Jessica the instructor is a great guide, flexible, informative and patient. This class isn't cheap but they supply ALL THE ART SUPPLIES and we've painted in acrylic, oils, and watercolors and drawn with charcoal and pencil. Paper, solvent, linseed oil. I was really nervous the first class, but the piece turned out better than I expected. I find the class calming, almost meditative.

Staff was friendly and gave a helpful tutorial, answered any questions, and let you do your thing without hovering. I recommend eating beforehand and bringing water because depending on your price, you could be there for a few hours. Prices are VERY reasonable. Fused glass for four of us cost less than a hundred dollars for smaller pieces. There are many options, big and small, and can be intimidating at first but ended up being great fun. I don't recommend the fused glass for small children because you are handling small pieces of cut glass. You will need to leave your art there for a week so the staff can do the finishing then they will text/call you when it's available for pickup.

If you are coming from the west off 290 its headed towards south austin about 20min from Dripping Springs a few min past Belterra strip mall food area. Plenty of parking. Lots of seating on a Sunday around 12noon ish Thanksgiving weekend. No time limit on doing your chosen art. I tried glass making for the 1st and it was fun and challenging l. Instructions by the staff very useful! Friendly. Helpful. Welcoming. We each chose something different. Plenty of items small, med or large to chose from. Pottery comes with whatever pain you want, glass area there are easy and complex projects. You pay, they fire/bake the pieces and you show up about a week later to grab your pieces. We each got something around 40.00 or under. Time flew by. We were there for maybe 2.5hrs. My teens were not on their phones once. Engaged, creative, good family time. The instructors are great and you meet really nice people with a similar interest and appreciation of art. I can't recommend the school enough. I wish I had found them sooner! I really have no innate talent, and it is heartening to know that artistic technique can be learned with practice and good instruction. The whole experience is awesome, really relaxing, as well. I wish I could quit my job and do this all the time! Ladies Night Out classes are fun, so far I have had one with Rose and she is awesome. I am taking a weekly art class with Debbie, who is so positive and encouraging. John substituted for Debbie one night, and he is a great instructor, as well. Only a month and half into the classes and you should see what people are producing! I honestly thought I would just try it a month and move to the Round Rock campus/location, but I don't want to leave my group and instructor---so I am staying with the Austin location.
