkled on the top and obviously had been opened...THE HORROR! JUST SO GROSS!!! Oh and my cake pop order is due in the AM. And it's midnight. I hope they make Lourdes a full time manager and get rid of the skulking daytime one. If it were not for her great helpful attitude I would have given this store 1 star. Needless to say...I won't be back. Good luck and stay away from the food writers. read more

Love going here, always has great deals especially around the holidays. They have everything i need and more Always helps inspire cute ideas. The staff is always friendly, great variety of stuff. Never leave unsatisfied. read more
