If you are looking for a partner who will go above and beyond to make your kitchen dreams come true, then call Rich DiCola immediately. I'm a fussy consumer. I spoke with many independent designers and cabinet specialists before finding Rich and realizing he was the person I was looking for. First, he is a wonderful person, who cares deeply about customer satisfaction. Second, he understands that every client has a different vision for their kitchen and is willing to work with them to achieve their goal. Third, he comprehends the idea of a budget and works diligently to adhere to your needs. Fourth, he's got an eye for design and this is a significant benefit of working with him. My kitchen project morphed into a bonus office, half-bath, and full-bathroom suite. Rich listened to all my needs and worked with me to incorporate all the little details. He's well-connected with the right professionals to get the job done. Rich's recommended contractor, Chris Solberg Construction, was excellent. His subs all came out to assess the project as part of the bid so I had a very realistic idea of cost before we started. Even with Rich's recommendation, I triple-bid the project and Chris's estimate was fair and developed with a lot of due diligence. Both Rich and Chris looped me in on key decisions as the build-out occurred, which meant all the important details I cared about got taken care of. He made countless suggestions that made the whole project better at the end. I was a novice at the remodeling process. If you are doing a kitchen and bath, all you need is Rich. Don't waste time with architects (sadly I did), just book an appointment with Rich and you won't regret it. Did I mention that my kitchen is beautiful, functional, and will be my family's gathering place for many years to come? Thank you, Rich! I am so glad to have found you. read more

I recently worked with David from Novato Kitchens and Baths on a full kitchen remodel (including wall removal) and the result is stunning. I still can't believe that this is my kitchen! David was an absolute pleasure to work with from beginning to end. From the first time we met, I felt like David "got" my design style and we clicked on both a professional and personal level. He took time to listen to what I wanted and helped bring my vision to life, while maximizing the space and functionality. His 3D design solidified my decision to knock down a wall, and shopping in the showroom made the potentially overwhelming process of picking out cabinets, countertops, hardware etc. a breeze, leaving me with zero doubts about my final selections. David not only "seconded" my contractor of choice and recommended a draftsperson for the architectural/ permit drawings - but also remained helpful, responsive, and hands-on throughout construction. read more

Rich DiCola was instrumental in shepherding us through a very challenging kitchen project. We were changing the floorplan, moving walls, skylights, electrical and plumbing all at the same time. We also wanted a number of bespoke cabinet features but didn't have the budget for full custom cabinetry. Rich showed tremendous patience and skill in navigating us through this complexity. He was able to offer insight and input on all facets of our project to ensure the final result was cohesive and exceeded our (very high) expectations. He was able to creatively work with the installer and the cabinet manufacturer to create custom-like results while using standard cabinetry. Rich is a straight shooter with an excellent eye for design and impeccable attention to detail. I could not have asked for a better overall experience read more

We worked with David to create a beautiful and usable space. David evaluated our kitchen and drew up some really great 3D plans. It was fun to walk through the plans with him, it felt like we were on an HGTV show. He made use of our space and added a peninsula that we hadn't previously considered and it is a great addition. We have so much storage now too. Also, the showroom has LOTS of products from cabinets, hardware, counters, sinks, etc. David also referred us to a contractor and with the two of them - they worked magic! I truly loved working with Rich DiCola on my new kitchen remodel design. He guided me and challenged me to think outside of the box, while respecting and valuing my opinions and desires for my dream kitchen. I love the results! My contractor, David Nickelson of Sonoma Building Associates was amazing to work with. His team did amazing work. David communicates beautifully and kept me in the loop constantly. He monitored the progress and the project went very smooth. David is a perfectionist and has an incredible eye for style and design. He is a creative and innovative builder, who had many solutions to some of the challenges along the way. My home is nearly 100 years old and Rich and David worked well together to create a design and flow that honored the timeline of the house, while giving me everything I wanted in a super-functional kitchen. Novato Kitchens & Baths - New kitchen by Novato Kitchen Design and Sonoma Building Associates. I'm in love!!!!! - Kitchen & Bath Near Me - Novato, California

Rich de Cola at Novato Kitchen and Baths is the best! As I posted on 5-24-21, he did an amazing job redesigning and remodeling my master bath. I reached out to him again when I decided to re-do my kitchen and guest bath and once again I am amazed and so pleased. Everything looks fabulous - cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, sink etc. His designs ano ideas are spot on, and he spends the time to get to know what your taste it and what you would want to live with. He doesn't just suggest what is currently the trend. He also really has his clients' interests at heart, and makes gentle recommendations about other things to consider in a remodel, even though he doesn't make any extra commission by doing so. He convinced me that since I was already having so much work done, I really should also redo the flooring in the halls, living room and dining room, repaint those rooms, and upgrade the lighting track in the living room at the same time. He suggested flooring types, picked out paint colors and lighting fixtures. I am so glad he 'pushed' me to do this because he is right that otherwise I would have wished I had!!! read more

Rich DiCola at Novato Kitchen and Bath made our kitchen remodel a pleasure. We spoke to several other designers and contractors before we found Rich, but they didn't seem to listen to what we had in mind. Rich heard us, respected our tastes, and also provided wonderful input and suggestions that improved the final product. He was easy to work with, knowledgable, always available, and simply a nice guy. Perhaps most important was the ease with which he made everything come together. He guided us on the process for getting our permit drawing and introduced us to a wonderful contractor with whom we worked, and responded promptly whenever we had a question along the way. Rich made knowledgable suggestions about appliances and other finishes. His expertise is deep and trustworthy. My husband and I recommend Rich without reservation. We're glad we found him, and we love our new kitchen. read more

We had Novato Kitchens and Bath design our recent kitchen remodel and can't be more pleased with the outcome. We worked with Rosalind who was fantastic. She was a great listener and quickly picked up on our style. Roz was easy to work with showing us a lot of options. She had a lot of ideas but didn't force anything on us. One of the most significant aids was her ability create a 3D model of our kitchen which looked identical to our after construction finished project. This removed any big surprises as we were able to "see" what things would look like in picture form before we actually started any work. During construction, she was attentive and quickly got with our contractor when issues arose and worked them to a positive outcome. We highly recommend Novato Kitchens and Bath to anyone considering a kitchen or bath remodel. read more

If you read through the reviews of Novato Kitchens & Baths, you will see the consistent theme of amazing customer service. Our experience is exactly the same. Our project designer is Davie, and this review reflects the experience we've had. Let me start by saying that David is highly skilled in his designs, in his suggestions, and in the way that he truly takes his time to "learn" his customers. This personal touch and development of the client relationship makes the heavy lift of a kitchen remodel more manageable. From day 1, we knew that we had David on our team! We had initially planned our kitchen remodel in October 2019, and finally got around to scheduling the appointment with David in December 2019. Unforeseen circumstances required us to reschedule that appointment. David was kind and understanding, and very compassionate when we explained our situation. We immediately knew that David was someone who cared about his clients. When we finally got back to rescheduling, we were thrilled at how thorough (and fun) the design process was. David presented us with ideas and materials that I don't think we would have considered, but his keen eye for design and detail perfectly blended our aesthetic style with the material choice and our budget. A kitchen remodel is no small project. But I cannot say enough about how much easier it's been with David on our team! David takes the time to check-in with his clients. He coordinates important scheduling and installs with contractors and builders. He makes himself available. He emails to see how his clients are feeling about timeframes, materials, and is available to answer questions that arise. Again, David is a consummate professional! Like the many reviews before this one, we will be back to use Novato Kitchen & Bath for our next bathroom projects - and for us, it's all because of how amazing our experience has been with David! read more

Last year we worked with kitchen designer David Kiljanowicz on the Novato Kitchens team, and it was a wonderful experience. Remodeling a kitchen can be an overwhelming endeavor, and David did a great job guiding us through the entire experience. He knew exactly what order things needed to be decided on, what a realistic timeframe was, and how to navigate obstacles. Our contractor loved him too. We couldn't have done it so efficiently without him! He's a lovely person. read more

I was referred to David at Novato Kitchens and Baths by my contractor, and I couldn't be more thankful for the recommendation. From day one, David was a joy to work with. He is not only very skilled at what he does, but he is so easy to work with. He designed custom cabinets and a master bathroom vanity for us, as well as helped us purchase bathroom fixtures and beautiful countertops. I was really clueless going into the project, and he helped me figure out what would look best in the space. Our master bedroom and bathroom have received so many compliments. Everything turned out amazing. I highly recommend Novato Kitchen and Baths. read more

Rich DiCola is a fantastic designer with a wealth of experience. From the moment we met at the showroom, he took the time to listen to us and own/turn a kitchen remodel design in record time for a complex, large kitchen. He worked on a complex corner pantry and his design was superb to all the other ideas we had explored. He kept us posted as we worked with him on supply chain considerations, celebrated with us when we received the cabinets and was onsite coordinating with the contractor to ensure the kitchen was professionally installed. He is proactive, approachable, direct and straightforward with the contractors and a pleasure to work with. He truly cares for his customers and we highly recommend him and his team. Thank you Rich and I wish more contractors were like you! On top of all that we absolutely LOVE our kitchen! read more

I purchased some kitchen fixtures from Wes in 2021 and, come 2023, have gone in a completely different design direction that required new fixtures. Though it was well beyond when I could return my (still boxed) items, Wes offered to put the word out to designers he knew to help me sell them. He truly went above and beyond and I am so appreciative of the help in offloading these perfectly great fixtures. Thanks, Wes! read more

Rosalind Demello from Novato Kitchen and Bath was extremely helpful and professional in the entire process of our kitchen remodel in November 2022. The cabinets are beautiful. We had numerous problems with the contractor who installed the cabinets and this was no fault of Rosalind. She offered to meet with the contractor to review the plans prior and during the project. When the install went bad, she was helpful in solving the issues to get the job completed. I would highly recommend Novato Kitchen and Bath for any remodel project. read more

Bear with me because I'm going to give a fairly detailed review... this company richly deserves it! We own a 1968 ranch home in Sonoma that we purchased in 2003 after moving here from WA state. It needed a lot of work and we renovated only half of the spaces before our budget ran out. We lived with the original kitchen, avocado appliances and all, until our recent kitchen update which is now 99% done, just lacking ovens and dishwasher on backorder from the manufacturer. We began the process about 2 years ago by visiting and considering about a dozen cabinet suppliers and about the same number of general contractors. We just could not get completely comfortable with any of them until we found Novato K&B. We set an appointment with Roz and began an epic process of planning and purchasing. She was an absolute joy to work with! They handle several lines of cabinets and we settled on Columbia (also known as Solera for some odd reason... two websites, same products). Columbia is a Canadian company and we were impressed with the value. Very well made at a reasonable price partly due to the exchange rate of the Canadian dollar. I'm an architect so I had done most of the floor planning but we relied on Roz for the details of cabinet sizing, finished panels, and features. She uses an advanced CAD system that interfaces with the manufacturer's catalog that enabled her to accurately specify every item. Roz also came to our home several times to verify the measurements that I had entered into my own CAD system and we eventually came up with super accurate dimensions before placing the order. This is very important to avoid installation challenges. Roz recommended Hartnett Construction, a general contractor that she had worked with many times so we went with her suggestion since we were not overly pleased with the others we interviewed. We had to wait several months for Hartnett to become available but the wait was well worth it. I'll be entering a review of them shortly. Suffice it to say, we are VERY pleased with Hartnett. When the cabinets were delivered to our home, Roz was here meticulously checking off every item on her order list. Ultimately, there were a few small errors but she was always quick to take responsibility and order what was missing or incorrect. Considering the size of this job, the few errors were entirely forgivable since Roz quickly remedied them and they didn't hold up the job significantly. The working relationship between Novato K&B is excellent so they were able to easily work around these blips. Every construction job has glitches and it helps when key players have a history of working together. We began in September 2017 and are just now finishing up in April. The project had two month long delays due to our evacuation during the fires last October, and some inferior work by a subcontractor that we had chosen ourselves... the only sub not part of Hartnett's crew. That's all behind us now. I can't recommend Novato K&B enough and have given Roz permission to refer prospective customers to us for a conversation about our experience. I hope this is helpful. read more

I have worked with Novato Kitchens and Baths for over 25 years. I send all my clients to Roz to have their kitchens and baths designed there. She always gets the cabinets right. If they were wrong it would be a huge delay for my clients. It's great to know you can count on her. read more

We can't say enough about how great Rich was to help with our new kitchen remodel. We absolutely love the way it turned out! From the moment we met with him, he gave us his time and attention. He was great with the design plans, and did a wonderful job with the installation. We also so appreciated his personal touch throughout the process, his responsiveness, and his communication with our contractor. But most of all, it was his amazing care to make sure that we were happy that would make us want to refer him (and David) to anyone. We promise -- you won't be disappointed in working with them! read more

It was our first kitchen remodel so we interviewed three local (Novato) kitchen design businesses. From the outset, it was apparent that David with Novato Kitchen and Baths was the most knowledgeable, open to our ideas, and very pleasant to work with. He listened very well and helped us arrive to the best design for our space, within our planned budget. Although supply delays with COVID made our timetable longer than anticipated, David was communicative throughout. He was very organized and meticulous and this ensured our order would be correct and avoid any further delays. He worked very well with our contractors and stopped by on delivery day to double-check measurements and again after the counter install, just to check in. We had several questions throughout the project and he always answered in a timely manner. The contractors commented on the high quality of the cabinets and also noted it was easy working with David. It was a real pleasure and two months later we continue to be thrilled with our new kitchen! Thank you!! read more

We decided to start a kitchen renovation to our home that we just purchased year and half ago and had got recommendations to seek out Novato Kitchen and Baths for their help. We got the pleasure to work with Rich and he has been amazing through this whole process! Rich has been so easy to talk with and very quick on answering all of our questions. I had a wonderful experience working with Rosalind at Novato Kitchens when I was a designing a very large project in Sonoma County. Since I am a San Francisco based Interior Designer, it was important to me that I use a vendor that I could easily turn to that was familiar with Sebastopol. Rosalind was not only familiar but she became by eyes and ears when I could be at the job to oversee what was happening with the kitchen and bathroom cabinets, all of which I specified through Novato K&B. Rosalind went ABOVE & BEYOND. There are so many details that go into cabinets, and Roz did not skip a beat. She also assisted in providing usual plumbing fixtures that was needed. To summarize, I will ALWAYS turn to Novato Kitchens and Bath when I am designing in Sonoma or Marin County. It is a company that is full of talented honest people. Ask for Roz, and you will be putting your remodel at ease :). Thank you again! read more
