I called them to have my 3/4 Lb garbage disposal replaced and the first question I was asked was how many people live at your home. (1) They then said that I only needed a 1/2 lb unit which would save me about $300. When Logan Baswell showed up he immediately attempted to repair my old unit and succeeded. Jeff Baswell and Logan replaced a very old shower valve along with the shower head and faucet. I love this new system!!! They were prompt, professional, and gave me a better bid than two of the three other plumbers I received estimates from. While I didn't choose the lowest bid, the lowest bidder kept trying to upsell me. Ugh! In fact, when I asked Jeff and Logan about something that "upsell" plumber had told me we needed, they said "absolutely not, completely unnecessary." I highly recommend Jeff Baswell and his team. Fantastic quality, punctual service and for an excellent price! My family needed a toilet and kitchen faucet replaced and I called around to far too many plumbers before Baswell came in and finished the job. Jason was an excellent technician and did a great job in record time! Next.... saw the site for Baswell and completed the simple appointment request form and received confirmation. I could even upload pics so they knew what they were getting into. He showed up on time. I needed a plumber to fix the toilets in both bathrooms that were allowing sewer gas into the house, a clogged shower drain and low pressure in the master shower. After several plumbers flaked out on me, I contacted Baswell. They sent someone the next day. A plumber and assistant showed up, replaced the wax seals and and caulked the bases. They cleared the clog in the shower but could not figure out why the pressure was low. I came into discuss. The plumber suggested that it was the shower head. I told him that I had tried several and they all did the same thing. He threw up his hands at that point. I decided to pull the shower head and run straight out the feeder pipe. When I did, a rubber restrictor flew out. I now have plenty of pressure and a shower that actually feels like one. I was charged for fixing the pressure and the overall bill was , to say the least, excessive. I'm a retiree on a fixed income. Why so freaking greedy? I'll pay the bill but I won't be calling them again. I'm giving them 2 stars because the plumber was a nice guy. I should note that the caulking on the base of both toilets has already shrunk, leaving gaps 2 weeks after they were here. So, bottom line, if want to be overcharged, contact Baswell! read more

Boswell plumbing is very friendly on the phone. Jeff came out to the house and checked the drainage pipe 11 days ago, but never gave me an estimate or returned phone calls in spite of several calls to the office. If you don't want to do the work, just let me know. Or at least let me know when to expect the estimate. I'll be calling another plumber. read more

WARNING! They charge for travel time to and from your home!!!!!! And they don't warn you about this on their web site, nor when booking an appointment. Their effective billing rate, of $125/hr, turned out to be MUCH MORE, when you factor in that they charged for travel time, which other plumbers don't!! The plumber was at our home in Mill Valley for around a half hour, yet the labor charge on my bill was $187.50. When I called to complain, they explained that they charge for commute time, and offered me a $31.25 "discount". REALLY! Some discount. Maybe i'm lucky they didn't charge me for gas or a new set of tires.? read more

Wonderful service, fast, friendly and reasonable. Plus they're local. Once before when I had a plumbing/sewer problem I called one of those rooter services I found in the yellow pages. They had a Marin number and said they could be here in under an hour. Two-and-one-half hours later they sent a young kid (from Concord) who spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong. We found Baswell through the "Bay Area Consumers Checkbook," where Baswell was listed as the NUMBER 1 best plumbing company in our county. Jason's first visit was so informative, including that he let us know that most of the parts we needed (valves/disc for sink faucets, kitchen soap dispenser etc) were still under warranty from the manufacturers. (This after the first bid I got from another plumbing company told us that all new parts would need to be ordered, sending the quote for some fairly small jobs at over $1600!!!). After receiving the parts under warranty, Jason returned and did a great job taking care of everything. He is a real nice, knowledgeable man, informs the consumer of every detail before he gets to work, answers all questions, and works very efficiently. Everything works great now, and we were so pleased that our bill (all labor b/c we had the parts) was only a little over several hundred dollars, including the first visit. There are so many plumbing companies out there charging excessive prices for both parts and labor. We were very happy to find Baswell (and Jason!) will continue to call Baswell for any future issues. Jason has come out twice to snake out a clog in our sewer line. He is courteous, efficent and knowledgable. Best Plummer hands down. Baswell staff are prompt, HONEST and skilled. Did I mention HONEST? Jason replaced 2 toilets in under an hour and quickly diagnosed AND fixed another issue in a subsequent visit. By comparison another Plummer that will remain nameless (it's a president's name) spent the entire time trying to sell me on their annual service.
