I have been going to Dr. Maude for several years now. He and his staff and warm and inviting. Kaitlin takes care of all my office, billing and other needs and returns emails and calls promptly. She knows his stuff and the insurance stuff as she has been there for years so the stability shows. I trust Dr. Maude to make the right decisions with my teeth. My husband goes here too and my son who is on another plan and wasn't happy with it switched back to this office as well and even though he has to pay more out of pocket he says he trusts them and got a bad vibe at another location down the road. Dr. Maude won't create unnecessary work to get more revenue in his practice. Rather, he will only recommend what needs to be done and refers you to another specialist (Dr. Sato who is also excellent) if he cannot perform the work himself such as a tricky root canal. For the most part though he does it all right there. He has 2 practices too. He's always smiling and cheerful. Another reason we go there. Give him a try and you won't be sorry. There are dentists on every street corner so they know how easy it could be for someone to switch. Keep up the great work Dr. Maude and team. read more

My family and I have been to several dentists since we've moved here in 2010, due to our insurance changing at times ( military ) we've had to change dentist. A friend of mine told me about Dr. Maude's and we have been loving it and by far the best dentist we've gone to! The staff are all so friendly and nice. Dr. Maude Ages Like Wine! As an Anti Dentite (Seinfeld), who has a very low opinion of dentists, I have to admit not that I have found my dentist for life but this dentist also gets better by the age to the point that it seems like he ages like wine! After being his patient for a number of years and establishing that he will be my dentist hopefully for life, I figured that my little Sun Goddess is not a kid anymore, but she is a pre-teen young lady; therefore, it is time for her to shift from pediatric dentist to an adult dentist. In addition, I am more comfortable for her to see Dr. Maude. If Dr. Maude had passed my obsessive-compulsive perfectionist test and taste and has my seal of approval, then he will be good enough for the Sun Goddess. I just had 2 fillings done by Dr. Maude at Rancho Penasquitos location. I wonder why I had to go to another dentist, whose location is far away, for 13 years whose workmanship is much more inferior to Dr Maude. Dr, Maude spent about 5 times more time to make sure the filling to shape a perfect bite; and polish them to sparkling smooth, and shine. Hands down. I give him another 5 stars. read more

I was bad... i moved to San Diego a couple of years ago and "forgot" about going to the dentist (yeah, I'm not alone in fearing those guys). I started having trouble with my sinuses and my eye, which an MD looked at and suggested it's actually a tooth "gone to the dark side"... so, I should see a dentist. My wife had done the research about dentists (yup, she's better about this than me) and gotten several references about Dr. Maude. She decided Dr. Maude was "it" and had a couple of great visits (fast and comfortable)... she suggested I go there. OK then... I called Dr. Maude's office and was in on the SAME day (they fit me in over their lunch break !!!). It took 3 visits to get the root canal, crown, and cleaning... but I'm as good as new. No fuss, no muss... VERY different than what I was "afraid of". The killer about all this was I offered to pay up-front and wait for insurance reimbursement because I hadn't (obviously) used my dental benefit and didn't know which company had the insurance. They really (nicely) insisted that it was their job to chase down insurance companies and would only take a promise that I wouldn't "disappear" on them. I don't really (still) like dentists much. But if I WAS going to start, it would be because of Michael Maude. I can't recommend Dr. Maude more highly. A fantastic experience. read more

After around 20-30 cavities, I have a lot of experience dealing with dentists. Dr. Maude is easily the best out of the three I've had over the years, and he has filled at least eleven of my teeth. In the past cavities have always felt quite rough and often painful after a trip to the dentist, but this is nowhere near the case with Dr. Maude. He uses the right amount of anesthetic (which was a problem with my last few dentists) and he is quite fast with his operations. I'd rather something be done right than quickly, but with Dr. Maude these are one and the same. This is a very impressive dentist. read more

Best family Dentist in San Diego! Dr Maude and his staff are always professional and calming. Lets be honest...nobody wakes up in the morning singing yippee yippie I have a dentist appointment today. But since we made the switch to Dr Maude, I look forward to the teeth cleanings and preventative appointments. They are quick and efficient. When we do have dental work that needs to be addressed, Dr Maude does high quality work. In the past my kids had a couple horrible dentists and they would always fight me on making appointments. Now they don't resist at all. If your current dentist isn't 5 out of 5 stars in your opinion...you should give Dr Maude a try. I highly recommend him and his staff! read more

I just had my first dental work done with Dr. Maude. All my life I have had trouble getting numb for dental work and have often needed to get many injections during work to stop the pain. I told Dr Maude this before he started and he mixed up some amazing solution, gave it to me once in a few places to make sure it covered all the nerves, and I never suffered any pain during the procedure. This is the first time that this has ever happened. His assistant, Andrea, was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what to do when and how to help assist. She made and put on the temporary crown for me and did a wonderful job of fitting it. Next, I has Vanessa clean my teeth. Usually, my gums are screaming after a cleaning. She was so gentle, but thorough. She took her time to make sure all the stains from my past smoking habit were removed. Then she also noticed I had dry mouth and recommended a special rinse I could use and gave me some free samples. I could not recommend Dr Maude and his staff more highly. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Maude. My 11 year old son had a tooth abscess and our regular dentist was closed. Dr. Maude got us in right away. My son was crying because he hates needles and dental work in general. He was saying he didn't want to have it pulled and could we come back another day. Dr. Maude did a great job of putting him at ease and was very patient with him. When it came time to numb him, Dr. Maude made sure my son couldn't see the needle so he wouldn't freak out. A few weeks later my son needed a filling and asked if Dr. Maude could do it because he was so gentle. He again was upset and nervous when we first got there. He asked to see the drill and Dr. Maude showed it to him without the bit, again so he wouldn't freak out. He answered every single one of my sons questions in an appropriate manner for his age, giving him info, but not too much. My son asked if we could switch to Dr. Maude after these two experiences, and we are. My brother in law, who is also not a fan of dental work, recently had some work done by Dr. Maude and was equally impressed with his demeanor, patience and professionalism. He is an excellent dentist who I cannot recommend enough. read more
