I've been a patient of Dr Janis for years now and he's seen me through everything from routine check-ups and cleanings to fillings and crowns to emergencies and through a pandemic. Throughout all of it he and his staff have been pleasant, engaged, professional, and as comfortable as possible for this high dental anxiety patient. I particularly appreciate Dr Janis' calm demeanor and patient approach. He takes his time during use of Novocain to ensure that I'm fully numb before beginning any work. I'm not just a patient on the conveyor belt. He treats me (and I presume all his patients) with respect and attention. His office is compact but has state of the art equipment. His exam rooms have air filters running for covid protocols. I've always had enjoyable interactions with the staff from reception to hygienists. I have always been a huge fan of the dentist. I thank the 80's and the generous use of 'the nose' back then. Fast forward many years later and though I no longer get 'the nose' (insert loud sad exaggerated sigh here) I still have an appreciation for the dentist. Headgear, braces TWICE, all of the everything-else in between was worth it and Dr. Janis has helped me keep my smile healthy and pearly white. I just had the best teeth cleaning I have ever had. Thank you Noelle at Dr. Janis' office. Was it because I had not had one for some time due to the pandemic and before that, work? Or was it because it was the best dang cleaning of my life? Does it matter? Noelle and Sue have been amazing. They are engaging, patient, attentive... you name every positive thing you want in someone working on one of the most sensitive parts of your body - they are that!!!! They consistently check in to ensure I am never uncomfortable during my cleaning and are so gentle and friendly. Dr. Janis is professional and kind. He listens and delivers information in a way that is easy to understand. His office gives wonderful recommendations and makes me feel like family. Dr. Richard Janis and his staff of professional and personable workers go above and beyond. The environment is friendly and comforting which is nice for someone who can be intimidated my doctor offices. I had a minor chip to my front tooth and after leaving Dr. Janis' Office I was all smiles. The office to my knowledge takes many different insurances. Genuinely nice people! As soon as I got to the office I was greeted and seen right away. I came in for a cleaning and exam. The woman that cleaned my teeth was so sweet. What I really liked is that she explained what she was doing as well as gave me tips for home care. I expressed my nervousness and she shared her personal experiences which made me feel much better. Dr. Richard came in and examined me. He was quick but I could sense that he was confident in his profession so it was easy for me to feel at ease and trust what he was saying. I have not know dr. Janis very long but I do have to say he is a wonderful dentist and he took care of me very quickly! I had an emergency beginning of July where I knocked my two front teeth out. I don't have a regular dentist that I go to and I didn't even know if I had insurance. I called dr Janis office and they told me to come right in and they fixed my teeth in less than 2 hours. I can't explain how happy I was with the results and the best part is I didn't feel a thing! The whole office was very nice and helpful. The lady at the front desk was very nice as well. My husband and I were patients of Dr. Janis from 2014-2016. We enjoyed going to them. We have since moved to Germany and have lived here since June 2016. Since late 2016, I have continuously told his office that as of 10/03/2015 I was on my husband's MetLife account. I keep telling Lisa the office Manager to please submit my claim to the correct MetLife account and she continues to not do this. I have given her the correct MetLife account number and showed her a screenshot showing she has not submitted a claim for me. MetLife has verified this too. Is there anyone in your office who can ensure that my outstanding claim is correctly filed to the right MetLife account?. Please be aware that Dr Janis office may not file your claims correctly or say you owe them money when you do not. The same happened to my husband. read more

I have known Dr Janis even before he moved to Concord. Once, I was going to Hawaii on a trip and broke my upper left first molar. Dr Janis did an onlay for me and the lab was very quick. He cemented it on time for my trip and I was happy because it was tooth colored and matched perfectly. Later I found out that it was extra special because Dr Janis did an onlay for me, not a crown, and therefore was able to save much of my original enamel instead of drilling it. I know that not every tooth is eligible for such great treatment but I'm sure happy he did that for me. Dr. Janis told me recently that it is his preferred technique to drill away the least possible tooth to do the job. So, I feel good about recommending him. read more

I recently had a filling break off and I didn't notice until it started to hurt. This is what led me to the great staff of Dr. Richard Janis. First, I posted to a local facebook group if anyone could recommend me a good dentist that was affordable and caring. Not only did Dr. Janis employee, Melissa, respond to my request. She made me an appointment, sent me the paperwork, and even guided me through how to go about getting some temp filling from the local drug store to stop the pain. Melissa did all this at 11:00 P.M. Now, let me tell you about me and the dentist. I grew up going to Western Dental in Concord. After years of what I would consider legal form of torture, I have grown to despise going to a dentist. In fact, having served in the military I told the staff at Dr. Janis I would rather go to Iraq then go to the dentist. I also suffer from an issue of where it is really hard for me to get numb, usually requiring extra shots. From the moment I walked in the door it was a pleasant experience. Melissa greeted me by name and right away had me in the back getting the x-rays done. One thing I loved right off the back was the welcoming atmosphere and the fact that Dr. Janis keeps the practice simple. There are no fancy bells and whistles here, which in turn means great prices for me as a patient. Do not disregard this place because of the lack of "fancy" bells. This place is awesome. I had my x-rays done in the same chair I was going to be worked on. I was used to going to a separate room for this at other locations. Now comes in the other part. The actual work done. First time I met Dr. Janis, he spoke to me like I was a person and not just another appointment. Dr. Janis put me at ease, as so did the rest of his staff, as they could tell I was nervous about having work done. Again, I can fight wars but dentist for me is a no-no. Once we discussed the work I needed done for the day, Dr. Janis took a great amount of time to ensure that I was properly numb. I have a huge sensitivity to pain in my mouth and Dr. Janis was great in dealing with it. He flat out told me he'd rather I be over numb than under. That was great for me. Once the work began, the staff was great. Everyone performed their job 5/5. Dr. Janis also keeps your mind at ease by actually telling you what he's doing throughout the process, which was a new experience to me. It was nice to hear "we're almost done getting the filling out" or "that should be the end of the drilling." These things make for a great doctor. In closing, Dr. Janis office was great. I didn't have insurance so I paid out of pocket and the price was excellent for the work I had done. I would gladly recommend this Dr. Janis and his staff anytime. read more
