Dr. Dang is an outstanding and very skilled dentist. His team is very professional. My recent visit was almost 3 hours and I was very pleased with the outcome. Dr. D performed a digital image of my teeth and showed me how crowns are made in the office. High tech - right! I've been a patient at this office for about three years and have always maintained my regular cleanings until the past year, when personal circumstances delayed my visits. For the past two years, I've been experiencing recurring pain on the lower right side of my mouth, and last weekend the pain flared up enough that I called to schedule an emergency appointment. Over the phone, I was told the appointment would be for an emergency exam and one x-ray, which I agreed to. When I arrived, however, I was told that I was also due for a full set of x-rays and a cleaning, and that I could come back later that afternoon for those. I explained that I only had time for the emergency visit and would schedule the other services for another day. Once I was seated in the chair, the experience unfortunately became very uncomfortable. The doctor entered the room visibly upset, and the first thing he asked me was, "Why are you here?" When I explained I was having pain on my lower right side, his response was dismissive and he kept repeating, "Well, what do you think you need?" instead of examining me. The focus of the conversation quickly shifted to the fact that I was overdue for a cleaning, rather than addressing the reason for my visit. As someone who has worked in the dental field for over 20 years, I understand the importance of preventive care, cleanings, and x-rays. But I was there for an emergency concern, and it was disheartening to feel as though my pain wasn't being taken seriously. In the end, my tooth was never examined or treated, and I left the office still in pain. I also left with the impression that the financial aspect of my visit mattered more than my actual dental health, which is not the experience any patient should have. I truly did not want to write this review, but I feel it's important feedback. I hope that in the future, this office can focus more on listening to patients' concerns, addressing the reason for their visit, and treating every patient with respect and care--regardless of how "small" or "big" the appointment may seem. read more

I have nothing but all good to say about Brighter Day Dental. My experiences with this dental office have all been extra ordinary, past and present doctors have been absolutely remarkable along with all the staff. Been back there twice this year so far. First time was for a tooth extraction that had been given me problems for the last year or so and the second time was for a follow up and general cleaning done on the same day by Doctor Dang. It's typical to have a hygienist perform the cleaning but Dr Dang went above and beyond to make sure my teeth are well taken care off that he did the cleaning this time. I was on osteoporosis medication for a year and because of this he's taking extra precaution to make sure I'm healing properly. Everybody in this office are very ethical and with outstanding bedside manners. The front office staff are also very customer service oriented and very detailed in explaining recommended procedures and addressed billing questions professionally. Don't go here if you have a small mouth. When their xray sensors were too big for me to bite down on, they had no alternative to offer me and kept repeatedly telling me my mouth is too small and I'd have to find an old dentist using less than standard-of-care films. My mouth is a perfectly normal mouth, it's gotten me through life just fine so far. Skip the body shaming and look elsewhere. read more

I made an appt for 11/6/23 to see Dr. Dokko based on both Yelp & Google reviews that were extremely positive. There was no lie told!!! Dr. Dokko is an incredibly personable & conversational dentist who is very open to educating his patients. For example, did you know you should be brushing your teeth with floss (in addition to using a tooth brush)?? I had never heard of such a thing and now that I do that, makes total sense. I had a follow-up appt (11/16/23) to repair existing/get new fillings. There was mild discomfort with the anesthetic versus actual pain I've experienced with other dentists. He had told me in my previous visit it would take 45 min. From the time I arrived (5:30pm) until procedure completion 6:15pm), it was EXACTLY 45 minutes!!! Setting an expectation and then keeping it is VERY important to me. The office is very clean and (to me) very calming. They also have monitors at each patient station. Why you ask? Because before beginning any procedure you are asked if you'd like to watch something on Netflix!!! I feel that is going above and beyond to make your patients feel extra comfortable during any procedure that may be uncomfortable or cause anxiety. Last but not least, the staff!!! They are all engaging and make you feel very comfortable and greet you with a smile when you walk in. Then there is office manager extraordinaire 'Miss Janette'. My first interaction with her was over the phone. I have never had an appt conversation with a dental office manager that was so enjoyable, I felt like I'd made a new friend. I cannot recommend this place enough. While I never think I will be excited about Dental work, Brighter Day Dental does great work. Their staff is friendly and helpful, and the quality of the work is exceptional. Jannette at the front desk is thoughtful and thorough in ensuring I know what procedures are going to be done and how to maximize my insurance coverage. Gaby, the dental assistant is kind and comforting for the anxious patient, and the Doc is skilled and concerned about your experience. I drive in from San Leandro because when you find a place that truly takes care of you, it's worth the commute. Avoid this place at all cost. Appallingly bad service. My son was seen for an infected tooth, and told it needed emergency extraction. They charged my card $600, then the doc came out to say it "wasn't worth his time, financially, because it would be a 2 hour appointment" (and he could only charge for one tooth). So after basically admitting that he refused to help unless he could pull 2 or 3 and charge more, I asked for my money back and a receipt. The receptionist said she didn't know how to print a receipt. Half an hour later, I'm still standing at the counter while she tries to figure it out. Never got that receipt. read more

This place is the BEST. I got a real bad cavity recently and went to see Dr. Dokko for the first time. He examined the tooth and scheduled me in for to get it fixed. During these time it is SUPER hard to get in. He is a perfectionist and did a excellent job with my tooth. Gentle and made sure I was comfortable with my procedure. Place was super clean and modern. He has a machine that can make the crowns there. Did his procedure super fast, about a hour less than my previous dentist. Made sure my I wasn't in pain or with discomfort at anytime. This was actually making going to the dentist fun!! After I was done Janette texted me to make sure everything went well and if I needed anything. Dr. Dokko is my forever dentist!!! First time patient and really happy my friend referred me to this practice. The staff is friendly, yet very professional. Communication from the day I called for an appointment was efficient and appropriate. I was so pleased to see the very up to date equipment used in this practice. Dr. Chul Dokko is super careful and thoughtful with the exam, cleaning, and patient education. He explained everything he was doing and his observations about my teeth were easy to understand. I love their service as always. Dr. Dokko is very thorough and professional. But the main reason I am writing this review at this time is about their new laser procedure for snoring! My husband recently had laser procedure for his snoring by Dr. Dokko, and thank goodness gracious !! He is not snoring anymore. I can have good night sleep without waking up from his thunderstorm snoring sound !! Yes, it is pricey, but it totally worth every penny. December 2022: I like to see the good in people so I will sum it up as you dr Dokko having a bad day. Though sad to say I was the first patient at 8:00 am that day. So maybe you had a rough night??? I have been a patient of yours as far back as 2016, granted due to fear of dentist and being on tight budget underlying medical conditions and all I had not visit the dental office till today. I am told I need denture work I ask is this going to cause me to have to go on disability; as I can't be off work you interrupted me and said If it's about disability I don't want to be involved ????Then continues that he has no time for me today and that I need full mouth x-rays until he can determine what treatment is needed. He starts muttering I don't know why this appointment was made today anyway??? I have never felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed at how I was treated. And to think I allow you to walk me to the front office to set up a follow up appointment. I finally came to my senses a few hours later and I called back to cancel the appointment. Dr. You have lost 2 patients. You are not even deserving of 1 star. Responding to your comment of my asking you to do something unethical or illegal: you are a true LIAR I NEVER asked about disability claims to pay for my dentures you just assumed that and nastily cut me off. I simply asked you if the procedure would entail my going on disability as I can't afford to take time off from work. HOW DARE YOU? Stop lying to all that can see this review. read more

Dr. Dokko used new technology which very few offices probably use to replace a filling that fell out. No uncomfortable injections in the gums and no drilling just a laser.
