Just left here. I was waiting in line and didn't want to use self check out because I wanted to be helped by an associate. This white girl that works there said "i can help you with self check out I said no and as I waited to be rang up by a person there was this short philippine or asian woman who was checking a customer out and after she finish she walked away from her register just to stand there instead of helping me. Then the other associate said I can help you. I asked about the 50% off sale on the Ashland cups and she had let me know it was not on sale and featured it was the small ones. She had a rushing aggravated tone and she was talking to the asian woman behind me like a child. RUN THE CAMERAS you'll see. It gave off when a mom drops a teen off at school and they act differently then when the parents around. The self checkout has given employees the chance to not want to interact with customers and just stand behind the register starring

Update: had to remove a star sadly. Turns out this place really punishes you for paying in cash which is a real let-down for us working-class artists! It's all robot checkout machines that *dont* accept cash, and only one teller is (sometimes) there to let you actually buy your stuff! Can someone say "take my money?" It shouldn't be this hard... Also was disappointed with the hyper religious Christian music from Nov-Jan in this store. I don't need to hear country music about how "Jesus Kingdom Will Rule All" when I'm buying yarn, thankyouverymuch. So like, still a good spot (holiday season over, whew), but has a couple drawbacks worth updating. Original review: OK, the GOOD stuff! This place has gotten so much better in recent years. It's no longer just a "crafts" store. They have LOADS of professional art stuff here, walls of different paints, brushes, micron pens, watercolor paper! Hooray! I dont like the hyper expensive Blicks and so Ill be coming here a lot more. It is a crafters paradise too - I got 100% cotton T shirts for screen printing (all colors, all sizes) for $4.99, Loads of mini clear organizer bins for 0.99 each, some fun candies, cardstock paper, and other goodies. Everything you need for beadmaking, jewelry, screenprinting, some *awesome* woodshop crafty stuff too (I got a super quality pine wood barstool here for like $11!) They do promos a lot, and like NO JOKE ITS CHEAPER THAN AMAZON. For reals! so support having local supplies and glitter and glue up those rainbow fish halloween costumes or giftwrapping / small etsy shop business supplies. It's here! Until I buy it all mwahhaa One star off for the sorta-obvious - the bosses are underpaying their workers. People were nice, but there's clearly the corporate profit squeeze like darth vaders socially distanced remote choke hold going on from the CEO's beachfront mansion

Every time I come to this location I get met with attitudes and people who don't care to help, that's if you can find them. What finally led me to leave this review was the employee named SHAWN. I wanted to buy something with cash but all the self service machines only take card. So I seen Shawn at the order pickup area and asked him if he could help since the machines don't take cash. This alone must've annoyed him because he replied with attitude saying he'd be there in a minute. I continue to wait, about 30 seconds go by and somebody asks him about the pricing for an item. He proceeds to talk with the guy, scan the item, and by now it's been about 2 minutes. THEN Shawn walks right past me and proceeds to help another customer right next to me at the self service station. Once he's finished with that guy he starts to walk towards yet another person at the self service station which at that point I had enough. I literally raised my voice and called him out for his behavior. Stating I've been waiting for him to help and he's just walking around helping everyone but me. He clearly had something against me or my cash. I would avoid this Michael's if you're looking for good customer service.

Come here for all your arts crafts and school supplies needs. Me and my girlfriend came here this past week and they had everything she was looking for to set up her classroom. The prices are very great as well and customer service is great!

With a name like that you know its creative. I needed a flag display case and my mum (with British accent) suggested this place. I was really happy she did because I don't remember the last time I was in a craft store. I think the Closest would be a Walmart (I know you read all my Walmart reviews). Anyway walking around you get more then just yard or fabric or needles. There's stickers, mugs, holiday decorations, school stuff, etc etc. Really a nice collection of stuff you can rediscover. Overall fours stars because they do have a lot of cool stuff. And you're probably saying "Well with a name like Michaels, why don't you give them a 5 hummm?" Because we don't like to brag. :) Now excuse me, me mum (with Canadian accent) is calling. M

Got a PIC programer and some other various things. After he moved to the current location thats closer to the airport I continue to buy things from him, usually emergencies when I'm short a part or have a rush on something. Hobby Engineering has a searchable website so you can see what he has in stock. The IMIM store hours are what I would nicely say Quasi-Predictable. He's basically running two businesses at the same time by himself and most business is through the mail-order/warehouse side of things however you can really tell he wants to have a storefront. I know currently he's trying for regular Saturday hours but its always best to read the website instructions. When I need something I check the website, then I call to see when he'll be around. If I'm in a rush after confirming he'll be there I'll place the order online and pay for it as a Will-Call and swing by. He has also been incredible in the past and met me at weird or late hours to pick something up. The IMIM store itself is on the second floor and he's making good progress on it as of my last visit. Quite a bit of hobby-related stuff on the shelves to browse. His speciality seems to be Robotics but a lot of general model making supplies around too. Not some much on display for general electronics but the warehouse is just downstairs so if you know he has it in stock and he doesn't have bunches of customers upstairs he has no issues grabbing parts from the warehouse. I have to reiterate, you need to read the website. Local store. One person. Hard to cover everything by himself. My hope ( and I'm sure Al's ) is that the storefront gets enough traction to warrant an employee. He's got a bunch of space and a lot of possibility.

Realizing that the store had some idiosyncratic operating procedures, I called the number on the web site. The person who answered was positively discouraging of a visit. He wanted to know what I was working on, and told me that he didn't really have any stock out to look at. I suspect that this is really a mail-order business, and references to it as a retail outlet are misinformed It would be nice if the owner changed his website to reflect that fact.

NorCal has a wide range of gifts that are hobby grade toys. They're not your typical Target/Walmart toys but a little better quality for not much more. I love the selection here. Service is key for hobby stores. NorCal excelled today as I was a little unsure how some of these hot wheels looking cars work. A man with Xmas lights necklace came out and showed how fun they can be. A 1:43 scale car can drift right out of the box! One dude started showing off a tiny RC drone, and another was busy helping a customer on RC parts. I don't know how they can staff so many people but they sure did today. Although I was expecting each gift item to be around $50 for each gift, there were some really cool micro gifts like remote control hot wheels for about $25. Last year I bought some RC warbird planes for about $100 each. I didn't see them this time around but that's ok. I want to give a proper review outside of Xmas shopping. I'll return when I'm ready to upgrade my Traxxas truck.
