    St Patrick's day!
    Laura P.

I came to the store to get some Easter things. They have a very good display of Easter things, I bought a wreath. Many places throughout the store is an advertisement on 25% off sale including sale items. It's on every shopping cart, on the wall and various places throughout the store. I bought four items. And the checkout line was quick and the sales clerk checked me out promptly. I then looked at my receipt and I did not see anything on sale. I said "is this 25% off? " And the sales associate said, "do you have the coupon?". He then told me to step aside so he could wait on the next person and then he would return everything I had and I would have to obtain the coupon online and then he would re-ring me up. The lady behind me was very gracious and said, "you can finish her up." So I went online for the coupon. He returned my items and rang them up with 25% off. I apologized to the lady behind me and told her "with the advertisement everywhere throughout the store, I didn't know I had to go online and get a coupon", she said "the same with me." I had the shopping cart in front of the sales associate that said 25% off everything including sale items. You'd think the sales associate would've said something instead of just letting me pay 25% more for all my items, and not saying a word If the sale wasn't advertised in so many places throughout the store, and on the shopping cart, I would not feel this way. The lady behind me had to go on and get the coupon, or she was going to have the same experience as me, depended upon if she checked her receipt before she left the store! I find this to be deceptive, implying that everyone's gonna get 25% off, BUT then when they don't go online and get the coupon they don't get 25% off. Not everyone checks their receipt before they leave the store like I did. It's very misleading.

We thought we were running in to purchase prismacolor pencils for school on tax free weekend would be an in and out...man were we wrong. As soon as we entered and employee greeted us and asked if we'd like to make a free art craft. My girls were delighted and I was just happy for a free craft event they provided and told me to go shop. Not only did the employee greet us in such a friendly manner,, he assisted my youngest with completing the art task. He is so positive and patient with all the children. I will be checking out the schedule for other events to come back but thank you for having such enjoyable people work at your stores.

This Michael's was very clean. It was busy this past Sunday too and surprisingly everything stayed organized. I came here looking for tape to make straight lines of a dry erase board. Not sure what it was called. I looked on every aisle on one side of the store so I finally asked. The lady was friendly although didn't really point me in the right direction. It's okay, I was confused too but I knew what I was looking for. I love how they have the coupons online and they use it towards the most expensive item. I didn't purchase anything that day but I was with someone who did. Good job on keeping it clean Michael's. Off to office max I went.

This is not my usual Michaels but it is still a nice place to visit. The store is big enough to accomodate the variety of products. Those of us who craft return to the same stores often so it would be nice if there were fresh new items from time to time. I've been looking at the very same Big Shot dies for the last two years. All in all, it makes a nice back up location to the one closest to my home. It is also convenient in Wolf Ranch when I have a few other errands to run.

I am grateful Michael's is still serving folks in person. I love going in and wondering around. There are so many hidden treasures.

I especially love the sirdar jewelspun chunky with wool yarn (color blend: mother of Pearl..check out my video for how gorgeous these colors were) where I managed to get two beanies out of a single ball! But the best thing here are the lessons by Carrie Au. I'm a teacher myself and I can recognize an excellent teacher and Carrie is absolutely that. With just two lessons from her, I was able to basically do everything I needed to make 90% of what I could ever want to make. I then had spent a couple of months crocheting different things and came back for another more advanced lesson. Carrie knows all the yarn arts and can do things both right and left handed. And she has so many helpful tips that she's learned from experience that I never saw on any YouTube video or website tutorial (and in fact there are popular things out there i learned from her were NOT good things to do). If you want to learn (crochet or knitting), so worth coming here to take lessons (beginner through advanced). The other benefit is that their yarns and hooks are good quality so if you start here, you'll have such a better time and be more likely to continue.

Another Very Smart Thing is that the yarns are sorted by gauge and cutely and clearly marked. The person on staff was helpful and I enjoyed talking with her. If I find myself in the area I'll certainly stop again.

Handicap friendly spots right in front of the door with an easy walkway (with no stairs) leading up to the door. Selection: HCW has TONS of product, for every price point! I saw everything from acrylic to high-end cashmere. They also carry cute yarn bags, pattern books, and all types of needles and hooks. Misc: HCW also offers classes for all levels. They have a ton of space in this great, big room with a large table where they hold the classes. I was also told that they offer paid blocking services for finished projects once a week. Blocking is priced per time spent on item. As someone who learned to knit at 8 but has only been seriously knitting for the last few months, I was pleasantly surprised by HCW. Lisa was extremely helpful and helped me with a provisional cast on for my Oslo Hat, after someone else had helped guide me on selecting my mohair. I came 30 min before the store closed for the day and didn't have a ton of time to check everything out, but I suspect I'll be back very, very soon! UPDATE: I came back a week later after finishing my latest project (the Oslo Hat by PK) to buy yarn for my next project (the Honey Washbag by PK). The buying process was smooth, and I received great help while there. I was especially impressed by how they give you a $1 "yarn token" for every $20 you spend on yarn, which you can trade in for $1 on a future purchase! Can't wait to go back.

It is an open space with all sorts of art supplies, tools, and just about anything your imagination can muster up. Lots of inspiration. I was hoping to make more than just one small block and have different supplies like fabric for printing. It was very therapeutic to carve my small block. The class felt a little scattered - but it was a very easy going environment, super relaxed. Our instructor was friendly and encouraged us to tap into originality without overthinking it instead of looking up patterns or inspo on our phone. I really liked that. And she offered us all coffee, freshly made. You can basically come in to do all the arts and craft your heart desires, on a donation basis. Affordable and unique way to release your artistic side without investing too much in all the supplies and then an abandoning a hobby. I'd come back with a friend and check out a different class.
