Just when we were going to cars after a long, but wonderful day at the Red Poppy festival, we noticed a shop that has never been open when were in Georgetown. Yes, To Have & to Hold! To Have & To Hold is such a special little boutique in downtown Georgetown. The shop was filled with unique gifts for every occasion...weddings, baby showers, birthdays, holidays, and many other occasions. We met Dixie, the owner, and she is the quintessential Texas woman. You might also say she's a little fireball meant in the most complimentary way. She was Texas friendly on steroids. She greeted us and asked us questions to get to know us better. Then she offered us a sample of the spicey margarita. It was served in a thimble size cup, but very potent. By the way, for those who live in Georgetown, Dixie said she has a new drink sample every week. The store has a welcoming, charming atmosphere. At this juncture, I did not plan to spend another dime in Georgetown and after our lengthy stay, I was ready to exit stage left. Well Dixie had other plans. She told us this spicey margarita mix, which was sold in her boutique, could me made in the bag with only three ingredients. OK...she sparked out attention. After her soft sell pitch, my friend and I both purchased a drink mix. I purchased the spicey margarita mix and she purchased the lemon drop mixture. Prices were comparable to other similar stores. Then we exited stage left....left Georgetown...for real this time! Smile. read more

Dixie (the owner) was SO funny, full of life, and refreshing. She instantly makes you feel like a friend. I definitely will be sending my clients to her from now on for any wedding favors/decor they may need. I bought some custom coffee cups for my own wedding and you truly cannot beat the price. Would not recommend shopping here since the owner is very rude and very entitled. I work down the street from this store at a real estate business and always wanted to go in to shop here and also would recommend my own customers to go there for gifts and such, but after the interaction I just had with the owner I will no longer be recommending this store to anyone. I'm pregnant and I park in the FREE PUBLIC parking in front of this store and today not only did it look like she tried getting the parking ambassador to give me a ticket (even tho I wasn't parked there for more than 3 hours) but she also came up to my window when I was moving my truck to tell me I can't park there even tho the parking is NOT reserved for her shop because I am "preventing" customers from coming in. I wasn't preventing anyone from entering her shop at all I was parked in free public parking spot. Just very rude for absolutely no reason and I will not be recommending this shop to anyone. I could maybe understand a little more if she approached me in a more respectful way but she didn't. read more

They have so many wonderful gifts and ideas for any type of event whether it's the holidays or for your home to gift ideas for wedding's, birthday's, etc. my husband and I recently had our yeti's personalized after we got married and absolutely love how they came out and can't wait to go back to take our kids yeti's to get personalized. I came in to wrap a present and I was asked if I wanted to have anything engraved. I hadn't planned on it, but I quickly realized that it would enhance my gift. I was a little apprehensive about engraving an item that was so special, but I was assured it would be well taken care of. I was sent a proof for approval before any work was done. It took a few days and it was ready for pickup. The wrapping was elegant (only $8, I supplied the wrapping paper) and the service was prompt and professional. Do not do business here! I try to give small, local businesses my money because I strongly support small business but NOT this place. I couldn't get a phone call back, appointments were canceled at the last minute-on her end, deadlines were not met and Dixie constantly offered up excuses regarding her failures to meet deadlines and specific requests. I gave one star because there are cute items here. But I strongly suggest avoiding this shop and avoiding hiring Dixie for anything. read more

On November 29, I ordered personalized 7 tea towels for a total of $174.28 as Christmas presents for some of my family from this store. The owner/manager said what I asked for on the towels would be fine. On December 2, I got a text saying that the print on the photos was not dark enough and could I send another one. I edited the photos and made them darker and sent them the same day. On December 15 I texted the same number to ask if the towels were in and was told I would be called as soon as they came and to please call the store and not text. I had already called the store but got no answer. I was told they towels were out for delivery and to check back that afternoon. By late afternoon, they still had not been delivered. I asked then for a refund since they weren't ready, but was told there was no refund on custom gifts. On December 23, I received a notice that they had arrived and could be picked up that day. I asked about the shipping and what had happened since I was told they were out for delivery on December 15, but was told she had no control over the shipping and they had not been shipped by then. When I picked up the towels, there were only 5 instead of 7. I have asked repeatedly if the other two every arrived and if not, could I get a refund for those two. To date I have received no response from the store owner/manager. My issues with this store are: 1) Lack of responsiveness to questions about my order 2) Rude behavior from the owner/manager who obviously did not want to deal with my issues 3) Dishonesty on when the towels would arrive and what the order status was 4) A refund of $49.78 for the merchandise I never received. Just note, I could have ordered these from Etsy, but I wanted to "shop local" and support our local businesses. I will not be shopping in this store again, however. read more

I took in a cake knife and server set to be engraved for my daughter's first birthday back in August. I was told it would be ready in a week. It is now the end of January and I still do not have the cake knife and server back from engraving. The owner has repeatedly lied and made up ridiculous excuses as to why we do not have our item back. I was told back in November that she would mail the item to us since we have moved. Then she told me that she dropped the cake knife and scratched it and had to order another one. Last week she told me she would overnight the item to me. Since I still do not have my item my husband left Fort Hood today to drive to Georgetown and of course she didn't have my item and said it was in the mail. She couldn't provide a tracking number, she said the receipt was in her car. She lied to my husband, who was in uniform, and told him that when she got to her car she would text him the tracking number. Of course she didn't. At this point I just want to be reimbursed for my item. I don't know how this place is still in business when you treat your customers this way. If she'll lie to a soldier in uniform in her store, just think of what she'll lie to you about. Please think twice before going in to this store. read more
