I honestly cannot say enough good things about Maven Maintenance. To start, Craig, Vinny, and their team kept constant communication with us on the process regarding the repairs we needed. They gave up front and transparent pricing that was very reasonable. In regards of when they got to work, as soon as we signed the contract they were ready to go the next day. The work they did was repairing drywall on our ceiling and wall after a leak. You cannot even see that there was a hole there before. Blended beautifully and the matched the color to be identical. When our water mitigation company left a mess, their team not only cleaned up after them but painstakingly covered our floors to protect them. We just moved into our home and have a list of renovations we would like to do. We are 100% only using Maven Maintenance. read more

Hired Craig and his crew to modify a wall oven cabinet cutout and install a junction box for a new oven. Craig was immediately responsive and accommodated a last minute request, which I really appreciated. The crew was communicative throughout, answered every question along the way, and walked me through everything both during and after the work. That transparency gave me a lot of confidence in the job. Would absolutely hire them again. read more

I worked with Craig and their team on a garage repair project. They did an excellent job, and repaired it like there was no damage before. One of his guys, Felix was always punctual, communicative and easy to work with. Will definitely consider them for future projects as well. read more

We had our family building painted by Maven Maintenance. They were on time for all appointments and quick to respond to any inquiries. They tirelessly worked for 7-8 weeks and got it done quicker than expected. They even had a colorist help with the color of paint to use. During this project, they found dry rot along the windows and rust under the stairs, which they eliminated and repaired. The crew was pleasant and always informed us prior to fixing an issue and would let us know if they will be working rather than not showing up. The building looks amazing now! We're very pleased with the results and outcome. Although the proposed amount was adjusted due to dry rot, it was a reasonable amount to cover the cost of extra work. They even took care of some small details for the gate around the property and parking area. We would highly recommend them! read more

We've used Maven for several repair projects of varying size at our family's building, including roof repairs, drywall replacement, and an exterior stairwell repair. They've always done a stellar job, with great communication and very fair pricing. Highly recommend! read more

I needed to update/renovate my condo's kitchen and bathroom. After researching, I found Maven Maintenance had all the right qualifications for what I needed. Jerry, the foreman, did the walkthrough, making suggestions from demo work, updates on electrical and plumbing. I was amazed! Maven was very thorough, efficient and professional. I bought new cabinets and appliances and bathroom tiles that I like and thought would make my condo look great. The employees installed everything and put a fresh coat of paint throughout the whole unit to top it off. I suggested they weatherproof my windows since the seasonal rains were coming and Maven did it one day. I was very impressed. read more

We used Maven to rebuild an exterior stair and do some exterior house-painting. Craig and Jerry were extremely responsive in their communications and expertly navigated the permitting process. The construction crew did great work and were friendly; the painting crew worked very quickly and efficiently. All work was done on time and right on budget. We are very pleased with the results! read more

I reached out to Maven to have the exterior staircase of our apartment building repaired and repainted. Communication with Craig and Jerry was prompt and easy to follow. I reached out to Maven to help address some work that needed to be done in the stairwell of our building. We needed to add some additional slats and renovate parts of the railing. They did an absolutely amazing job. You can't even tell that the additions were not part of the original historical stairwell. They were extremely responsive, came out quickly, provided me a timely thorough estimate, and did the work with total professionalism. I will absolutely use them again! read more

Working with Craig and crew has been awesome. We used Maven Maintenance to install a water filter system (requiring drilling into granite countertop) and prep + paint a bedroom wall, and they exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, they were incredibly easy to work with--very responsive and professional throughout the entire process. They were clear in their communication, made sure everything was done right, and I trusted them to get the job done well. I would absolutely work with them again and highly recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable and skilled maintenance work! read more

Great experience with Maven on a small project in our office. Fast communication from both Craig and Jerry, and crew was also prompt, friendly, and completed the work with attention to detail. read more

We did a large bathroom project, a total gut renovation, and came out the other side with two fully remodeled bathrooms. We hired Craig and Jerry on a mutual friend's recommendation and were able to view their work beforehand in a friend's house. I liked Maven's structure because rather than subcontracting major parts of the job, Maven maintains a full time staff of plumbers, electricians, painters, drywall guys, etc. Jerry, the foreman, is very conscientious and knows the ins and outs of city code/inspections. Jerry got us thru 6 city inspections. They were also helpful in pointing us in the right direction for materials, and explaining issues that came up during the job. Change orders were not overly burdensome. We were living onsite thru Covid for the entire job so we had a lot of interaction with the team, and we found Jerry, Alex, Carlos, Pablo and Jose to all be pleasant and professional, as well as diligent about mask wearing on the job. We live in a condo building and they were able to navigate the challenges that come with that, and our neighbors and the Maven crew got along well. We would hire them again once COVID is past us for a few more projects we have in mind down the road. read more

I always use Maven as they are trustworthy and care - I'm always nervous about letting people into my property but over the last 15 years they have become family to me- they help me when I need a small job done like replacing a washing machine - to helping with painting a room, disposing of large amounts of rubbish during a clear out and helped me convert a room into a bathroom getting the appropriate permits with the city. read more

A year ago I found Maven and had them come to repair a plumbing issue. Since then I've had them return for various repairs at my rental property. Recently I had them refresh one unit and I am very happy with the results. They are professional , knowledgeable and easy to work with. The turnaround time was brief and the work superb. The staff members are very pleasant and their goal is your satisfaction. You can't go wrong with this company. read more

Maven did an Amazing job painting out building. It was a complete exterior paint job, but they did it with a (very) minimum of inconvenience to the residents. We have used Maven Maintenance for both small maintenance and larger remodel projects in multiple buildings for many years. They recently completed a mid-size tenant improvement project for us, during Covid, over the holidays, with multiple constituents. Much to our delight, it was completed on time, and on budget, yielding a very happy new tenant. You can't go wrong with Maven! read more

My 3-unit HOA hired Maven to rebuild our front exterior stairs a few months ago. The crew was fantastic. Excellent, thorough, careful work. They arrived on time or early every day. They kept the job site clean (which we appreciated since we were living there). The entire project was on time and on budget. I docked one star because of some communication issues: We occupants had planned to move out while some of the work was done and had arranged temporary housing. With a few days' notice, the order of work was flipped and we scrambled to adjust our housing arrangements. However, the crew went above and beyond to ensure we were able to return home after one week instead of the expected 3 weeks. I look forward to working with Maven on future projects. read more

I have had the pleasure of working with Maven Maintenance for the past 15 years. For the first 13 years as the President of the Francisco Palms HOA, I worked closely with Craig Lipton, Jerry Gora and their crews on the maintenance and upkeep of one of the largest TICs in San Francisco (17 units). They consistently did fantastic work and were extremely reliable. Keeping 17 unit owners happy was not an easy task, but Maven's work helped make it easier to do so. When we purchased a single family home in early 2019, I chose to continue working with Maven. They have done extensive work on the property and we are always impressed with the quality of work across the spectrum (painting, electrical, woodwork, landscaping, etc.). I highly recommend them. read more

As a property management company in San Francisco, one of our biggest issues is fast and efficient vendors. We have completed a couple dozen unit turnovers with Maven Maintenance and they have always done an amazing job! Maven is very quick, clean and efficient which are very big prioriteis of ours. They even went as far as to provide specially requested invoices to our accounting department, which showed there desire to go above & beyond for their clients. We have and will continue to recommend Maven Maintenance to colleagues, friends and family. read more

As Leasing Broker and Property Manager in SF I get asked if I know of any "GREAT" maintenance crews who can handle repairs and also remodels, I send all of my clIents to Maven. Craig and Jerry do great work, take care of their crew / customers. and are very responsive. 5 stars! read more

As an operator of property management and real estate brokerage firm in SF, I occasionally get too much on my plate to handle everything with coordinating apt remodels, handling sales activity, and the daily operation. At those times, I know I can call Maven and give them some of our workload with the confidence that the work will be done efficiently, on time and on budget. I currently manage 2 properties formerly owned by Craig Lipton where 90% of the units were remodeled by Maven. These buildings run very smoothly and vacant units are often the easiest to rent. In the recent past, Maven Maintenance has completed full apt renovations which included kitchens and baths entailing electrical, plumbing, tile, drywall and finish work. They have always done a nice job and I will continue to call them and recommend them to others in the future. read more

Totally satisfied with out first contract with Maven Mantenance. It was a full exterior paint, 5 window replacement (with extensive trim work needed), and some interior plaster repair/painting to match. All of the work was properly completed, it all looked good, and was thoughtfully done -- by which I mean he attended to all the details and special attention items that they discovered (and cleared with us) along the way. We are really happy with the work. The workplace was fully cleaned up each day, both interior and exteror portions, and the workers were nearly polite and low-key -- almost silent in their work. As a long distance owner, I appreciate the good communication with Vinny (our project manager) and the office throughout the process. When you cannot see the work in progress, those updates and pictures were a good substitute. Also, Vinny handled the neighbor relations very well, which avoided any issues or hard feelings. Lastly, they accommodated my weekend visit for the final inspection, no problem. Based on other reviews, I expected really good work. And they exceeded my expectations because 1/ they discovered a few site conditions that they addressed without ambushing me with crazy expensive change orders and 2/ they kept on schedule and communicated their progress. Truly a professional outfit. We will go to them again. read more

They are too busy to bid jobs. Contacted on March 6, 2021, after several "missed" & cancelled connections over the next 2 weeks, finally met with them 2 times over the course of the next 4 weeks, with varied excuses as to why they still hadn't bid the job. Finally on April 26th, I signed a contract with another business still never having heard from them. As a professional courtesy sent an email to advise, only to get back another excuse that they were dealing with health issues over the past week. Sets you up to not be critical, but doing it anyway. I forgive the last week, what's the excuse for the 7 plus weeks before? I get everyone's busy, please say so early on so we can find someone who isn't and wants the work. For a rental renovation business they don't appear to understand the concern of a vacant unit. Guess they are good if you can get them? Can't say.... read more

I am the treasurer at the Francisco Palms complex in the marina. This is a building with 17 units that Maven Maintenance developed. Since 2006 our building has hired Maven to perform a wide variety of tasks from cleaning the gutters to repairing a roof leak after a heavy downpour of rain to repairing the garage opener. The team are respectful, hard working and bill fairly. As a result I used the team to help me install an additional bathroom in my apartment. This involved, moving the pipes, tiling, submitting plans to get planning permission, getting the permits. At the end of each day my unit was cleaned and it was left as though they had not been there during the day, It was a great service and a really good price! Other people in the complex use the team for their small projects from altering their kitchen lay outs to moving light switches. read more

Maven Maintenance recently completed a kitchen remodel in a rental property for me, and I was quite happy with both the process and the result. They were easy to work with; knowledgeable, reliable, easy to communicate with, and efficient Jerry Gora managed the project. He listened carefully to what I wanted to do, made some excellent suggestions and, once the project was underway, went the extra mile for me, doing some extra work that he felt would improve the result. He really tries to do a righteous job and take care of his clients. He and his crew also tried to minimize any disturbance to my other tenants, particularly appreciated during COVID when they all worked from home. I really appreciated how they handled this job and would definitely use them again. read more

We hired Maven to remove the vinyl siding from the front and entryway of our Richmond district home and then restore the cement facade and paint it. The crew, led by project manager Vinnie, did a superb job all around. They showed up every day rain or shine, kept our garage and all other work areas tidy, were clear about timelines and budgets, and were easy to communicate with via text and in person. It really felt like Vinnie was invested in the outcome and wanted us to be happy. The house looks terrific and we'd recommend Maven to anyone looking for a skilled, trustworthy team. read more

Look no more, Maven is company you've been looking for. We hired Maven for an exterior painting of a 5 story building in Richmond district, SF. These guys work good, fast, and clean. Vinnie, the foreman, did an amazing job by keeping everyone happy, the owners (us) and the tenants. Craig, is the type of owner you don't find anymore. ALWAYS available, attentive, and responsive. The project was finished in the beginning of this year, but we still contact Craig for the construction and business needs not related to the job he did. Definitely 5 stars. read more

I hired Maven Maintenance based on a referral to assist me in helping me close out a Notice of Violation with the City due to loose concrete on the front facade of our building falling into the public right away of pedestrians. Being a very aggressive project manager in the city of San Francisco and dealing with more than a hundred of contractors in my career i can honestly say that Maven Maintenance went above and beyond to play ball with me. People that know me know how i like to run my projects and over stress to the detail because I DO NOT LIKE TO MAKE MISTAKES!!! Especially dealing with other peoples money, wouldn't you agree??? In this case Vinny (Project Manager) took care of the day to day operations of my project and in a very very long time i honestly felt comfortable to let this project run itself with minimal supervision based on the fact that they demonstrated the professionalism, knowledge and determination that it took to successfully complete this project given a strict dead line and setting this project to the highest standard of the industry. I was constantly updated daily and never kept in the dark which was a big plus and even Craig the owner always kept a healthy line of communication at times emailing his reports at midnight and forward. That right there says a lot to me about this company, Regardless of the time it seems they don't stop until their workload for the day is complete and or the customer has received their update which i am very keen on. I would even find myself conversing with Craig(Owner) way past after hours via email in preparation for the next day. As you can see two people handling business at midnight is not very common, with Craig it was as it shows that he loves what he does. At the end of the day i received a fully painted historical building accompanied by all the necessary concrete repairs needed to clear out our notice of violation with the city, and including extra detailed items that was not on our original scope of work. Regardless of what i wrote above here are the important Q&A's that everyone is looking for. Remember this is coming from someone who managed over 450 Buildings that includes HOA's, Residential Homes and High Rises in the city of San Francisco and also educated myself in Business Law and General Construction Trade so for me to take this time and write this review was a pleasure seeing other contractors respect the trade we all love. *Would i use them again? YOU BET! *What i would refer them to others? Definitely *Where they easy to work with? Very easy going professionals with knowledge of the trade. *Where their prices reasonable? Reasonable based on the industry rate with being open to negotiations when it made sense to do so. Thank You Maven. See you on the next one. read more

We recently purchased a property in San Francisco where we needed to do a major remodel on a unit for one of our family members. This required taking the walls and ceilings back to the studs, rewiring and new plumbing along with removing walls to enlarge the space. On the suggestion of a Realtor friend and Yelp, we decided on Maven. Timing was a real concern and they have performed unbelievably well. Their workmen are of the highest caliber producing beautiful workmanship and a truly great result with the minimum effort on our part. Their crews are fully supervised at all times and the job site was always clean and neat. We have been able to accomplish more than we expected and are very happy with them and their budget. In short, we can not recommend them highly enough. read more

We closed on our Pac heights condo Nov 30th and set the move date on Jan 15th. We wanted to redo the bathroom, open up the wall in the dining room and do a bunch of smaller things like painting the place. The time fell over the holidays when we were away. Maven turned out to be a great choice for us, Their foreman, Jerry, reassured us that everything will be done on time for our move in . He brilliantly managed the job, his guys worked every day, Jerry took time to understand our needs and, was proactive about getting supplies and materials, and was very flexible and helpful throughout the job. We were worried that we wouldn't finish on time, because we really needed to move out of our old place on schedule. And this was over the Christmas and NY holidays as well. But Jerry and his guys were great. They did plumbing, electrical, and other general contracting. Overall, we had a doorway enlarged, a bathroom redone, and bunch of other smaller things. As things came up (eg we discovered windows were stuck), they helped us resolve them. The job finished on time, on budget (reasonable) and we were able to move in. Afterwards, they helped us with some final, last minute items. Overall, we highly recommend Maven for remodel. Maven is reliable, reasonably priced and easy to work with, Jerry really took our project to heart and delivered, Thank you, Maven!!!! read more

I manage a 257 unit apt building in the SOMA District. We contract out all our apartment turnover work. Maven contractors came in, did the work, and finished on time. Many contractors in this neighborhood come back to me and ask questions over and over again until I begin to think it would be faster to do it myself. Maven contractors left me alone to deal with the other problems I had in the building. If they needed more paint or supplies they went and got them on their own. I recommend their work. read more

I have used Maven for renovation of three of our apartments. They did a good job at a very fair price and I will continue to use them. I also bought 2 buildings from Maven 5 years ago. Their experience is also helpful in my remodels because they have probably remodeled a similiar apartment and can offer layouts that will improve the units. read more

I came upon Maven Construction when they remodeled a house next door to my house in early 2013. I found them to be professional and knowledgeable contractors. As they worked next door we took advantage to get our roof redone, exterior painting and some minor repairs on the property line between our house and the remodel. They did a great job and the price was reasonable and fair. They are clean workers and the owner Craig and Foremen Jerry are easy assessable. They will work with you and your neighbors so as to keep every effected happy. So this year we decided to remove our tub and put in just a shower. We called Maven and no one else. We are again extremely happy with their work and working with us to decide the best matching tile solution to go along with the existing tile. It was more work then we figured and the price and craftsmanship superb and fair. Thanks Craig we will be back again for sure. read more
