Mike is truly the most professional contractor I've met. I've worked with him on a few projects over the years and most recently consulting on a major home renovation. He's prompt, knowledgeable, honest, meticulous, funny, and most of all knows his craft. read more

Michael is an excellent project manager. He is extremely timely, very responsive, and always punctual. The sub-contractors he used were extremely professional and did amazing work. I received a few other quotes from different contractors to remodel our original 1950's bathroom and Michael was the most professional and was able to meet our budget in a timely manner. Michael is a consummate professional and I would recommend him for any job. read more

Michael and his business partner did a great job on two smaller projects we had- framing in closet and installing two doors. They are both very informative, detailed in their work and always responsive. You can count on him to provide competitive pricing, be on time and on budget. He's also a great resource to refer other services - they work with an incredible and reasonably priced architect, plumbing, electrical, concrete, etc... I highly recommend them! read more

Michael Murray Construction - Master bedroom barn door - General Contractors Near Me

Michael Murray Construction just finished a project for us. They did wonderful work. You can't tell where the old part of the house meets the new part. He matched stucco color and texture perfectly. It was a difficult project that two other contractors declined to bid on but MMC easily completed it. I especially appreciate how easy he was to work with and how clearly he communicated schedules and such. We will definitely be using them for our next project. read more

Michael is a breath of fresh air when it comes to working with a contractor. He is direct, reliable, honest, responsive, easy to communicate with and extremely detail-oriented. He has done two projects for our family so far and each one was on-time, on-budget and he left our home cleaner than he found it. I really appreciate that he is very attentive to the small details, for example, when installing a new sliding door he went out of his way to find the perfect transition piece and get the wood stain perfectly matched before installing. Many others we've worked with would slap something in and call it done, whether it perfectly matched or not. Michael does very high quality work. read more

Michael was our first choice for general contractor for a complete deck demolition, redesign and rebuild at our home in Petaluma. From the start, he visualized a comprehensive design that incorporated the details we were interested in and allowed for changes we might want to make in the future. The process was smooth but most of all, Michael communicated with us every decision that had to be made. He presented us with 2-3 clear solutions to any situation that needed our attention. We never felt out of the loop. He told us his day-to-day schedule in advance so we were aware of days we should expect him and his employees. He referred us to other professionals with whom he has a long standing relationship. We felt confident in his referrals. He reminded us of decisions that we needed to make so he could stay on time and move forward. The quality of the work is fantastic. Our deck is now something we love to show off to our friends and family and we will enjoy it for years to come. All in all, it was a great experience and we will definitely be working with him again. read more

Sooo much better! Our first week of enjoying our new mater bathroom. We have a 1950s home and the master bath was just as old. Dated, dark, and gross. While we had to stay within the same size/footprint Michael was able to transform our bath to an updated marvel. The custom vanity is beautiful and the tile work just makes everything look better and seem bigger. The shower, which used to be a corner stall is now the full length of the bathroom. Michael has a great eye for space and provides great recommendations for colors and textures. Loving our new bathroom! read more

We originally hired Mike to handle new window installation and was so impressed by him and his crew that we stepped up to a full master and hall bath renovation. Mike introduced us to a top notch architect who designed a fantastic new space. He provided valuable direction in identifying suppliers for all the materials from tile to fixtures and helped us get great deals in the process. The rooms came out beautifully, on time and on budget. I highly recommend Mike Murray. read more

Michael did a phenomenal job on our deck. From the very beginning he was a great partner and offered really solid advice. We always felt he had our best interest in mind. Every person he's recommended too has been great. The finished product also speaks for itself - our deck is now our favorite part of the house. I can't recommend him and his work enough! read more

We had a plumbing emergency that required tearing up the tile in one of our bathrooms. After dealing with plumbers, insurance agents, and assorted fix-it-dudes, it was a pleasure to work with Michael. He was very flexible and fit us into his busy schedule. He gave us a decent price on our estimate and didn't jack it up later. He also gave us a reasonable price on resealing our other showers. We will definitely call Michael again in the future should the need arise. (And I pray to Odin it doesn't.) read more

Positive: Michael responded to my email quickly, and even contacted me again to set up an appointment. Negative: Unprofessional manner of speaking. Unfortunately, on the phone, the minute he heard my kitchen budget, he became incredibly condescending. I absolutely didn't pull the figure out from lack of research either, in fact, I have quotes for everything I needed done EXCEPT installation of cabinets, and he was way, way off base. I can't say anything about his ability to do the work, obviously, but there are plenty of talented contractors that still know how to speak to a gal. read more

Michael has been an invaluable resource and a pleasure to work with in a substantial renovation of my new home. He saved me hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars. He is very knowledgeable, honest, direct, responsive and sensitive to my budget as well as my taste. He follows through with everything he says and is timely. I am so delighted that I found him to help with the project! Every recommendation he made was great and enhanced the value of my home. He was also direct about items that were a good return on investment and those that were not. He sent me to all the right places for best choices and held my hand through it all. I highly recommend Michael Murray Construction. read more

Michael responded within a couple of hours to a call I made after 5pm about an emergency construction project which was a result of finding considerable dry rot after the walls were opened up to address mold. He met me at the work site that next morning and, though he was not available to do the job within our short time frame, he offered a multitude of valuable information and resources to folks that could help. He explained a lot of things I did not previously know about the construction process...what we need to do and to look out for. We will definitely be offering Michael other jobs down the road if he is available. He's a very straight shooter, reliable, a family guy who I could tell has a lot of integrity. That's hard to find in construction from my experience. read more

Michael did an amazing job transforming our 1920's San Francisco Victorian kitchen and bathroom into something more modern and functional, while still retaining the original charm. Updates included installing custom-made counter and cabinets, a dishwasher, sink, backsplash, ceramic floor tiles, and all of the electrical, carpentry, and plumbing that goes along with such an endeavor. Michael had been recommended to us by a friend, and I was thankful to have someone with experience that I could trust to do quality work. When faced with unforeseen predicaments due to the age of our house (like the water heater going out!), Michael was able to overcome all obstacles and get the job done. He was dependable, honest, and provided many recommendations and resources that contributed to the success of the project. Most importantly, he was onsite the entire time and personally saw to it that everything was executed according to plan. I'd recommend Michael to anyone who is redoing their home -- from remodeling one room (like a kitchen or bathroom), to updating the exterior (we had our house painted as well), to completely renovating the entire house. read more

Mike construction was totally unprofessional and did the worst job ever on my deck. Nothing is to code the whole deck is falling apart. And on top of it he left all this smoked cigarettes all over my yard took my 8000.00 and never came back to fix. Called trusted dale and he was rude and arrogant. read more

These guys did really good work rebuilding some rotted framing and siding and paid close attention to detail to make sure it came out smooth and looked top-notch in the end. They also added the right protection to prevent rot from coming back. Just like going to the dentist to fix cavities and rotting teeth except without the pain! Michael is also down to earth, enthusiastic and willing to discuss the work in some detail so the right decisions can be made beforehand. I look forward to working with them again. read more

Michael Murray has been working for my family for over 15 years. He recently completed a major rehab on a four bedroom house that we own in Tiburon. The house needed close to $200,000 worth of work, including a new garage from the ground up, and three new decks. Michael provided thoughtful advice on how to get the most out of my budget. Michael and his team do very high quality work, and Michael did a great job of managing the many subs that were necessary for the project. I particularly appreciated his advice on where - and where not - to spend money. He is honest and trustworthy and I felt that he was always looking out for my best interest. I would highly recommend Michael Murray construction. read more

Michael inspected two windows that we thought needed to be replaced because of leaking and age. Instead of going along with this assessment and making $, he told us there is nothing wrong with the windows, that they need to be recaulked outside and that the leaking would stop. We will call him from now on whenever we need a professional, honest and reliable contractor. read more

Michael Murray is a wonderful contractor - always there to help when needed. Our house has been flooded twice during terrible storms and he has come immediately (even on a major holiday) to help us "dig out". He is honest, reputable and a very hard worker. I highly recommend Michael for any type of work. He is efficient and always follows up to make certain everything is o.k. read more

I had Michael come over for an estimate for a leaky windows and dry wall repair. Although he decided not to take the job (too small), he was a wealth of information on what needs to be done and how to do it correctly. I found Michael very personable and upfront. If I do remodel my kitchen, bathroom, or add a wine cellar, I will definitely give Michael the opportunity to bid. read more
