Appointment is highly recommended. Stock is a bit tough to get so make sure to work with your sales associate early and be ready to buy.

If only we all wrote reviews with a little more intelligence and a little less entitlement. Dear gentle one star reviews: Bracelet-Resizing-Appointment Madam-- When you booked your appointment, you are prompted to choose between shopping or service. You most likely picked service--specifically, bracelet resizing. That's exactly what the team prepared for and provided. The boutique didn't "refuse your hard-earned money"--you simply didn't make the reservation that involved spending it. It's not personal. It's scheduling. Expecting full retail service on top of your repair is like showing up to a hair salon for a bang trim and demanding a full balayage. Without an appointment. Leaving a one-star review because your expectations weren't magically met? That says far more about you than it does about the boutique. This wasn't a customer service failure--it was an expectations failure. Yours. Perhaps next time, a little respect for other people's time--including this boutique's--will go a long way. Missed-The-Return-Window masseur"-- First, sincere condolences on the loss of your mother. But using grief as leverage to bend return policies? That's not grace, that's entitlement dressed as emotion. You missed the 30-day return window. The boutique followed policy, as they do with every client, and declined the extension after reviewing your case. Arim at Client Relations even sent a personalized note expressing genuine sympathy. Leaving a one-star review because they wouldn't break the rules for you doesn't make you a victim--it makes you someone who expected special treatment and got fairness instead. They didn't lose out on "making more money from you." They preserved their standards. And in moments of loss, one hopes we'd all focus on what really matters... and maybe not weaponize Yelp over a bracelet. No matter how gorgeous VCA's jewelry is. Now for the long overdue review: I've been a customer of Tommy's at Van Cleef & Arpels on Geary St. for a few years now, and every visit continues to exceed expectations. From the moment we walk in, Tommy always makes my family, friends, and me feel incredibly welcome. He goes above and beyond to ensure that each appointment feels special and personalized. Whether we're browsing or making a purchase, his attention to detail, deep knowledge of the pieces, and warm professionalism never go unnoticed. It's clear that he genuinely cares about building longterm relationships, not just making a sale. We keep in touch enough to share photos of travels for instance and he regularly checks in to see if any pieces need cleaning. Tommy is truly a gem, and he's a big reason why we keep coming back to Van Cleef & Arpels on Geary St. We're so grateful for his exceptional service and the thoughtful experiences he's created for multiple generations of our family over the years. Don't be discouraged by reviews that stem from hurt or entitled egos that didn't get what they want when they want. Take five minutes of your time to make an appointment online or by phone (as is highly recommended everywhere) and you'll be in excellent hands at the Geary St. boutique-- especially if you're lucky enough to work with someone like Tommy!

Beautiful and crystal clean interior, welcoming ambiance, quick and friendly service! I came to this location to get a bracelet adjusted in size. (You have a year from purchase date for complimentary adjustments.) As it is appointment only (with a 15 minute grace period), I was easily able to walk in at my appointment time and get help. Many thanks to Evan for seating me quickly, taking my measurements, helping me decide on the length I want, and the staff for making me feel welcome with refreshments and chocolates. I highly recommend VCA for the customer service and their beautiful products!

My first experience purchasing from Van Cleef & Arpels was amazing! The staff were very welcoming to me, my husband, and our two pups. I would recommend to make an appointment as we were lucky enough to get the last available appointment of the day, which ensured we didn't have to wait. Evan was my sales associate and he was so helpful, informative, and had an amazing personality. I would definitely recommend requesting him!! With his assistance, he helped me decide which necklace looked best on me. I am so happy with my selection! Needless to say, I will definitely be coming back to this Van Cleef in the future and requesting Evan as my sales associate. (:

Thanks for the heartfelt condolences, friend.

I missed the return window due to my mother's funeral and clearing out her house 2000 miles away, and asked Van Cleef to exchange the gift item after my wife thought it was too small - which was first opened the night before, for the next size up. They refused the exchange, wherein they would have made more money from me. The website appointment scheduling is garbage and offers distant appointments when it works. A terrible shopping experience, I would absolutely AVOID them for a critical purchase like an engagement or anniversary gift. Luckily, this was just a small birthday item. 100% won't be going back, even for that. The look of the jewelery is less charming and whimsical once you know who is selling it. Caveat emptor.

The new standalone VCA boutique is very beautiful. There's a wine bar and seating area with couches. Currently you can only get in by making an appointment. I came in to get a bracelet adjusted. Evan helped me and he is very professional and friendly. I have came back with 2 friends who purchased items. Evan took his time with us and let us try on different pieces. I highly recommend Evan.

The work is prompt, prices are more than fair, and the quality of the work they perform is impeccable. They even warranty the service for one year, which is stellar! This review is long overdue…read more Such a bittersweet review for me... I inherited my late mom's beautiful Vacheron gold watch from the 1970's that was no longer working and missing a part. I did extensive research and decided on Seregin's and I'm so happy that I did. Not only were they friendly/kind and super professional, but this watch, being a relic, and extremely thin and intricate, at this point, was a hard one to fix. Paul, the owner, went above and beyond, connecting with his own network to find the parts that were no longer for sale publicly. He called me multiple times to confirm the heftier price tag that parts and service would cost and when the timeline would be extended. When I came in to pick up the final product and he listened to my story of my beautiful mother and the watch, he truly had compassion and added to the story of this watch. This wasn't a faceless transaction and for something like an inherited treasure, that truly meant something to me. Overall, they clearly know their business here, from your more normal watch to luxury pieces. They care about the products and the customers they service.

I was first turned on to Shinola by my husband - He's a big watch guy and sure does love a Shinola!…read more Shinola is a luxury watch brand with its home store located in Detroit in a gorgeous historic building. The company has quality craftsmanship and each product is designed and built in a handmade production. Not only do they offer STUNNING watches, Shinola also has Leather Goods, Bicycles, Clocks, Lifestyle Accessories, Journals {which can be custom printed/monogrammed - and makes the perfect gift}, Wallets & Handbags {I already have my eye on a beautiful Hobo bag} and so much more. Yes, we've ordered a few products off the website {and purchased in the now closed Palo Alto location}, but this review is for the San Francisco location. Located on Hotaling Place, there will be plenty of street parking on the surrounding blocks {use the Pay By Phone parking app}. The building itself is located on a narrow road in the Historic Whiskey Warehouse - It's a Gorgeous store! The shop will typically have an opening to enter into the Filson store as well but because of Covid restrictions, you do have to enter/exit from each store individually. The team is taking every Covid-19 precaution: Limited access into the store, Hand sanitizing station located at the entrance and around the store, The team walking around wiping down surfaces, Masks worn by all guests & team members as well as all products sanitized before and after they are touched/tried on. Speaking of the team, they are all so fantastic at this location! It is always service with a smile and service that goes above and beyond most retail experiences. They allow you to shop and browse around the store and they all have an extensive knowledge of the products should you have any questions. They also make the check out process super easy and provide beautiful complimentary gift-wrapping if needed. Way to go, Shinola - Fab service each and every time I'm in the store! If you are in the market for a new watch or some amazing hand crafted luxury goods - Shinola is a great place to start! And if I'm ever in the Detroit area, I am booking a room at the Shinola Hotel!

Well, customer service just isn't what it used to be, am I right?…read more Tried for days to order online a new watch strap and the website concerning shipping certain items to California is horrendous. Figured I'd go into the store on the weekend, because they would surely have a large selection of watch straps in all sizes and materials--that was not the case! After some back and forth with the store clerk, she indicated that she could place the order and have it shipped. After being on the struggle bus for over ten minutes, I asked to see the order one last time before paying. Of course, despite my very clear instruction that I was seeking a 20mm watch strap, she had the wrong size. Oops! If you're looking for top-notch customer service, maybe best to try another location. For the price point and value, this experience doesn't instill much confidence in the brand after being a loyal customer for a decade. Felt like I was shopping at Foot Locker. I totally get the complaint that Shinola is just a nostalgic version of Fossil or some other middle-of-the-road watch company, but I have tried so hard to like this brand. Do better folks!

Unfortunately, I was at a festival and lost it so I wanted to replace the watch as soon as possible. I don't have a Swatch store anywhere near me so that's not so easy. They did start selling some of the Moonswatches online including the one I had, but I knew I was going to SF soon and that the store would be down the street from my hotel. Plus, some new colors and models came out that I was interested in. I was taking a risk because collectors buy certain ones up and often wait outside the store for new drops when they release. The watch I was interested in was the grey 1965 which had just come out. I came into the store and was greeted by the staff. I told them my predicament about losing one and wanting to replace it, but also about my curiosity to see other color ways that aren't available to me in SC. They asked about all the color ways I was interested in, brought them out, and added a couple extras that I might like. I was able to compare them all right next to each other and see the small differences like between the Mission to the Moon and the Moonphase which are super similar. I ended up leaving with the 1965 and I'm so happy with it. I even bought a watch for my friend who bought me the initial watch I lost as an extra thank you and to remedy my prior carelessness in losing the first one. Now all is right in the world and I love my new watch. I have to shout out the staff too who were not only helpful, but patient while I made my decision. Plus while I was picking out the watch I was gifting to a friend, one of the female staff members offered to try it on her wrist so I could choose the right size for my female friend.
