This was our first visit to Newington's Ollie's, and we scored a fantastic deal. I am the Committee Chair for a convention next month, and one of the participation activities for the conventioneers will be assembling kits to donate to a Boston charity for children in need. We are set on the school supply side, but we are still a little short on the socks and underwear side for 50 boys and girls. So, when I saw a "15% off" email from Ollie's, it seemed like a divine sign to make a pilgrimage to the new Ollie's in Newington. And guess what we found? How about 5-packs of boy's underwear marked down to $2.99? BEFORE our 15% discount. Thank you, Lord Ollie. Ollie's was stocked to the gills and very neatly shelved. We bought this eclectic mix of goods: a big bag of Dot's pretzels, five boxes of K Cup coffees, a bottle of shampoo, a jar of pickled zucchini, a jar of salsa, and 20 of the aforementioned underwear 5-packs for just a shocking $88. Ollie's is a fun store to browse around in, and today we made out like bandits.

We were on a time crunch, so I will definitely be back to check it out, thoroughly. They had a great selection, and I was impressed with the children's section. We also found a great selection of old school candies, and brands I haven't heard of since the 70s, lol!

So we started moving rugs ourselves which was very difficult for me because of my joint issues! After about 1/2 hour a man came from the front and sorry we have no one to help. No store Manager was available, I said why do you have signs up saying they help, then my husband asked the girl for tape so we can wrap up, she got it and gave to him and walked away!!!! I said excuse me do you have a rolling cart, this was too heave and big for a carriage, she went and got one and walked away, I felt bad that he had to do this by himself because at that point my shoulders hurt so bad, an elderly couple was there to get one also, my husband offered to help but the man was so mad, he said this is our last time coming to this place! I wrote corporate twice and called the store to talk to a manager on Tuesday, his name is Paul but he wasn't there, the girl took my info and said I will have him call, I think she was shocked as well what we went through, she was very pleasant. I will never shop at this tore again, and furthermore what kind of manager doesn't follow up with a complaint! If you don't have the help a customer then I suggest you take all the signs down offering help, we spent close to 400$ on 2 rugs! Thanks Ocean State for the help, Not, and thanks for following up on our complaint! Sounds like a couple people need to be reprimanded and actually lose their jobs! I get it's hard to get help nowadays but when you have seniors looking for any help it disgusts me!!

I've been to this Family Dollar more in the last two months than I've ever been in a dollar store…read morein my life so it's about time for a review. I'll start with the staff, they're great! They're way more patient than I could ever be. They're super helpful and always call me beautiful so I'm a fan personally. I do wish they had more on shift though. I'm always in line for about 5-10 when there but the cashiers move quickly so it's appreciated. There's a good selection and it's probably the most organized FD I've been to. Everything is easy to find and if not, again, the staff helps. Taking a star off because they never have bags. I definitely don't expect plastic, but I'm always willing to pay for a paper when I forget my reusable and they don't have any more often than not.

The cashier expressed appreciation for listening to my conversation while I walked away and in front of other customers In a derogatory way. Plus she didn't stop there, after I asked her for her managers name. She said I would gladly give you her name and what I gathered was a Jessica. As I walked out the door she continued to talk to the other customers about why she had to speak up. What was even more agitating is as I was talking on the phone she was taking care of another customer in the line. She did not even have to wait for me. I was just passing time, even if my voice was loud, This behavior was both inappropriate, disrespectful and against customers privacy. I'm confident this is not a practice employees are encouraged when it comes to code of ethics with a Dollar Tree. As a loyal customer of Dollar Tree, I have always valued the welcoming and respectful atmosphere of your store. However, this recent experience has left me disappointed. I believe that all customers, including myself, deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy while visiting your establishment. I would like to request that this matter be addressed promptly. I hope that you will take the necessary steps to ensure that all members of your staff understand the importance of providing professional and respectful service to every customer.

I try to get bang for the buck and use coupons that they offer on Saturdays ($5 off). I usually purchase household essentials, personal care items, pet food, seasonal items, and snacks. This particular one is located in a plaza next door to Apple Tree. The parking lot was spacious. I had to give a low star rating because this is probably the worst DG I've seen. They had boxes of items that needed to be unloaded every where and in every aisle. I couldn't even walk through the snack aisle with a carriage. I think they need some serious help with organization and cleaning.

This store is a huge mess. There was an isle that had piles of loose clothes all over the floor, and I don't mean in boxes, I mean on the floor. There were two other people in this isle, and I was too uncomfortable to take pictures, please take my word for it. This is not a dollar store, a lot of things cost much more then a dollar. They even cost more then what Target and Walmart charges for the exact same product. In particular I saw Dove body wash that is more expensive here, then at those stores. I don't see any benefit to going to this store, other then convenience.

This Dollar Tree is pretty filled with merchandise. All of the isles I have passed through were filled and organized. The Christmas isles are basically blinding with all the red ornaments, Santas, bows and more. The isles are clean, without any tripping hazards placed in the middle of the isles. Most importantly, the line to check out is fast. At this Dollar Tree everything is priced at $1.25. This is one of the better Dollar Trees in the area.

Just because it's Save A Lot does not always mean they are the cheapest or have the best sales on everything. Or that you should buy only here and not somewhere else. For example I don't buy ANY meats here because they always have a weird spongey taste to them. I have made that awful mistake a few times, even when buying different things like ground beef or even the pork chops on a couple occasions. They tasted awful! But for all other items including produce and canned goods there are usually good sales. My experience here is the frutis and vegetables are fresh most of the time, not all the time but most of the time. The store employees are also always willing to help, and don't make you feel like you're a bother to them which happens a lot in other stores. The one area of improvement: the floors could be a lot cleaner. There are scuff marks all over the floors which could be buff out with some effort, but overall I would recommend shopping here. (For everything but meat products)
