He gave me a quote up front and there were no surprises. He showed me the additional issues that were not fixed by my simple replacement, and when I asked questions he offered to teach me how to do the larger replacement myself. He was patient and walked me through all of the steps including a thorough check. He showed me where there was still moisture after his initial install, walked me through his troubleshooting, made an adjustement, and ran another thorough check. The whole thing took about 30 minutes, and I am now confident I would be able to do more if not all of the replacement on my own. I did not expect the whole thing to be fixed so quickly, and have never been invited to learn what to do! I am so appreciative of Noah's friendly patience and efficient work. My issue is with this service and not with the company necessarily, so I updated my review and increased my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. I appreciate that a real person found me and reached out by phone and text. I am waiting until our actual appointment in 2 days to speak to a real person before I add any further stars to this review. ***UPDATED AFTER ESTIMATE VISIT*** I ultimately did not go with these guys because of their pricing, but the fellow who came to my house was incredibly nice and had been sent with a message from the main office to apologize profusely and provide the best service possible. This company really cares about their customers and their reputation. If I were just a little bit richer, I would be able to choose my service provider based on kindness and not just price alone. But for now, my budget dictated that I go with someone else. From this last experience with them, I highly recommend! (But still hate that AI, Dave, that answers their Yelp messages)

The short review is this: Martin is a wizard! He sucked a 2 lb. Piece of metal out of my main line…read morewith a shop vac, saving me thousands of dollars in repair costs! The details: I called Martin after a clog removal by another company went sideways (probably the topic of a no star review in the future). The first company identified where the problem was, but also caused a spill of sewage inside the house, then quoted me $5k to dig up the pipe and really fix the problem. To no one's surprise, I wasn't happy. So I called AHJ for a second opinion, and Martin answered the call. He spent a good 20 minutes on the phone, asking me detailed questions about the problem, and explaining my options (the other company did none of that). He made no guarantees, but said he thought he could solve the problem, so I asked him to have a look. He was at my house within 3 hours. The line had two objects stuck inside, causing backups. Martin worked to jet out one of the objects out, then used a camera to inspect the entire 80 ft. length of the pipe. The second object was still there, though, and it looked like digging was the only option. However, this is where the real magic happened! The second object was about 12 ft from the clean out, and it was not budging. Martin, however, thinks outside the box. He got out a large shop vac and stuffed the hose down the line. With the help of his camera he aligned the end of the hose with the obstruction and started up the vacuum. It took a while and was not easy work, but Martin eventually pulled out a 8" long, 2 lb. solid steel spring! That's no exaggeration (How that got in there I'll never know). It was Amazing! He also documented everything with his camera and thoroughly explained everything that we could see. So, I now know all about the good, and the bad, of my main sewer line, should any future problem arise. Thank you, Martin, for the exceptional service!

I then hired two other plumbers to come out and snake it, and neither was successful. One of them even told me I needed to redo a good portion of my plumbing for over $5,000! I found Rock Solid Drains after that, and they told me that all they do is unclog drains and that they have the equipment necessary to clear difficult washer/utility sink drain clogs. John from their team came out and within about 15-30 minutes had run a snake through our washing machine drain line, cleared the blockage, and had our plumbing working exactly as it should again. These guys are great if you have a drain clog that you can't clear yourself or that a normal plumber doesn't have the right equipment to handle. They solved a problem that two other plumbers couldn't, and did it for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend Rock Solid Drains.
