Highly recommend. Dr Oswald did a fantastic job on my root canal. Dare I say, the appointment was relaxing, fun (and completely painless).

I have been their patient for years and I will say they are worthy of trust - they will explain different treatment plan options in as much detail as you want, and they never push unnecessary treatment as some others practices tend to do. I highly recommend Smiles of Eastlake.

The staff in the back office are also consistently friendly and professional. I truly appreciate the care provided during the actual appointment. Unfortunately, the front reception experience continues to be the biggest headache. I often feel that the receptionists are disorganized and, at times, just plain rude. At my most recent visit, I waited about 15-20 minutes after my appointment was finished just to receive an estimate. When I finally approached the front desk to ask about it, I was abruptly told to "take a seat, they'll call you when they're ready," with no courtesy or acknowledgment of the wait. I work in healthcare myself, and I know how important patient experience is from start to finish. A little communication and kindness go a long way. It's disappointing because the clinical staff do a great job, but the front desk interactions make me question whether I want to continue giving my business to an office where patients are treated this way

I have been a loyal patient/client to this dentistry for many years. A few years ago, there was a…read morechange in ownership. The past 2 years, I have noticed the service change. Things were okay at first, but over time when I went in for routine preventative cleanings, the dentist and his team attempt to sell me questionable services. I simply say no, but it's uncomfortable. But, I let it go because I understand we all need to make ends meet. Before I explain the main issue prompting 1-star Yelp review,, here's the TLDR: If you are charged a deductible, make sure you are required to pay it! I was charged an unnecessary deductible. I was surprised and though I tried to explain to the billing receptionist that my insurance had no deductibles for routine cleanings, the billing receptionist assured me I was required to pay a deductible. So, I paid it. After a short phone call with my insurance, I learned the dentist office was wrong. I then had to drive back to the dentist office to speak with the billing receptionist and dentist. They gave me a refund, but how did they get this wrong? Why did I have to call and verify? Not the first time either. Be careful....you may be paying unnecessary deductibles. If you are charged a deductible, verify with your insurance company if you are required to pay one for the rendered services. Here's what happened- After my routine preventative cleaning on January 7, 2026, the dentist office attempted to "erroneously" charge me a $25 deductible that I was certain I did not need to pay. I explained to the the billing receptionist that historically through my insurance there was never a deductible required for routine teeth cleanings, but she showed me some paperwork (that didn't make sense to me) and shared that my "insurance plan had changed in 2026" and because it was the "first" cleaning of 2026, I would need to pay a $25 deductible. This seemed wrong and suspicious, but I just paid it. I informed her I'd be contacting my insurance to verify if this was correct. Immediately after I left the dentist office, I contacted my insurance and they confirmed that under my plan, I should have NOT been charged a deductible for preventative teeth cleaning. I returned to the dentist office and shared this with the billing receptionist/team and dentist. They then verified with my insurance plan and confirmed I was NOT supposed to pay a deductible and immediately refunded the $25 deductible. They explained it was a mistake. But, this is also not the first time this has happened at this dentist office. THIS IS CONCERNING and raises billing suspicions. If I had not have verified by calling my insurance, I would have "given away" an unnecessary $25 deductible. $25 may not seem like a lot, but I can't help but wonder if other loyal patients/clients have unknowingly paid mistakenly charged deductibles. For scale, imagine $25 paid 10 times per day, 5 days per week...that's $5,000/month.

The entire staff is so friendly and helpful, and they made sure I felt completely at ease. I was in a lot of pain from an infection and needed to see someone right away. My husband encouraged me to call, and they were able to squeeze me in even though they were completely booked. Dr. Shah and his team assured me that everything would be okay, and they were spot on. I was so embarrassed about my teeth after years of neglect, but now I'm committed to better dental care and looking forward to my next visit to the dentist.
