Before I even walk in the door I feel my nervous system building anxiety because of the creepily perky receptionist. She has to be on drugs. There is no way anyone is that peppy. It's a dentist. Not disneyland. Calm down. All the dental techs have been lovely, however, last time, when I was told I was due for an xray and that they needed my approval, I asked what adding an xray would cost (total) before making my decision. I was quoted $150, so I agreed, but when I paid, my balance came to $250. The dentist's exam lasted about 15 seconds and cost bout $75. I think that was my last visit. pros: clean office read more

From the minute you walk in the door you are met with compassion and understanding. I've been a patient of Dr Eurs for 15 years, way back when he had his office in Scott's Valley. There is no one better. Because of a traumatic head injury, my mouth is no fun to work on. He takes the extra time to make sure I am always comfortable. He did wonderful bridge work to replace a missing front tooth, and no one can even tell, unless I tell them. They took payments on expensive treatments that weren't covered by insurance Everyone in the office is kind and caring, from the receptionist, to the Hygienist. I started going to Dr. Eurs office almost two years ago. My first experience there was pleasant - the front office staff, reception area and dental exam rooms. I have moved around a lot the past 10 years and always dread finding new dentists. Why? The cleaning experience. The dental hygienists in the office are not very gentle with my sensitive gums. Each of the times (I think I had my teeth cleaned there at least three times) I left there experiencing soreness in my gums from the painful cleaning experience for at least 1-2 days. The last time the hygienist explained that I needed to be more diligent with my flossing - which subsequently I did get better about but I also know that there other dentists/hygienists that clean my teeth without the pain and bleeding. The other reason I don't give this office more stars is because of their availability. They have extremely limited availability - I believe they are only open 3 days/week. I found another dentist that has more availability and leaves me with my gums in less pain. read more

My experience at this dental office is in stark contrast to the other glowing comments posted. Sometimes I guess things can go horribly wrong. My first visit to this office was earlier last year. It was a routine checkup. My teeth were cleaned and the hygienist did an excellent job. It took a bit long but she was thorough. It was discovered that I needed a new crown. I was impressed by the office, which seemed more like a spa with candles burning and nice decor. On a subsequent visit, my tooth was drilled down and mold taken and I was fitted with a temporary cap. This is when things started going awry. The dental hygienist was new and didn't have enough training, and I kept choking on the saliva building up in the back of my mouth because she wasn't removing it fast enough. The intake wasn't anywhere near the back of my throat, and my bodily reflexes were disturbing the doctor 's drilling. He seemed annoyed by both me and the hygienist. He kept drilling for what seemed like a long time. I lurched when he hit a nerve, and he seemed incredulous that I could still be feeling any pain after the shot. He kept drilling and eventually hit the nerve again, and then he reluctantly gave me another shot of novocain. I was bothered by his attitude, which seem to imply that I couldn't possibly feel any pain after the first shot. After the second shot, the tender spot was indeed numb. The drilling continued for what seemed like forever. When it was finally over, I had to go to the bathroom. When I came out of the bathroom, one of the staff asked me if I had been crying. What? I couldn't believe my ears. Perhaps she was referring to the drilling episode where I needed another shot? I felt quite insulted. I certainly wasn't teary eyed or anything of that nature. It was a very insensitive remark. At the completion of this visit while I was leaving, I wished the new dental hygienist good luck on her new job, only to hear gasps of astonishment from another member of the office staff. I darted back in and explained that my comment was genuine. I didn't understand why my comment was misconstrued as malicious, and felt insulted again. It was such a strange experience, that it made me start to wonder just what sort of toxic atmosphere lied beneath the spa-like surface of this dental office. When I returned on another visit to have my crown installed, the office discovered that the lab had shipped the wrong crown. They told me these things happen, which of course they do, and it might take a week before they could track down where my crown was. A week passes, my crown.... the correct crown this time because they opened the container and made sure it was mine (something that was not done the first time).. had arrived. When the Dr. began fitting my new crown, he discovered that it was flawed and was no good. A new mold would have to be taken because of course, in the transpiring 3 weeks or so, things shift, gums change, whatever... we were going to have to start this whole thing all over again. I couldn't believe it. Throughout the whole ordeal and visits to the office, I never got an apology. I was just told "these things happen sometimes." Perhaps, but you might consider doing work with a different lab if they do? At any rate, after a few weeks again, I was fitted with the new crown and everything went well. I have to say, the crown feels quite solid and technically, Dr. Eurs did a good job with it. If only the staff hadn't insulted me twice and all the problems with the lab hadn't occurred. Well... after only several days passed, an adjacent and opposite tooth to my new crown broke in half. I couldn't believe I was going to have to go back to the office of Dr. Eurs again, but I didn't have much choice because I was in a lot of pain, especially if I tried to eat or drink anything. When he examined my tooth, he told me I would need a new crown and the break had nothing to do with my other new crown. I was told I would have to wait 3 weeks before he would be able to work on it. 3 weeks! Are you kidding me? I immediately found another dentist who was able to see me the same day and fix my broken tooth. Oh.... and he charged me $300 less than Dr. Eurs did for my new crown AND the office staff is marvelous. Enough said... read more

We are so happy to have found Dr. Eurs. We had horrible experiences with our previous dentist (see my other review), so his office was such a refreshing change. He spends a lot of time talking to you, and seems to genuinely enjoy what he does (I know what a concept). My whole family is seeing him now, and he is wonderful with my 8 year old daughter. Rude receptionist talked down to me like I was a child. Who wants to deal with that when going to a dentist?

I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother. She recently broke her lower denture and we went to Dr. Eurs to have it replaced and the upper one relined. My mother is in her 80's and has had several unfortunate and painful experiences with dentists in the past, so she was not eager to see him. He was great! He was patient, thorough, and explained the process to her in an unpatronizing way. She really liked him! And her new dentures not only fit great, they are far superior to the old ones. I recently saw Dr. Eurs for a routine check-up and hygienist visit. I was very pleased. It is a beautiful office, very clean and pleasant smelling. The staff is very welcoming. As others have said, Dr Eurs is very honest, and I believe he has his patients' best interest in mind. He did a thorough examination. He does not recommend unnecessary procedures. His hygienist Jill did a very nice job on me and made my teeth look like they had been naturally whitened. She really removed the coffee stains. Wow! read more

I appreciate Dr. Eurs and his staff. I switched to Dr. Eurs because my previous dentist only seemed interested in having me spend the big bucks on my mouth. I had asked about improving my smile. His answer - $20K. Wrong answer. After going to Dr. Eurs for a few years I again asked about improving the way my smile looked. His answer did not include grinding all my teeth down and putting on crowns or veneers. He suggested re-doing the ill-matching fillings in my front teeth and replacing one crown in the front. We will finish the work this month and already my teeth look so much better. The price tag? Right around $2K. I don't know why the other dentist didn't suggest this, or maybe I do. I appreciate that Dr. Eurs has not only the welfare of my teeth at heart, but also the welfare of my pocketbook. I am smiling as I write this and my teeth look great. I am a satisfied customer. I've referred a number of people to him and will continue to do so. read more

I heard about Dr. Eurs' practice from a friend, wanted to try a new dentist, and am very happy that I came to his office. Dr. Eurs is extremely competent, explains things very clearly, and is an easygoing and likable person (which makes the experience very comfortable). He also has a top-notch staff. I had a complete teeth reconstruction completed over a 4 month period with Dr. Eurs and his staff and have to say he is the real deal.....This work was to correct a poor quality teeth reconstruction I had 5 years ago that resulted in broken teeth, an over bite and numerous unnecessary trips to the previous dentist. Dr, Eurs explained everything in detail and showed me models on why my bite had been a problem and gave me a custom mouth guard to correct an overbite during the experience. Its been about 4-5 months since completion and I can eat anything without worrying about my teeth breaking and my smile has allowed me to laugh more and not be ashamed of how my teeth had appeared.....high praises.....JS read more

After having a tooth crown crack off after an unsuccessful cementing the front desk actually suggested "I had bad tooth Karma", the most insensitive thing a dentist front desk had said in my entire life. I came back to try a 2nd cementing and asked on the way out why the cement that worked was not used initially and was met again by very rude front desk that was offended by my question so much that they had Dr Eurs send me a letter kicking me out of his office. Dr. Eurs accused me of calling into complain after the 2nd cementing ( which was very odd ) because I spoke to no one after the 2nd cementing worked,..all I wanted was answers for my tooth and when it was successfully cemented I was on my way, then got a letter falsely accusing me to calling an complaining. Weird office, that has bad Karma towards patients that ask to many questions. Horrible office, will tell everyone I know never to go there. read more

Dr. Michael Eurs' dentist practice is the best around! The staff genuinely cares about their patients; there are several hygienists, all great, with different personalities to match different clients; the office is quiet, calm, professional, and beautiful. Dr. Eurs is an artist in this field.....I know because I've been to many dentists over the years; several of those dental experiences would be worthy of a sitcom if they hadn't been so painful. A friend recommended Dr. Eurs; I went to my first appointment with a fair amount of skepticism simply because of my past experiences, and was actually pleasantly surprised by his interest, presence and accessibility. He takes pride in his work, as well he should; he's skilled and extremely knowledgeable. I appreciate that he takes time to explain to me everything he's doing. Also, he's moderate, even conservative, in his approach. One of the dentists I went to a few years back was insistent on pulling all the amalgam fillings from my mouth because of his personal belief in mercury poisoning. In contrast, Dr. Eurs consults with you---you're clearly a major part of the equation---rather than just viewing you as a specimen to work on. Now all my family goes to him, three generations, including our 7 year old who loves and trusts him. read more
