We've had their coffee, freshly brewed and buying a few bags of beans, for a few years now at Taylor markets and we are so happy to see them create a beautiful physical location. I got a Dillo (Armadillo) latte and it was sweet and layered with flavor. We learned that their signature Armadillo milk is their take on a tres leches sweet cream with a 3-milk mixture like in the cake. They had a small glass box of delicious looking pastry options. The location is near downtown and has lots of close street parking and parking spots across the street from empty buildings. The morning light that streams in is just gorgeous with the warm neutral accents of the inside. There are quite a few tables as well as some barstool seating on the main counter. If you'd rather enjoy the fresh air there are a few tables outside the shop in the shade. They have an area for merch so if you enjoyed your drink consider taking home a bag of their roasts for home! In this area they also have some non-coffee options and kid options. There is a large, clean single stall bathroom and free Wi-Fi. I ordered a coffee with caramel while working on my laptop for about 40 minutes and then ordered jalapeño ranch bacon burger with chips and a soda, to go with it around 10:40am. The burger was delicious--perfectly cooked with great flavor the addition of crispy jalapeños was nice--and the coffee was spot on. However, I also ordered six sticky buns when I ordered my burger that were promised to be ready by 11:30 a.m. but I ended up waiting until after 12:45p.m. without any communication. No one stopped by to update me on the delay, which left me feeling pretty frustrated. It's hard to understand how you can let someone sit for that long without providing any status updates and I wasn't alone. The only information we heard was when they would talk to someone at the drive-through about how the kitchen is behind. Despite the service issues, the sticky buns, once they arrived, were fantastic, probably best I've ever had. If you're not in a rush and are mainly focused on good food, this spot could work for you. Just be prepared for a lack of communication if delays happen. The score reflects service and communication more than food. Food was 4 stars. Sticky buns, 5! I will go back on another day and give it another shot to see if this was a fluke and reevaluate my score.

The drink selection was surprisingly large and service was pretty quick even though there was only one person taking and making the drink orders. I was curious about trying the flavored coffees and different roasts that were for sale by the bag, but none of them are brewed and served in the shop which surprised me. I passed because I wasn't willing to spend $15 on a coffee I wasn't sure I'd like. I will absolutely stop when I pass through town again next week. The coffee shop has a great vibe - great decor and there is a cute little gift shop connected with a nice selection of candles and Kendra Scott jewelry. There were some gorgeous wood pieces too - made by local artist. The ONLY negative is there is only one restroom, so be prepared to wait a bit if that's also why you are stopping. :)

Asked my 20 questions about the Matcha Latte: is it just matcha powder, nothing else, not from a mix? I was assured it was "just" matcha, so I ordered. As we were finishing, I mentioned "unsweetened please". She said "oh, we can't do that: the matcha comes pre-sweetened". Um, then that's not "just matcha", it's a powdered mix that you take a scoop from and mix with water. Big difference. That's the equivalent of telling someone that instant coffee is just like regular coffee. She said she could make me a Chai unsweetened, the 20 questions about that ensued to make sure it didn't have milk solids in it. By this time I'd clearly annoyed her with my questions, so I got a Chai, lol. Who knows the make up of that. Lo and behold we were recommended this gem around the corner from our stay. I had the cinnamon roll latte and my bride had a smores-flavored latte. Thoroughly enjoyed them. I believe their beans are roasted in house with the roaster inside. What we absolutely loved. We went back the next morning on our way out of Burton and the lady who worked there found out we were there to celebrate our son's birthday. She remembered that he had a sister and gave us two cake balls for them. Unprompted, just really nice of her. This little gem of a coffee house is an absolutely must-try if you are in the area.
