Dr Raffo and his professional staff have been providing dental care to my family for over 10 years. Im finally writing an overdue yelp review after my latest visit today. I could right a few paragraphs about how well we've been treated over the years through routine cleanings and X-rays to not so routine procedures. What inspired me to finally review this office was the exceptional care I received today during my first "COVID" cleaning. As a medical professional, I understand how crucial dental care is and know that waiting until this is all over would be harmful to my families health. I have always appreciated the modern office, state of the art equipment, highly skilled hygienist and the efficient, friendly and organized client service representatives. Today I was again impressed by the parking lot checkin, doors opened by the staff, hand sanitizers readily available, direct seating in the private cleaning area (elimination of waiting room), complete PPE properly worn by everyone, room air purifier, UV and disinfectant surface sterilization, sterile instruments, and elimination of aerosolizing ultrasonic scalers. Im sure there is a laundry list of precautions this team is taking that I haven't mentioned but the bottom line is that they are taking every precaution to make sure everyone is safe and healthier when they leave than when they arrived...as usual. So my dentist passed away a couple years ago and I hate the person that took over his business. I had a soft spot for my old dentist- he was the only guy I had ever been to ( I'm 29) and everyone in his practice was almost like family. So it's been two years since I had been to the dentist. I got a referral from my boss who said I should see this guy Michael Raffo. SO I went thinking I'd probably hate him too, but I have to say I walked out with a smile on my face! I would give ten stars if I could. Everything encompassing Dr Raffos practice is top notch. From the easy parking, to the beautiful waiting area, to the super comfortable treatment chairs... I've seen a handful of different gals for teeth cleanings and they've all been painless and quick with sweet personalities. Dr Raffo is always in a great mood, he's very thorough, gentle, but never pushy. I'm actually looking forward to getting dental work for once in my life! The office is always clean looking, but not uncomfortably sterile either, very welcoming. Lastly, the front desk is my favorite. Diana and the gal who does insurance are so helpful, it's almost too good to be true. A stable front desk staff is probably one of my favorite qualities in a business, I always know who's going to answer when I call, very comforting. I found Dr. Raffo after moving to the area. I have had a history of cavities and have spent a lot of time in the dentist's chair. Dr. Raffo is by far the BEST dentist I have been to. He put me at ease immediately, and the office was clean and bright. They don't have any TV's or added amenities like the last place I was going to (a DentSpa) but I appreciate that they have adopted the digital age. Appointment reminders are sent promptly by e-mail, which means no phone-tag just to confirm an appointment. And don't let their lack of distractions fool you, Dr. Raffo and all the hygenists are so nice and didn't make me feel like crap for neglecting to visit a dentist for years. I recently had two fillings done and I always dread the pinch of the needle that delivers the anesthesia. I shouldn't have been worried at all because Dr. Raffo was so gentle I didn't felt a thing! I was in and out in 30 minutes and I was honestly surprised that it was actually an almost enjoyable experience! (I don't think going to the dentist can ever be truly enjoyable, that's not Dr. Raffo's fault though). Dr. Raffo and most of his office are great. He is sincere, kind and pays close attention to the often jumpy patient (me). I'm not a frequent reviewer but after he met me in less than an hour for a dental emergency on his day off I had to break the silence. You can't go wrong with Dr. Raffo as a dentist. I've never had a dentist that has nearly taken away the panic when of hearing "You have a small cavity here". Best of all he knew when to send me to a specialist; that alone is the sign of an exceptional provider in my book. Dr. Raffo is such a lifesaver! I went in with excruciating pain and needed a root canal ASAP. The front staff was empathetic kind and efficient. I got same day exam, x-rays and a referral. Recently having moved to the area and in need of a new dentist I lucked out finding Dr. Raffo. My entire family goes to him including our three year old, who has been going now for two years- she loves it and looks forward to the routine cleanings! I am a mom tracking down a dentist for my son, a freshman in another part of the state. My son's wonderful dentist is not one of the providers on my son's new school dental plan, so he needs to find one on the plan. This practice is a provider for my son's school dental plan. Since I do not want to sacrifice quality to save much needed dollars in our budget, I came to yelp to read reviews. My first step in switching dentists is being handled by Melanie, the face of Dr. Raffo's practice. She is amazingly efficient, knowledgeable and informative. I can't imagine student dental plans are lucrative for the practice, but Malanie is treating us like royalty. His first appointment isn't until March, so I don't have anything to write about the dental experience yet, but if Melanie is any indication of the quality of service provided, my son will receive professional and capable care. read more

Dr. Raffo's dental office is very clean with a beautiful waiting area, doesn't smell at all with a very welcoming front desk staff. They have the latest technology and a very comfortable dental chair. As soon as you enter his dental clinic,Diana will welcome you with her beautiful smile as well as his dental assistant. All of them are super nice and helpful!!!! If you have insurance problem or question, Diana will call your insurance company and call you back to explain everything to you. Long story short: Be specific when leaving your phone number and verify the services. I scheduled a cleaning, but in their book that means x-ray and exam, plus another appointment for cleaning. Dr. Raffo is the one of the best Dentist's I've ever had. I've seen an awful lot of him, but he is awesome and has a great sense of humor. I'm thankful to have found him when I needed a second opinion from another dentist whom I've also reviewed after being quoted major bucks for work that it turns out I didn't really need! You need to be on top of your own care with any practice and it pays to ask questions before you get charged. Such as for fillings, his office staff automatically schedules you for the most expensive fillings unless you request otherwise. Some fillings will never be seen and therefore don't require the white colored fillings which are the most expensive. Always ask questions before you have the work done. read more

Cannot say how happy I am with Dr. Raffo and his service. I haven't been able to afford dental insurance for years so when I came into his office I was horrified how much work I will have to get done and how much it will cost. I have a decent dental insurance and they've covered enough of expenses but I still had to pay out of pocket. I had a filling that came out months ago and other fillings that needed to be changed. All of this work didn't feel like anything new to me because I was experiencing discomfort and pain where my filling fell out. I also had a problem with my gums being overly sensitive. I've gone to Dr. Raffo multiple times, had the filling replaced, new filling placed in, extensive teeth cleaning. It was quite painful and took time but I knew what I was getting myself into after years of no dental care. Right now my teeth and gums are doing so much better and I am happier with how my mouth feels haha. Oral care is important to one's overall health as well and I am glad Dr. Raffo took care of it well. I've set up multiple appointments, they have always been able to assist me promptly with scheduling and rescheduling appointments. Everyone at the office is very pleasant and the office is wonderful, modern look and they really appear to have latest technology with all dental equipment and computers. I will definitely be coming back for future dental work here. Dr. Raffo explained my dental care plan easily and worked with me along all of the steps. He's funny, makes you comfortable even though dental work can be quite mortifying. Also he is quite handsome, that doesn't hurt haha. I give Dr. Raffo an overwhelming 5 stars, BUT I give his office staff a definite 1 star. First of all, you almost never get anyone who answers the phone when you call, it always goes to voicemail, then maybe you get called back the next day (when you're not available.) But mostly, it's the receptionist Melanie who is the problem. I called to make an appt., and I was given the most unhelpful, and totally incorrect information possible. In a service business, you should try to be kind, understanding, and helpful to your clients, it is more like she argues with you and adamantly tells you stuff that is not at all like the way it happens when you're there. Since Dr. Raffo is so excellent, I would think he would want his reception staff to also reflect the same professionalism. Too bad... read more
