They have so many cool things from literally all over like the U.S. and across the globe. Chandeliers, bags, journals, keychains, jewelry, pottery, wind chimes...I could go on and on. So many wonderfully unique things for the home and for gifting. I bought the cutest pair of earrings as a gift for my friend's upcoming birthday. The two times I've been here have been beyond excellent.

Shopping was a challenge in the oasis because they didn't have the items listed online (they had an intern manually update each item in the database). But now they have moved and I'm happy their items are available online too! I got the wooden gecko puzzle which is the coolest toy ever. They have a lot more (check out the moose!) I bought some scented items for my apartment to make it more cozy. I'll be shopping online, but I'm happy the staff is so cool and their one of a kind items are still available! Imo their value is in the novelty, I enjoy how unique these items are. I spent $50 here on 2 scented bottles with some incense sticks.

However I think I took for granted just how lovely my LQS is until I started participating in the "All Texas Shop Hop" and experienced OTHER shops that I realized just how much of a gem we have. Fabric and Notion Selection at Poppy's is really great without being overwhelming. On the fabric side, I think there's a good balance between the blenders, batiks, and other quilting fabric compared to other stores I visited that were extremely heavy in only one type. Everything at Poppy's is of the highest quality so you can feel confident that it's money well spent. I've taken a few classes that were all taught by a true experts and artisans. I especially appreciate the Michelle is considerate of the variety in clientele, offering most classes both during the week as well as weekends. I love how every time you walk into Poppy's, you are greeted with a smile and a welcome. Look, I know that every time the bell rings the "Welcome to Poppy's" phrase is said loud and proud... and yet, I still feel like they are truly welcoming ME in.
