I went to the store for the first time today. It's located in downtown Georgetown, in the Georgetown Square. I must say this is absolutely beautiful store with a beautiful assortment of gifts and products. Upon entering the store, I was greeted promptly in the most kind welcoming way. The store is very nicely designed and decorated and feels like a nice place to be It has a very good energy. They have a vast assortment of items at this store. They have beautiful perfumes and clothing and purses. They have beautiful Christopher Radco ornaments. They have jackets they have sweaters. They have beautiful dresses. I did not see one thing in the store that wasn't beautiful. I bought myself some Christopher Radco ornaments, which were very nice and priced very well. I got a beautiful sweater and a purse. If you're looking for different, unique, funny and fine, stop in. Its hard to categorize a store like this. Think: gifts someone will really like. Clothing? Yes. Jewelry? Yes. Things for your home decor like soap, candles, bags, sachets & object d'art? Yep. And yet some other things too. You can browse for 30 minutes and never see the same thing; its that full of goodies and delights. Sounds great; why not four stars? Well, we've made three trips here. Once during a street festival and the staff was a little overwhelmed and couldn't interact with us. That's sort of neutral in my book. I've gone twice on my own however and once was not treated with interest as much as concern - I admit I look a little rough around the edges - and the second time I was treated wonderfully by the owner [the only time of the three I saw her.] So for me, I'll go back, but just won't expect to be treated warmly - so that's four stars for a cool store without a consistent cool experience. read more

EXTREMELY SHADY. Omission of statement of a policy is dishonesty with your customer base and not a way to do business. The store does not accept returns and goes out of their way to push sales on you without making that clear. I've only since learned this after reading reviews. I ordered a dress in advance (the sales people made sure to push an upfront sale without mentioning this policy which is NOT market) without having tried it on under the belief that I could later try the dress on to make sure it fit appropriately, and return if not. Of course now the item doesn't fit and I won't be allowed to return. The only place that visually states the policy is your receipt - which you get in your bag AFTER you've already made your purchase. Dishonest practices at best. read more

My boyfriend bought me a bracelet and earrings, (bracelet is too small to close), he had ask if I didn't like it if it could be returned, and was told usually not but on this one would give a store credit. I stopped in today to exchange it, the girl working called someone, and told me they couldn't exchange it. I moved to Georgetown in 2019. Oolala was one of the first stores in the square that I visited. The gift selection has a great variety and their jewelry is beautiful. My favorite thing is their oil perfumes ! They have a wonderful subtle variety of musky and other scents. It is the only perfume I wear any more. I alternate between several scents. I went to return a sweater I bought less than 30 days ago. I was informed that ALL SALES ARE FINAL. The woman behind the counter pointed to a sign on the wall behind the counter that was partially covered and then said it says it on your receipt. I thought shouldn't this be pointed out upon your purchase. I mean you don't get the receipt until after you've been rung up and they put it directly in the bag. I asked if I could have a partial store credit and was denied. I will not shop here again. read more

I used to love this store for years and spent hundreds of dollars there as a regular customer. I loved the art they bring into the store (bought lots of the wall art) and the beauty of it. I also loved the perfume oil bottles they sell and purchased Amour everytime I ran out. I loved the store so much I told my friends about it and every time I wanted Christmas gifts for my friends I would go there to buy them. I just went again today hoping for the same lovely experience. I was taking photos of myself inside the store just because I wanted to promote the store to my friends across state lines and when I walked in I was shocked no one even said hi or greeted me rather I was told I could not take photos of myself inside the store. I told the lady I was wanting to promote the store. I have been to so many places inside many stores and never has anyone had an issue with me taking photos inside them! Oo La La~ Where do I start? The first step into this little mecca of funky-coolness delivers a tantalizing scent and a feast for the eyes! I only visit this shop when I have time to browse since you'll want to look at everything...and there's so much to see! The front of the shop has an amazing display of candles in extraordinary scents that promise to burn 200 hours. Sweet Tea, Front Porch, Soiree, Back Porch, the names don't do these candles justice. I chose the hyacinth/violet/lavender and have enjoyed it all week. Further in are the jewelry cases holding one of everything I love. I finally treated myself to the bracelet I've eyed for six months. This particular piece was inspired by the Downtown Abbey designer. I'll treasure this beauty! Keep going, they have home decor, scented soaps, wall decor, kitchen accessories, pens, greeting cards, cutting boards, unique, funky blouses, and tops. I also took home a blue and pink Gurgle Pot to add to my collection, along with some cutting boards (on sale for 1/2 off), and a few kitchen items. Now that I've described a few of the vast selection of the quirky offerings, let me tell you about the best part...the people! Yes, these ladies are true hostesses! I always feel like a guest at a luxury hotel in this shop. The owner, Lisa, has the patience of a saint. She actually helped me try on every single bracelet in her case until I found the right one (even while she had a full shop)! She's bright, kind, cool and so welcoming. The other lady is so cute and fun and she knows her products and her store.
