Incredibly negative experiance with craft store Michael's(Granada Hills)/ Michaels.com from purchase to replacement of all broken items. I left a negative review online including a 1 star rating. They emailed back saying my review did not meet their guidelines for posting. I just saw my review in a FALSE, HIGHLY MODIFIED version online. Where do everyone go if they have a art project, school presentation, arts & crafts, scrapbooking, do it yourself projects?...Michaels of course! From colorful pens to home decorative items you can find them all at Michaels. The only issue I have is I wished the staff would be more engaging and offer help instead of sometimes completely ignoring customers. I believe they offer classes on certain days and the topics are always changing. Parking is a breeze with plenty of parking. Be warned it can get hectic on the weekends with tight fisted, rude, and mean women. read more

Don't be a jerk, don't think you're entitled, and the employees will go out of their way to take care of you. If someone helps you with an item gives you great customer service and you decide not to get that item, don't be a jerk and just throw it anywhere...put it back as a common courtesy. read more

This place is great! I got over $100 worth of stuff here, mainly paint for my Big's paddle, but I also got a "Wreck-this-journal", sketching pencils, and canvas. I was very happy with the store layout and the helpful employees. I highly recommend this store to anyone who likes arts and crafts. read more

I am truly disappointed. I ordered a customized shadow box about two weeks ago. I called 3 days ago to ask if my order would be complete by today, I was told yes. I called today and was told my order has not been framed nor mounted. I couldn't have been more crushed knowing I was promised and on top of everything had a surprised family event tomorrow for my husband. I am so bummed and beyond frustrated. Don't order anything online and have it sent here!! I recently on Black Friday, ordered a sewing machine as a gift because I found it at a great price. I thought it would be a good idea to have it sent to the store, since I live so close and figured it would be safe there. WASN'T I WRONG!!! Firstly, they never emailed me or called me to let me know my package arrived. So after no word for about a week I got impatient and tracked the order. To my surprise, the package was shown to have been delivered 4 days prior to the day I looked it up. Moreover, I decided to go over and try to pick up the package that I PAID GOOD MONEY FOR. That turned out to be a waste of time. I get there and ask a girl who didn't know anything about anything if they received my package, she went to the back and came back about 15 minutes later dumbfounded and not really knowing what to say. Basically she told me that she couldn't find the package and that I should wait a few days and see if they contact me regarding it. even tho it clearly says that it was delivered 4 days before online. So I leave. The next day I call in to try to talk to a manager about the issue. I end up talking to 2 different girls (don't know if any where the manger) and they also cannot seem to find the package. Or have no idea what happened to it. So I tell them the name of the worker who had signed for my package "JAK". But the employee tells me that no one even works there with that name. So in conclusion, I'm pretty sure one of there shady workers came up (stole) it! Why else would someone have signed it with that name. It's all good I got my refund from customer service. It just really upset me because I really wanted the item. To whoever did it I hope u get caught and fired!!! JAK!! read more

This location has terrible customer service and I encountered the most blatantly rude employee in the framing department. I had an item I wasn't sure how to frame (it was a very tiny relic attached to photo paper) so I asked an employee who was stocking shelves if she could help and she told me no, I would need to speak to Maribel, in framing. Maribel was busy with a customer so I decided to walk around the store and come back. After 30 minutes, she hadn't finished with the customer yet, so I decided to wait in line. When she saw me in line, she shouted, "do you have a question?", and then proceeded to tell me that they do not have the mat board I needed if it wasn't on the shelf. When I asked her if I could wait for advice then, she told me she was busy with a customer. I told her that I understood and I would gladly wait until she was done. She rolled her eyes at me, shook her head, and started whispering to the customer. I asked why I couldn't just wait until she was done. In a very condescending tone, she said, "I told you I'm busy with a customer". She then gave me more dirty looks and in a loud deliberate tone so I could hear, told the customer at the counter, "you take all the time you need and please don't feel rushed at all". I never once told her that I was in a hurry or made her feel like she needed to rush. I was happy to wait for however long the customer needed. I would expect an employee to take their time with me if I had a custom framing order, so I believe the same courtesy should be extended to any other customer as well. She was being rude only because I wanted to patiently wait in line?!! After this encounter with her, I didn't feel comfortable anymore, so I got out of line and decided to look again for the the mat board in case I missed it the first time. I noticed a ton of the boards were mixed up and not in the correct spaces, so I did end up finding the one I needed in the wrong spot. Maribel could've asked another associate on the floor to help me or she could've told me that it might be misplaced on the shelf, but she just couldn't be bothered. Also, this occurred shortly after they opened in the morning, so I counted about 5 associates and 3 customers (including me) in the store. There's no reason why SOMEONE couldn't at least have made an effort to help me. I will never take any of my framing orders here again and I will shop at Joann whenever possible to avoid this store. read more

I pretty much love michaels. I can find almost everything I'm looking for, AND then some!! Yeah, their prices are generally more expensive than other craft stores, but hey, Michaels is in the neighborhood and they have what you need!! Plus, they give great coupons in the Sunday paper. They told me ill 40 I went they weren't there so I ask one more time and she said I'll 40 so I looked again and I decided to ask someone else and they say ill 35 and I said are you sure I been back and forth a few times and I was already mad and I went back to 35 and I devoted to tell my mother I couldn't find them so she asked another person in the back and she finally told us ill 51 hanging on the wall thank god she knows her store because the other ones did not because of her they got one start of she didn't them they don't deserve a start will not come back again. I like this store because the location and the parking , also it has a huge amount of things there . You can easily spend a couple of hours just looking around for one thing . Buuuut the staff is pretty fkn rude. They never seem to be happy to help the customer. read more

Pretty decent place when you need crafts for your kids. There are ALWAYS coupons that you can get in the mail or on your phone. Makes it very convenient. Very nice employees and very helpful. They have such a great selection of flowers. read more

the selection is great and all but the service could be a lot better. I asked one of the girls if they had something in stock and she had no idea what i was talking about and said they didn't five minutes later i walk by a shelve with a ton of it. The checkout lines are always backed up and they have only one open, and i had to wait like 10 ten minutes one time for them to open up the cage with the spray paints. I use it because there is no other craft store nearby but if you get really impatient with people i wouldn't recommend. read more

Although they have good quality items, they're really overpriced. They quantity is little, but the price is not cheap. There was regular worsed weight yarn that was 197 yards long for $5. I saw another yarn that was 325 yards long for the same price in a different store. Be careful of the prices. read more

I was at your store in Granada Hills yesterday to sign up for a class. There was a very long line of people checking out with their purchases. I ask the clerk at the front where I could sign up for a class, she told me I would have to get in line with all the other people checking out. I SAID NO THANKS. WHAT KIND OF COSTUMER SERVICE IS THIS?????? The day before I was in your store and purchase some items I need for my class, I became very upset when the check-out clerk answered the phone and started a long conversation before finishing off my purchases. I've been coming here for years now and no other place beats this store. As a former sorority girl, plenty of projects and crafting nights were successfully accomplished all thanks to Michaels. I particularly enjoy their 40% off coupons and an additional 20% from their website or when you sign up for their emails. The items are so overpriced, and most of all the store's aisles are super crowded. Barely one person can fit in them at a time. Plus the flower section of the store takes up the majority of the space in the store which is really disappointing, because not everyone is interested in flower art and etc. read more

Slow. Twenty minutes in line before I just gave up and left. Only two people were helped during that time, line was at least 25 customers long. 2 cashiers on, I felt bad for them. I could hear both asking for help. Yet no one came to help. I saw one woman, an employee, walk past look at the line and turn around and go the other way. Ridiculous. Lots of merchandise but the customer service is HORRIBLE! From employees with attitude, irritated to help to no concept or care of peoples valueable time at the registers.
