As soon as I got back to my friend's house, I realized that I needed a size 2, not the size 5 that I bought. My friend told me she'd return them for me since we were leaving for Virginia the next morning. Well, it didn't matter anyway. I really wish I had known that needles are not returnable when I bought them because the return was refused. I see now that it is clearly stated on the website under FAQs that needles are not returnable. Too bad I can't use them. Actually, I have been knitting for 44 years and this is the first time I've heard of this policy at a knit shop although there are probably some shops that do this...just not any of the ones at which I shop. So, whatever you are buying here, do be sure that you are getting exactly what you need, or you may end up, as I did, with something you don't need.

I first…read morediscovered Lyric Hill Farm's goat milk soap at a farmers' market back in 2014 or 2015 -- after buying a few bars of their rosemary mint soap, I was absolutely hooked. Over the years I've purchased different scents (all made with natural herbs and milk from the farm's goats) and even bought mini versions as favors for my sister's baby shower in 2017... get it? Soap? Shower? Ha! Most recently, I've been smitten with the lavender goat milk powdered laundry detergent. I love the charming tin it came in and it's awesome that Nancy (the farm/biz owner) will also offer refill purchases so you don't have to buy a new tin each time. I'm on my third refill and just got a 64 oz bag so that'll last me a while. It's so nice to get the scent of fresh natural lavender when I'm washing clothes instead of a noseful of chemicals. It's the little things! The farm is a lovely place to visit and a really nice drive leading up to it. Granby has some scenic roads for sure - plus, stopping by for laundry detergent gave me an excuse to hit up Grassroots for some ice cream down the road!

And he said "Im sorry", he kept saying im sorry but someone is allergic. I walked out and on my way out I said "I am never coming back here again" Ive spent 1000's in this store in the past but I will never return. My dog is an emotional therapy dog (which I did not mention because I was so thrown off that I forgot) but what if I was a diabetic and had this dog for my health, or any working dog? Those are usually Shepards and Goldens, they shed they are not hair dogs. I am just so very disappointed in the people in that store.

Since then, I have made hundreds of items, mostly knitting, but crocheting and weaving too. I have also woven my own textiles with a loom. So, when I stumbled into this store the first time I was in the five-college neighborhood, I felt as if I had gone to THE yarn supplier of the ages. And I still feel that way. I only work with wool fiber, which means each project is a bit costly and the finished item needs continual vigilance and care to keep it clean and moth-free. But, it is worth it as nothing takes dye and holds it for years, like wool. I actually have an afghan that my grandfather bought from a patient who made it over 100 years ago and it has not faded. (It is a bit dry, though, lol). So, when I decided to make a knitted blanket last Spring from one of my favorite yarns by Noro, I knew the only place I could order dozens of skeins of Kureyon in different colors was Webs. The reason is, most yarn stores, if they still exist -- they do tend to go out of business, sadly, regularly -- will only sell Noro yarns in bulk to you and they have to order them, which takes a lot of time. Webs has them in stock, all the time. I underestimated the number of skeins I needed for this blanket and was able to order extras several times from Webs, with no problem. They have wonderful discounts for buying multiples, carry every kind of yarn you can imagine, and get them to you quickly, well wrapped. What more would we want? I am also thankful that they are still here, thriving, through it all after so many years. Thank you, Webs!

I called first before going to make sure that they were open and the woman who answered the phone was very polite and friendly. When I went to the store and walked in, there were only three people in the store (it is a small store). One person was working behind the counter, and the other two were having a conversation. I was in the store looking around for probably 20 minutes and at no point did anyone say hello, ask me if I needed help finding something, or what I was making etc., etc. I'm used to yarn stores in New York City, and that hustle and bustle, but I have to say even in the NYC stores, they say hello and welcome you in--and a lot of times they ask you what project(s) you're working on, what yarn you're looking for, and if you need any help. They try to engage you. That is part of what makes for a good yarn store experience. At this store, however, there was no engagement whatsoever. I thought it was very odd. The vibe was cold. Then, I guess the one customer they had left the store, and I was alone with these two people for another 10 minutes and they still never said a word to me. I just found it really strange. In terms of their selection of yarn, they seemed to have a lot of Berroco. Some Malabrigo, and small representations of Sandnes Garn, Istex, Madeline Tosh, and Jamieson & Smith and others. The store is very clean and tidy and nicely merchandised, with numerous store samples. I think the general lighting in the store could be improved upon, but many yarns stores seem to suffer from lighting challenges. There seems to be plenty of offstreet parking in a small parking lot in front of the store. Will I recommend or go back to this store? No. Why not? - No customer engagement/strange, standoffish vibe. Decided to get crawlers, which are 4X4's and space wasn't needed. So we started to check places out. Went to a toy store, and nothing they had looked like it would survive any type of off roading. Did a yelp search and found this place. Went there, not knowing what to expect and we were surprised. Place looks like it once was a packages building turned warehouse. Walked in and first thing you see is this super-sized race track with cars going fast. Found the sales counter in the back and waited almost an hour for our turn. Place was extremely busy. Finally it was my turn. Told them what I was looking for and what I wanted to spend. He came back with $500+ model of a new Bronco. Took it out and now I understand why the price. Best way to describe it would be to say it was a full size Bronco shrunk to 1/6 scale. Real differentials, drive shafts, full suspension and so on. Anyway clerk was so helpful with me, a100% rookie. This is the place to go if you want quality items and full service.
