I had previously changed three angle valves but this particular valve did not have much tubing. James quoted an initial $195/hour plus parts for a minor job in a Yelp project estimate. 12 days after the Yelp estimate, during an afternoon visit, James asked what I wanted to do. I replied that I needed a hot water angle valve change, another plumber will change the wall pipe, and I will install the garbage disposal, p trap, and faucet and dishwasher lines. I expected an estimate but James surprisingly and loudly challenged my knowledge of plumbing, stated that he is cheaper than the wall pipe plumbing company, and stated that he can do the entire job in three hours at $195/hour plus parts. James stressed the project is difficult and that he can easily do it while I cannot. My wife in the living room found it strange that a plumber is hard selling after the other plumbers simply provided an estimate, came into the kitchen, and stared down at this condescending and impolite plumber. Four months later, the irrigation pipe snapped clean off at 2am last Sunday. When I asked them if they could fix it, they refused, saying they were too busy and told me to call a gardener. The gardener found the connection they made was completely misaligned and the "T" fitting was cut too long, forcing the joint and putting constant pressure on the irrigation pipe until it broke. They refused to take responsibility, claiming I would have seen flooding (wrong- my main was leaking 600 gallons an hour with no flooding) or that something hit it, which the water company confirmed started at 2am on Sunday. This was their work, their faulty connection, and their problem to fix, but they won't make it right.

I called Small Job Plumbing as I had a kitchen sink drain that wouldn't drain. I had tried to…read moreunclog it by taking apart all the pipes, and even running a short snake through the drain outlet. I obviously needed a plumber, and seeing as I have never called one before I checked Google for plumbers near me. I started to read reviews. I saw that Small Job Plumbing had very good reviews, although there was one that was not very positive. I then read the owners response to the review and knew this was the company for me. I was not disappointed. I find when someone gives a one star review there is always two sides to every story. Frank, the technician came over and diagnosed the problem by putting a camera down the front and rear clean outs. He located the blockage quickly, and he then recommended a clean out using a Hydrojet, rather than a snake. He explained the advantages of the Hydrojet and said that not only would my current blockage be taken care of but the other pipes would also be cleaned at the same time. No damage to the pipes as it is a high pressure water jet. The job was completed in short order, the work area was cleaned up and a the drain pipes were checked for leaks. If I need a plumber again, I will be calling Small Jobs Plumbing. Plumbers are not inexpensive, however when you look at not only the time to repair, but the expensive equipment necessary to do the job I felt the cost of my repair was certainly fair.

The only issue I had was not being able to get service / flushing for my hot water heater because it's a tankless version they were unfamiliar with.
