I am a new patient of Dr. Michael Vallarta. This dentist does all of his own cleanings. I think this is wonderful. I had a very comprehensive exam, X-rays and cleaning. His dental assistants were both very friendly as were the front desk assistants. The waiting room was small but very comfortable. The restroom was very nice. A five star visit is a good start! After seeing another dentist for many years, it was hard to make the change. I looked at reviews, proximity to my home (in Concord), etc. I have now been going to Dr. Vallarta for almost two years and I am so happy I found him and his amazing team! For the most part my teeth have had no major issues; however, for the first time (in my 40's) I had to have a crown put on due to a cracked tooth. He made me feel at ease, gave me my options and guided me through the whole process. I have always enjoyed going to the dentist...especially for my every six month cleaning, but...a crown changes things (haha). With all that said, I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND Dr. Vallarta and his ENTIRE TEAM! Dr. Vallarta is awesome! He is friendly, attentive, and a good listener. His work is quick, accurate, and painless. He cares about his patient's concerns and he explains the pros and cons so clearly. When I accidentally chipped my tooth, he was quick to call me back to set up for an emergency filling the next day. And when I had my implant done, my face never swelled up afterwards with minimal discomfort. Also, never have I met a dentist with the lightest hands, and he's got it! Don't let Dr.Vallarta do any dental cleanings if you have any crowns. When cleaning a top crown that was crucial for my top partials I had to make him stop due to an intense pain and tasting blood, he had to finish the cleaning with a standard scraper. The tooth hurt and continued hurting after the appointment even though I was there for a completely different issue and had never had any pain in that tooth before. The following week the tooth was loose and I notice my tooth the crown had been attached to was broken. I waited over a week to see him again since he was on vacation and when I finally saw him he claimed it had nothing to do with his cleaning and crowns just break sometimes. He also got very defensive and tried blaming me since I had to cancel my original follow up since I didn't have a baby sitter but must have forgotten that the follow up was for a tooth on the bottom and had nothing to do with r the tooth HE BROKE. I now need to replace my partials with top dentures since the tooth he broke was crucial for my partials and it's going to cost me a lot of money. Stay away from him if you have any crowns because you'll be stuck with the cost of fixing them if he breaks them and he will try to blame you for it breaking. read more

I was seen the same day I called, and had a very pleasant experience. I have not been to the dentist in years, because of negative experiences that felt like my needs we second to maximizing profits insurance claims. Not with this dentist! I will definitely be back, finally found a long term dental professional to help me. I had a tooth extracted, that over the last 21 years has had 2 root canals and 3 infections, time to part ways. Needless to say, I was very nervous. I felt no pain, and minimal discomfort (after all, I was having a molar removed). I never had any major dental work done before today. Never a cavity, never anything. But I switched jobs and moved, so my insurance was new, and my wisdom tooth had been hurting BAD. So I called this morning and they got me in by 11AM. The tooth had to be pulled, and I figured as much, but was full of anxiety. Needlessly! Sylvia the assistant was SO sweet and made me feel super comfortable, helped me through the whole thing, and Dr. Vallarta had the tooth out in under two minutes. I didn't feel a thing.
