A young man came out and backed his truck straight into my mature hawthorn tree. When I asked him to move it, he dismissed the situation by saying he didn't see "my plant." That excuse doesn't hold water -- it's a full-grown tree, not a houseplant. The real issue here is a complete lack of care or respect for other people's property. When I pointed out the damage, he was utterly indifferent. But it didn't stop there. He then took it upon himself to complain to me -- as if I had done something wrong -- and asked me to call his boss. I will not be changing my review. How you arrive at a customer's home is as important to me as the service you provide. I now feel harassed, and this experience has left a bad taste I won't forget. Never again. EDIT: The company owner showed me the respect I was due, and I accepted his apology on behalf of the person doing the work. He promised to address the aggressive behavior, and I will let it go as a real-life lesson learned. 2nd EDIT: I hate to be "that one" that keeps yammering on, but new facts brought my review down to two stars. The plumber turned off the water to my garden. My gardener told him that was not where to do that, and to not forget to turn it on again. Well, he didn't. My new plants have been dry and died. Next up, he left the cover off the main water access in the curb, and someone's dog tripped in the hole. Furthermore, he did not tighten the new taps in the bathroom on the left sink; my husband had to do that himself. And lastly, the plumber sneaked through on the side of the curb part and knocked a big boulder of obsidian down, which landed under the car behind the wheel. Back in June of 2024 our 15-year-old sewage ejector pump finally stopped pumping. I contact several local pumping contractors which listed septic pump service to obtain an installation proposal. To my surprise of the five that I contacted only Roto Rooter (RR) and Local Plumbing (LP) returned my phone call. Unfortunately, Stan the manager at RR was not interested in providing us with a timely and detailed proposal. That was not the case with LP. I called their office on Friday afternoon and their receptionist scheduled an appointment for the following Monday at 9:00 AM with Connor. To my surprise and relief, Connor showed up at 9:00 AM. He assessed the conditions and said he would have a proposal to us later in the afternoon. And sure enough, the proposal arrived that afternoon. I contacted Connor to discuss the proposal, he answered my inquires and we arranged a convenient day and time to install the new pump and parts. Quite the contrast from RR to LP. On Sunday June 30 I received a text that their technician would be arriving on Monday between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. And to my surprise Andres arrived at exactly 8:00 AM and began to the remove the worn-out pump and parts. By 11:00 AM the new pump, high-flow alarm and new parts were installed. Andres tested the alarm when the pump motor was turned off and the alarm worked perfectly, indicating the pump was turned off. What a relief!! It has been now five months with the new equipment and all that was installed is working as I had expected and guaranteed. These guys are incredible. We had root infiltration blocking an old and very long clay lateral. We couldn't use toilets, dishwashers and anything going into the lateral. Local Plumbing came out the day we called and spent hours trying to clear the lateral by rotoring the roots and trying forced water pressure to no avail. Phil worked hard and was later joined by his boss, Connor. They decided the only solution was to locate and do spot repairs, removing the damaged, clogged sections of the lateral and replacing those pieces with cast iron. Phil came back after his shift ended to try to map out where the lateral ran (through someone else's property). The next day, Phil and Andres returned at 7:30 and started digging where the root infiltration was. In the course of their work, they also located another section with severe root infiltration. They cut out huge roots, replaced the clay pipes with cast iron, installed a new clean out and left the site looking like no excavation had been done. It was a hard day's work performed with professionalism, humor and diligence. I was so impressed by Local Plumbers. I will never go back to one of the large, big name plumbing firms that we've used here over the last 25 years. read more

I just had my second great experience with Local Plumbing. In July they did a great install of a new tankless water heater. This time they helped diagnose a water leak that was causing a very high water bill. Conor came out on Friday afternoon and diagnosed the problem (two toilets), said they could come fix it on Monday and provided an estimate. I think it's great that they come out for free to look at issue/need and then provide an estimate. Today, Joe Sullivan came and fixed the toilets and checked the meter to make sure there were no other leaks. It was his first day at the company but he had lots of previous experience and seems to be just like all others I have worked with at Local Plumbing (Nicole, Conor, and Phil), knowledgeable, professional and friendly. They provide the best customer service, do great work, have reasonable pricing, use technology to improve the process, and most importantly are nice people. Local Plumbing are the best. read more

Called them and someone (Nicole?) picked up the phone on the first call and was able to schedule a plumber to come within 48 hours (would have been sooner but for my schedule). Andres came during the window I was told someone would come, clearly communicated what he could do and was able to solve my plumbing issue fairly easily with a snake. Clogged hair in our bathtub which prevented water from draining :-(. I didn't get any other quotes so can't speak to how their rates compared to others (they charged $375), but for me it was worth the cost for the hassle-free experience. read more

For starters, Phil arrived early! (Who does that?!?) Thanks! My concern had to do with roof rain water runoff and to ensure that the underground drainage system is behaving as it should. As he reviewed the project he affirmed that taking a "wait and see" approach would be the best under the circumstances. And, if it does need to be unclogged, instead of using a snake and running the risk of damaging the underground drainage pipes, he'd use high pressure water tools.
