Our chrome p-trap failed and I attempted to replace it myself. There were further signs of corrosion in some other pipes and still a small drip, so I wanted to have a professional take the next steps. I was given an accurate 2 hour arrival window and got a text when Noah was dispatched, about 15 minutes before he arrived, which was helpful. Noah was great! He gave me a quote up front and there were no surprises. He showed me the additional issues that were not fixed by my simple replacement, and when I asked questions he offered to teach me how to do the larger replacement myself. He was patient and walked me through all of the steps including a thorough check. He showed me where there was still moisture after his initial install, walked me through his troubleshooting, made an adjustement, and ran another thorough check. The whole thing took about 30 minutes, and I am now confident I would be able to do more if not all of the replacement on my own. I did not expect the whole thing to be fixed so quickly, and have never been invited to learn what to do! I am so appreciative of Noah's friendly patience and efficient work. I scheduled an appointment through Yelp and no one showed up. It turns out they use an automated AI to schedule appointments. I took the morning off from work to meet the technician only to learn that the appointment has not actually been scheduled because I did not answer the question, "are you the home owner." I took the morning off and wasted my time because of this automation. I'm sure they're a great plumbing service if you can actually get hold of a real person, but I'm so angry that my time was wasted. ***UPDATED SAME DAY*** This company reached out to me to let me know they just started using Yelp's AI messaging service. My issue is with this service and not with the company necessarily, so I updated my review and increased my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. I appreciate that a real person found me and reached out by phone and text. I am waiting until our actual appointment in 2 days to speak to a real person before I add any further stars to this review. ***UPDATED AFTER ESTIMATE VISIT*** I ultimately did not go with these guys because of their pricing, but the fellow who came to my house was incredibly nice and had been sent with a message from the main office to apologize profusely and provide the best service possible. This company really cares about their customers and their reputation. If I were just a little bit richer, I would be able to choose my service provider based on kindness and not just price alone. But for now, my budget dictated that I go with someone else. From this last experience with them, I highly recommend! (But still hate that AI, Dave, that answers their Yelp messages) read more

After coming for a free inspection and estimate before doing any work, Rickly told me $325 to snake a kitchen drain. Very high, but not crazy. BUT, if the P-trap needed to be replaced (rusty or cracked or whatever) to replace the P trap, AS PART OF THE JOB OF CLEARING THE DRAIN would be ANOTHER $375. A young man came out and backed his truck straight into my mature hawthorn tree. When I asked him to move it, he dismissed the situation by saying he didn't see "my plant." That excuse doesn't hold water -- it's a full-grown tree, not a houseplant. The real issue here is a complete lack of care or respect for other people's property. When I pointed out the damage, he was utterly indifferent. But it didn't stop there. He then took it upon himself to complain to me -- as if I had done something wrong -- and asked me to call his boss. I will not be changing my review. How you arrive at a customer's home is as important to me as the service you provide. I now feel harassed, and this experience has left a bad taste I won't forget. Never again. EDIT: The company owner showed me the respect I was due, and I accepted his apology on behalf of the person doing the work. He promised to address the aggressive behavior, and I will let it go as a real-life lesson learned. 2nd EDIT: I hate to be "that one" that keeps yammering on, but new facts brought my review down to two stars. The plumber turned off the water to my garden. My gardener told him that was not where to do that, and to not forget to turn it on again. Well, he didn't. My new plants have been dry and died. Next up, he left the cover off the main water access in the curb, and someone's dog tripped in the hole. Furthermore, he did not tighten the new taps in the bathroom on the left sink; my husband had to do that himself. And lastly, the plumber sneaked through on the side of the curb part and knocked a big boulder of obsidian down, which landed under the car behind the wheel. These guys are incredible. We had root infiltration blocking an old and very long clay lateral. We couldn't use toilets, dishwashers and anything going into the lateral. Local Plumbing came out the day we called and spent hours trying to clear the lateral by rotoring the roots and trying forced water pressure to no avail. Phil worked hard and was later joined by his boss, Connor. They decided the only solution was to locate and do spot repairs, removing the damaged, clogged sections of the lateral and replacing those pieces with cast iron. Phil came back after his shift ended to try to map out where the lateral ran (through someone else's property). The next day, Phil and Andres returned at 7:30 and started digging where the root infiltration was. In the course of their work, they also located another section with severe root infiltration. They cut out huge roots, replaced the clay pipes with cast iron, installed a new clean out and left the site looking like no excavation had been done. It was a hard day's work performed with professionalism, humor and diligence. I was so impressed by Local Plumbers.
