And the lighting in that area is sooo dim it makes it very dark and uninviting and because it's on a corner it actually makes it quit eerie to approcach. With proper lighting and a bit more attention, this would be hands down one of the best Michaels for yarn selection. The restrooms are also outdated.. I like this store because it usually has whatever I need. However, there's something to be said for their online order pickup process, and my rating is based strictly on that. Sure, there's a clear sign when you first walk in that tells you to press the button and someone will come out with your online order. I pressed and pressed. I was standing there for several minutes and even saw the closest cashier to me look at me several times. But there was no, "Someone will be out to help you shortly," or anything like that. When a couple of additional employees came out front, I naively got excited as I thought that I was finally going to get helped. But they went out front to help a couple cashiers with something then they disappeared. At a time when many businesses have suffered, you would think that they'd be more appreciative of their customers. I finally got help after deciding to stand in the checkout line. The cashier disappeared for a while and came back with my full page printed receipt and my item, without a bag to put them in, and without checking my ID to make sure the purchase was really mine. I thought ordering online for in-store pickup was supposed to make things more efficient. Had I read the reviews regarding this before going there, I would have just skipped the whole process or would have just ordered online for pickup at a different location. read more

Yes! Like Effy S. Said what's not to like about Michaels. There is so many things I want to buy and do with all the cool stuff. The only thing here which sucks is that there isn't enough workers. They are all at the register. And if you ask them for help which I did with one guy.. arrgg he was kinda rude and then he after a minute I guess he thought about it. No clear process for online pickup, even in the age of COVID-19. Ordered online because they advertised "curbside pickup." Nope, you have to go into the store, ask several people where you can pick up your online order because there are no clear signs, and then stand there for 10+ minutes because all of the employees will tell you "just wait" while helping other customers -- even those who queued up after you. Being patient just means they will continue to ignore you. Only when you start to be more "assertive" will they roll their eyes, sigh loudly, and then go grab your order -- something that took literally all of 15 seconds. I truly do not want to have to gear up for conflict in order to receive basic customer service -- the world is a stressful enough place as it is. The employees at this Michael's location have always been terrible and their COVID policies (or lack thereof) have exacerbated the awful shopping experience. i'm in line at checkout as we speak. this is my first ever yelp review so this speaks volume. i go here once a week to buy more supplies for my business and there is some not one register open and workers are not around. there is about 20 of us, the line is going around down aisles. i'm third in line and have been third in line for 15 minutes. the workers are lazy and won't open up for us, the guy on register wont call for help and he looks confused. us customers are in a hurry. i'm tired of it, it's like this every time i come in here. this needs to change read more

I love this Michaels because the people are friendly and even though they have a long line they move fast. Also, their location is in a shopping center where you can visit many other stores like Nordstrom rack, petco, world market and other cool stores and restaurants. Become a loyalty member and you don't need receipts to exchange or return anything how cool is that. You will get emails with coupons that will be up to 50% off on any regular priced items and sometimes you still get s 20% off coupon that they even allow you to use on sale items. I looove Michaels. I just wish they allowed you to use that on the cricut machine but you can't lol and it's only on one item I wish they allowed at least two items. read more

More often than not, I am able to find what I am looking for and tons of things that I didn't know that I needed. I always come here for some good gift ideas, especially last minute ones. I like that they have a good selection of seasonal items. The last ones that I bought were some super cute Easter eggs in the shape of carrots, bunnies, chicks and regular eggs. I was able to find some things to fill my eggs up with and to make small crafts for and with the kiddos in the family. I was able to use my coupons and make returns easily. They don't give a bulk discount anymore but that's OK. I have been allowed to make 2 separate transactions to be able to use 2 different coupons before. That was always nice of them to let me do. I often buy stickers to use in my planner throughout the year and lots to give to some of the children of my friends whom I exchange letters with. I love their new letter sets. They are so cute and coordinated. I wish my purse were the same but thank goodness you can store your coupons on your phone, iPhone. A lot of times I will come here a few times in a single week and once that stops, I won't return for months. Lately, with the increased amount of letter writing that I have been doing, I am here a lot more. Yet another review from a frequent Michael shopper. A near 20 minute stand-still wait with one cashier and a line of at least 10. The poor cashier called the manager several times for support with no response. Two people left the line. I'm not sure how the store makes any money, as this is not the first time I've seen a poorly managed front of house with customers abandoning merchandise at the door because of long waits. When I raided this to the manager, once she finally and slowlycame to the front of house, she looked at me dismissively and may have rolled her eyes. That said, the lonely cashier holding the bag was prompt, apologetic and very professional. The manager appears to be a thief. My best reco is to NOT use curb side. Better yet, give your money to an honest store. Placed a curbside order on 7/30. Never picked it up and talked to two different people at the store who assured me they would cancel the order. They never did. 10 days later, received an email saying my order was picked up. It wasn't. Talked to the store 2 more times (both times promised a refund that never came). Found out this is store policy. The manager has staff mark orders as "picked up" rather than "cancelled". Was not able to find out if they then put the merch in their cars or back on the shelf. It no longer exists in inventory so can only imagine someone is keeping it. Terrible manager to force employees to steal and cook the books for her/him. I feel for the employees who are just looking for a paycheck. Have talked to corporate twice, still waiting for a refund for the merchandise someone else likely stole. And to corporate, please have your fraud department investigate. Sorry to say but I had a terrible experience with their online and phone service - I received a 30% off coupon - applied it to a $50 gift card which was emailed to a friend. My my receipt showed up the next day, there was no discount applied - I called to cancel the gift (5 days before the email was to be sent) - I was told it was done. But then my friend called 5 days later to thank me for the gift! Then I called again and nicely spoke to a Michaels.com supervisor to ask for a simple $15 refund or credit - since they advertised 30% off -- but the supervisor told me they couldn't do either -- the best they offered was another 30% off coupon. I find this unacceptable after being told last week that my order had been properly cancelled. Sorry to say - I like Michaels in West LA - but they'll no longer get any business from me. read more

Playground for artists and crafty people. This Michael's is very large and ample parking in their lot! Needed to grab some items for a painting project. Staff was friendly but sent us to wrong aisle. Wasn't bad though, she was just off by one. We were in and out in 15 minutes. Found everything we needed. Good thing we worked fast because we totally could've spent hours and walked out with a ton of stuff. This place is dangerous. Honestly if you want to get something just pay for delivery. The way there curb side system works is ridiculous ! So when you get to the store you have to call , but if someone comes after you and gets lucky they can get there order before you. When alot of people where telling them it was impossible to get thru there respond was keep calling we only have 3 phones. So it took till my 55th call that I was able to get someone and then they put me on hold. but before that every time you will call it will hang up on you. I know is a hard time and I am not blaming the empoyees but come on there has to be a better system then this. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! I came here to return an online order. Everything was in it's package, unopened, except for one item that arrived without plastic wrapping. Big deal right? Uh, no. I proceeded to give the cashier the packing slip/ receipt that came with my order. The cashier had no idea how to do an online return. This makes sense because maybe she is a new employee so I did not mind waiting for the manager. Who I assume is the manager, comes to the front, explains to the cashier how to process my order. Then she looks at me with a horrible demeanor on her face telling me that my packing slips are invalid. I told her that it makes no sense as those are the only slips that arrived with my orders. Before I was even done with that sentence, she abruptly cuts me off and tells to "wait I'm trying to do something." I let her do her thing and in the end I did end up getting my refund, minus the shipping charges which they apparently don't refund which makes total sense. I had total intention of browsing the store and making some purchases but that "manager" just made my experience really annoying so I proceeded to leave. Horrible customer service. As Shauna D. already mentioned in her review, parking here sucks. The shopping center has a huge lot, but since the center is usually pretty busy, it's a pain to find an open spot. Plus, Michaels is located in the back of the center, so you often find yourself driving behind a really slow car that's trying to find a space. The actual Michaels, however, is much nicer than its counterparts in Burbank and Pasadena. The store is large and well organized. Products (in my case, scrapbooking paper and supplies) were actually in stock and had plenty of selection. Lastly, it seems like this store is not as busy as some of their other stores - there was almost no line when I was checking out, compared to Burbank (a couple hours earlier) with huge lines at each stand. read more

At some point, you wonder if all Michaels are the same once you've been to a few. Well, no, they each have their own individual experiences. This one in Glendale is located in the same strip mall as the Nordstrom Rack and Barnes & Noble and a slew of other stores which means parking is a big pain the ass. I only go to this Michaels if I'm already going to the other things in this plaza. I like this store though. It's large, well-organized and seems very clean. Even the cheapie $1 section isn't too ransacked. They carry a lot of supplies and though lines can get long, I don't mind waiting (better than to go outside and deal with the madhouse parking again). I have heard though if you want a better deal, then go to Swains nearby which is an independent art supplies store. read more

Recently went into michaels to get some frames and baking supplies for a party. Was greeted and helped by Stephanie and helped by Norka in framing. She was super helpful and friendly. They both made my experience at michaels great!! Norka was very knowledgeable about frames, I came in with a budget around 150 to buy a frame and ended up ordering a custom frame. Came here to buy supplies to make a rave outfit, and from one visit I could understand why this Michaels location only has 2.5 stars rating. The store is decently large, and it took me a while to locate flower petals. At first I only found flower petals without stems, already in clear boxes. These were quite expensive, around $5-6 per small box. I asked a passing employee whether there were other flower petals and was told "No, the only ones we have are the ones you're holding." I was distraught and confused because my friend had recently visited a Michaels (different location) and said she found many flower petals that were 50% off just a couple days ago. Going through practically every aisle, I finally found a whole bunch of flowers that still had stems on them. These were EXACTLY what I was looking for! -__- I also noticed that there were several signs marked 50% off, but since all the flowers were messily placed I couldn't tell which ones were on sale. I asked yet the same associate (he happened to be close by) which ones were on sale, and he said "Very few, only the ones marked Home etcetc". However, when I checked out, ALL the flowers I chose were 50% off! WTF? Do the employees have NO effing clue what the hell they're doing here? Also, after paying I realized I forgot to use an online coupon so I went back and asked if they could do a price adjustment, to which the employee responded, "No we cannot do price adjustments. If you want to use the coupon we have to return everything and you have to re-buy them. And normally we would have to put the items back and you have to find them again." .... really?? You have to spell out for me how much you hate your job, and are unwilling to go even ONE stinking extra mile to help your customer be happy and save $10 on their $55 purchase?? Another thing -- they were very short on supplies. I was looking to buy a hot glue gun and they only had the mini at $3.99 or the large at $24.99; completely out of stock for the medium sized one for $12.99. Rhinestones were also veryyyy low on stock; most of the ones I wanted were sold out. If the story was too long for you, let me make some bullet points: PROS: - Lots of coupons you can find online - Convenient location with plenty of free parking (same plaza as Ross, TJ Maxx) CONS: - Employees who don't know crap about their job - Worst customer service ever - Low on stock for too many things - Hard to find what you need - aisles are poorly constructed (descriptions suck) My visit to this Michaels was such a waste of time. As if we're not all busy enough, a 15 minute quick shop turned into a 35 minute waste of time because the employees couldn't help me to save their lives. Seriously, go to Joann's Fabrics. It's a shame that every time I need something random and crafty I have to go to Michaels. I called ahead to ask about heart-shaped boxes, that I needed a larger one. After a lengthy time spent on hold, I was told that the only boxes they had were tiny ones. After finding out that heart-shaped boxes were going to be virtually impossible to find without it being shipped, I decided to settle for a cylindrical box. In my quest for the right box I reluctantly ended up at Michaels...and literally walked 50 feet to one of the crafty aisles and found MANY medium sized heart-shaped containers. Bright pink and red. It would be a shame for me to give one star on that experience alone, but it's happened to me with other items. I can't just call and save myself some time. It doesn't work that way in the time-warp that is Michaels. I had someone call around to other stores for specific gift bags and was told that NO one had them. I walked in to another location that same day and found plenty of them. That and the line is always a million miles long. When I was there, an associate was apologizing, that they get busy around the time I was there, but that this was especially busy. I must be there on all the especially busy days. read more
