As a cash paying customer, they always quoted me one price on a service and then when I had the service a week or two later, they had jacked up the price. I was dumb not to get it in writing because I expected them to be honorable with their word. I would just write the "quoted" price on a sheet of paper at the time of the visit, but that holds no water with them. Perhaps now they give victims, I mean clients, a quote in writing but they did not do so when I was a patient. 2. When I had crowns done by this dentist, he put them on crooked and they "failed" (the final crown). The temporary crowns fell off while waiting for the final crowns. He is impatient and stand-offish while he works. 3. When I had my teeth cleaned, the hygenist said "oh the doctor will look at you now." Who asked for him? Not me! But he glanced for less than 5 seconds (no exaggeration!) and the frumpy brown-haired woman in the front office then charged me for a full dentist examination. I had enough of their ways and just moved on to another dentist. When I established with a new dentist, he claimed that Shively had done "horrible work" . I didn't need him to make any comment about Shively because I had the sense to dump him myself. If you have insurance, you will probably get through okay but if you are cash pay, expect to be fleeced.

I had a jawbone graft and two gum grafts over the years, as well as many maintenance cleanings. I'd had some bad experiences with dentists up to that point, and unfortunately avoided the referrals I'd gotten from my dentist(s) before setting up a consultation. The ladies in the front, one does the scheduling and the other does the billing / insurance dealings. Their names escape me at the moment, but both of them are great, and frequently went the extra mile. I can tell he chooses his assistants very carefully; they did most of my periodic cleanings, and I've never had a bad experience with any of them. Dr. Avera is very pleasant, calming and works gently and efficiently. In his free time, he likes to make cool photography/art that is hanging around the office, he's also a pretty great classical guitarist!

I have repeatedly called, emailed, and left…read more voicemails for Dr. Heidari at Creek View Dental in Aptos, CA, requesting my dental records. Despite these efforts, there was no response or assistance from the office. After multiple unanswered attempts to obtain my dental records from Dr. Heidari, it took my mother threatening to involve the dental board for them to respond, and even then, they only sent an invoice for TMJ treatment. My dental notes from Dr. Heidari are critical to moving forward on finding a new Dr. to help me, yet they were never provided. This lack of response makes me feel that I was abandoned as a patient. Dr. Heidari's failure to release my dental records has directly impacted my ability to demonstrate the importance of wearing my TMJ splint to dentists who have dismissed me. the dental records should include Dr. Heidari's notes and 3D imaging of my jaw. Its that simple. It seems as though dr. h just wants patients to spend more money here.

My experience with my current Prosthodontist has been completely opposite of what Creekview dental offered and what everyone should experience including the right technology and equipment and a kind and caring staff as well as a doctor whose primary focus is on the satisfaction of his patients.
