So I don't like to give negative reviews, but sometimes, you gotta let people know what's going on. I came to this Pandora to make a return of some items I'd purchased at a Pandora about 50 miles away. The receipt clearly stated as long as you return you items within 30 days to another Pandora, you will get store credit. I was prepared for that, not a problem.
Unfortunately, the manager of the store didn't know their return policy. First, he tried to tell me I would need to make the return at the store I bought it from. When I pointed out to him, that's not what the receipt says here, he responded, "well we can see". What?? How does the manager not know the stores return policy?!?
Secondly, I returned a portion of the items, not all. I had already calcuated how much I would get back in credit, but when he gave me the total, it was approximately $45 less than I calculated. When I objected to the amount to be returned, all he could say was, "that is what the computer is telling me, i have no control over the amount being refunded". Thought that was a pretty lame answer, and he continued to defend the computer twice more, after I pointed out the proper amount that should have been refunded.
Worse yet, he went on to say, "oh, the person who rang you up initially did it wrong". Huh? How do you ring someone up 'wrong'? I looked at the receipt, and it looked right to me. He told me she gave me a discount on every single item, and should have run the promotional deal I had bought, separately. Why would she have to have done that? The computer knew how to calcuIate it correctly on the receipt. I know this may sounds confusing, but if you had the receipt in front of you, it was clear as day: Six charms at full price, one promotional set with the correct discount deducted from the promotion only. Not sure why he kept defending that darn computer, and stating he had no control over the return. Then he offered up the option to once again go back to the original Pandora so they could "do it right." Why can't you? Does he think we are idiot consumers?
Here's the kicker. I said, "ok, if you can't give me a full refund on the pieces I'm returning, then just return the entire purchase." He looked surprised by my statement, and said "so you don't want anything?" I told him I wanted to keep the promotional set, but not at the expense of paying full price for it- a $45 difference. That would defeat the purpose of the promotion. If he couldn't take control over that darn computer, this was the only way I could figure it out, how to accomplish the return without giving their store a $45 profit. You'd think it would be simpler that this.
Miraculously, he told me he could sell me the promotional pieces at the promotional price. Hallelujah! He actually made it work!
For the last little stab at the consumer, he let me know that the value he was putting back on the Pandora gift card was only good at their Pandora. I clarified, "so I have to use it here, it's not good at any other Pandora, or online?" He nodded, and said yes. WOW. W-O-W! What a way to drive business into your store! Kind of slimy, don't you think? I agreed, but was not happy with the attitude and lack of customer service and professionalism.
Happy news: Just to let you know, sir, I did go to another Pandora later that day, and guess what....your Pandora gift card works at another store!!! Even better, the girls at the other Pandora store thought that was pretty slimy of you to to tell me I have to shop at YOUR location. They even said, "why would you not be able to use it at any Pandora or online even?, it's a gift card." Amen.
Yay for me! What a relief! Guess I know which location I will be gloriously spending the rest of my balance. ;) read more
