In May, I hired Marin H2O to disconnect the water supply line to my aging refrigerator. The tech who came out to disconnect the line also crimped it closed on both ends, rendering it useless. As a result, when my new fridge was delivered a month later, it could not be connected to my water line, and I had to call Marin H2O to correct the same crimp that Marin H2O had itself created. If Marin H2O's tech had not crimped my line in the first place, I wouldn't have had to pay $343 for a second service. I was unhappy about the experience, and did not think it was fair, so I emailed Marin H2O to let them know. They never replied to my email, which is disappointing. read more

Certain employees at this company are dishonest/deceptive at worst or uneducated at best. I had a 6" storm drain pipe issue on my property - whenever it rained, water was coming up from under the street and flowing out of a drain cleanout near my driveway Turns out the drain line was no longer connected to the Town of San Anselmo's main storm drain under the street. The Marin H2O employee ( I believe his name is Ken) told me I, not the town, was responsible for reconnecting the line to the storm drain. He gave me a several thousand dollar quote to do the work. He assured me he was an expert and knew everything and everyone. Well, turns out Ken either doesn't know much about San Anselmo or he was trying to rip me off. The town is responsible for storm drain line connection under the street. How do I know? More on that later. Simultaneously, I was going to have Marin H2O replace my sewer lateral. Ken told me they could start work in 3-months because they were so busy. No problem. Three months came and went. I called Ken to ask him when the work would begin. He told me it would be another 3-months. Did he consider calling and letting me know this would stretch out to 6-months? Nope - he said he would reach out when the office put me on the schedule. He seemed taken aback by my frustration that no one was going to communicate the delay to me. He was even more surprised when I cancelled the entire job. And I'm sure glad I did. I got in touch with the Public Works Dept in San Anselmo. They confirmed the storm drain line fix was their responsibility because it was under the public street And they fixed it - at zero cost to me. And they did it as soon as we had some dry weather. He has built small family owned business where he started his career working alongside his father to a full service construction company that can handle anything from a water softener to building homes. He seems to go over and above to please his customers and employees. Today my water softener had some problems. I called Rick. He said we're very busy, let me see what the schedule looks like and I'll get back to you. He called back in 10 minutes. Had Kevin at my house in less than a hour. Very knowledgeable. Super fast to respond to a quote, offered to come out that day actually or the next and were upfront with pricing. I'm blanking on his name now, maybe Mike or Mark, but he was polite, knowledgeable and fast in fixing an issue we had with our GE SmartWater system. He noticed whoever installed before was using a stainless steel pipe and some sort of weird converter attachment and quickly changed, also offered some tips on maintaining and suggested where to find some new faucets that can be self-installed. Also, he checked our water heater as well, mentioned it was quite old but that it's worth letting it run until it;s out of life, since they're expensive to replace. There are a lot of great plumbers serving the north bay, but I'll be coming back to Marin H2O for sure. read more

I could not be happier with Marin H2O. They showed up when they said they would and really put the time in to repair my broken toilet. It had not been working satisfactorily for years. I had called previously another company who had first done half the job and then were unable to make the time to come back. This was not the case with H2O. They showed up and made this commode work better than it had for the last 23 years that I have rented this space. They then went to my parents house, repaired a fairly complicated sink issue and fixed another issue that wasn't even on their books that a previous plumber had not installed properly. The technician who did this work, Kevin, seems to be a perfectionist, and it shows in his high quality of work. I don't see myself ever hiring a different company than Marin H2O. Best plumbing experience ever! The tech was at a nearby job and within 20 minutes after my call the truck was outside. I herded my dogs into a room and the tech said it wasn't necessary - and the dogs really liked him! Points! The work was basic - the hot water faucet wouldn't turn off so I'd had to turn the water to the house off. He explained why there weren't shut off valves under the sink, explained that the faucet was old but worth saving. And he happened to have the slightly unusual faucet valves in his truck! After replacing both valve stems, while he was testing the water flow to make sure everything was working, I noticed him wiping the sink clean and leaving it better than he found it. Conscientious and Competent! I used to be a handyman and I know things can easily get chaotic with plumbing. Marin H2O has my respect, and no doubt if something else comes up they'll be the ones I call. I'm lucky the 3 other plumbing companies I called first were too busy. We received numerous quotes from a variety of plumbers to help my family replace a complicated sewer lateral project. Ken and his team at Marin H20 were the most responsive and thoughtful to work with than any of the other folks we were in contact with for the sewer replacement. All of the plumbers were respectful while at our property and were quick and efficient in replacing our sewer lateral. We also had Marin H20 replace our water service line since we already had an enormous ditch in the middle of our front yard open. Ken actually pointed out that we had some water leakage, so it was great to see him proactively help us to make sure we didn't have to dig up the front yard again. I had always had good results with Marin H2o but my latest project never came to fruition because after almost a month's time they could not get anyone to my home to assess my needs for an impending kitchen remodel. Had to reschedule everything else, setting my project back by about 3 weeks. Finally they scheduled a guy to come out but they had an emergency come up and he didn't show. NO phone message. NO email. NO text message. NO show. They are good at what they do and their crew are nice folks, and usually quite prompt. Jake solves problems. When dealing with other trades folks you sometimes end up being your own project manager and dealing with issues. Not so here. We had a few issues that arose, Jake indicated that in our next install if those issues were still there he'd have to charge extra for the time spend but didn't charge us for managing them on this first install. I left to go to work, got a message with the horrible packing materials that my product came in but came home to everything done and nicely installed. Problem solving. Our new (old) house needed a full sewer lateral replacement and we sourced multiple quotes as this is a big investment for us - $$$$$. We settled on Marin H20 and they were available within a few weeks, although never really confirmed their actual work dates as they kept getting pushed out. Ultimately, my issue with this company is that our final bill came back 20% more than quoted. I understand things may arise but this was a fairly simple project and we were never given notice of these extra costs (paving overage, labor overage, misquoted tool rental), which seems like common contractors etiquette. The company addressed my questions on the final bill but I felt deceived and felt like they quoted low to get the job... just wanted to share so others are aware. read more

All plumbers are NOT created equal. Had a plumber in to my Curves location for a toilet clog issue. The plumber admitted (after 4hours of trying) they could not get the clog unclogged and I should call someone else. I am a property manager...They came out to replace the backflow device and broke the pipe under the ground and didn't want to admit they broke...
