This was our first visit to Newington's Ollie's, and we scored a fantastic deal. I am the Committee Chair for a convention next month, and one of the participation activities for the conventioneers will be assembling kits to donate to a Boston charity for children in need. We are set on the school supply side, but we are still a little short on the socks and underwear side for 50 boys and girls. So, when I saw a "15% off" email from Ollie's, it seemed like a divine sign to make a pilgrimage to the new Ollie's in Newington. And guess what we found? How about 5-packs of boy's underwear marked down to $2.99? BEFORE our 15% discount. Thank you, Lord Ollie. Ollie's was stocked to the gills and very neatly shelved. We bought this eclectic mix of goods: a big bag of Dot's pretzels, five boxes of K Cup coffees, a bottle of shampoo, a jar of pickled zucchini, a jar of salsa, and 20 of the aforementioned underwear 5-packs for just a shocking $88. Ollie's is a fun store to browse around in, and today we made out like bandits.

I wrote corporate twice and called the store to talk to a manager on Tuesday, his name is Paul but he wasn't there, the girl took my info and said I will have him call, I think she was shocked as well what we went through, she was very pleasant. I will never shop at this tore again, and furthermore what kind of manager doesn't follow up with a complaint! If you don't have the help a customer then I suggest you take all the signs down offering help, we spent close to 400$ on 2 rugs! They're way more patient than I could ever be. They're super helpful and always call me beautiful so I'm a fan personally. I do wish they had more on shift though. I'm always in line for about 5-10 when there but the cashiers move quickly so it's appreciated. There's a good selection and it's probably the most organized FD I've been to. Everything is easy to find and if not, again, the staff helps. Taking a star off because they never have bags. I definitely don't expect plastic, but I'm always willing to pay for a paper when I forget my reusable and they don't have any more often than not.

They had boxes of items that needed to be unloaded every where and in every aisle. I couldn't even walk through the snack aisle with a carriage. Just because it's Save A Lot does not always mean they are the cheapest or have the best sales on everything. Or that you should buy only here and not somewhere else. For example I don't buy ANY meats here because they always have a weird spongey taste to them. I have made that awful mistake a few times, even when buying different things like ground beef or even the pork chops on a couple occasions. They tasted awful! But for all other items including produce and canned goods there are usually good sales. My experience here is the frutis and vegetables are fresh most of the time, not all the time but most of the time. The store employees are also always willing to help, and don't make you feel like you're a bother to them which happens a lot in other stores. The one area of improvement: the floors could be a lot cleaner. There are scuff marks all over the floors which could be buff out with some effort, but overall I would recommend shopping here. (For everything but meat products)
