Dr. Raffo and the entire staff have been taking excellent care of me for the past few years. I have consistently received high-quality treatment with no issues, and scheduling has always been smooth and efficient. The office is well-organized, and the treatment rooms are exceptionally clean and equipped with state-of-the-art technology. I highly recommend this practice for anyone seeking reliable and professional dental care. Lami read more

My husband and I love Dr. Raffo and his team. We both agree he is the best dentist either of us have ever had. His office has very relaxed aura while maintaining the highest level of professionalism. The front desk staff are courteous and attentive. They are always happy to answer my questions thoroughly and patiently, and scheduling with them is always a breeze. Dr. Raffo and his team of hygienists are kind, personable, and gentle. After having had an unsavory experience with our last dentist office, we are over the moon to be patients of Dr. Raffo now. Thank you!! read more

Took a while to get in but once I did I have actually enjoyed going to the dentist for the first time in my life. Everyone is incredibly nice and comforting. Dr Raffo offices are clean and accommodating. My teeth always feel better after a nice thorough cleaning. Would highly recommend this place if your insurance is accepted. read more

Dr Raffo and his staff are wonderful! I just had a crown and a filling done and he was so gentle and kind throughout the whole process as I get older I feel a bit more pain in my mouth and he did a great job and it was almost painless. Thank you Kindly Dr Raffo for being a kind and great dentist in our community! read more

Cavities under crowns were overlooked. Root canals were the norm. Some new crowns had to be replaced and redone properly. A lot of money was wasted. read more

Dr Raffo and his professional staff have been providing dental care to my family for over 10 years. Im finally writing an overdue yelp review after my latest visit today. I could right a few paragraphs about how well we've been treated over the years through routine cleanings and X-rays to not so routine procedures. What inspired me to finally review this office was the exceptional care I received today during my first "COVID" cleaning. As a medical professional, I understand how crucial dental care is and know that waiting until this is all over would be harmful to my families health. I have always appreciated the modern office, state of the art equipment, highly skilled hygienist and the efficient, friendly and organized client service representatives. Today I was again impressed by the parking lot checkin, doors opened by the staff, hand sanitizers readily available, direct seating in the private cleaning area (elimination of waiting room), complete PPE properly worn by everyone, room air purifier, UV and disinfectant surface sterilization, sterile instruments, and elimination of aerosolizing ultrasonic scalers. Im sure there is a laundry list of precautions this team is taking that I haven't mentioned but the bottom line is that they are taking every precaution to make sure everyone is safe and healthier when they leave than when they arrived...as usual. Thanks for many years of great care! The Mays read more

Dr. Raffo and his wonderful staff are back open for business. I am thankful they were able to fit me in for my regular cleaning. Felt safe and comfortable the entire time. They are taking the appropriate measures to ensure everybody's safety in these strange times. Don't defer any dental work or regular cleaning any longer! Thanks Dr Raffo! read more

An amazing and thoughtful and detailed dental practice. I have especially enjoyed all the teeth cleaning over the years. And now I've had a couple of crowns. They fit perfectly they do the perfect job. A practice full of expert technicians. Incredibly friendly staff from door to door. Thank you so very much for being an outstanding dental practice in our community. read more

I chose this dentist because 1.) he takes my insurance and 2.) he had great yelp reviews. I am so glad I did!!! The staff is friendly, professional and prompt (to the minute!). The hygienist, Amy, was funny and gentle and I honestly enjoyed my cleaning. Dr. Raffo is really down-to-earth and has a great chair-side manner. Thank you Yelpers!! read more

Awesome! So glad we found this place. They got our son in same day due to a cancellation. I was so concerned about finding the right place for our son who is 8. He's very nervous about anything to do with his teeth. They were beyond patient with him and treated him so well. They helped to ease his anxiety with the X-Rays and found a solution that worked well for him. read more

So my dentist passed away a couple years ago and I hate the person that took over his business. I had a soft spot for my old dentist- he was the only guy I had ever been to ( I'm 29) and everyone in his practice was almost like family. So it's been two years since I had been to the dentist. I got a referral from my boss who said I should see this guy Michael Raffo. SO I went thinking I'd probably hate him too, but I have to say I walked out with a smile on my face! Professional and nice all at the same time. Filling out all my new insurance paper work was a breeze and the my hygienist (Kari I think?) was awesome! I would strongly suggest anyone looking for a new dentist give his office a try! read more

I would give ten stars if I could. Everything encompassing Dr Raffos practice is top notch. From the easy parking, to the beautiful waiting area, to the super comfortable treatment chairs... I've seen a handful of different gals for teeth cleanings and they've all been painless and quick with sweet personalities. Dr Raffo is always in a great mood, he's very thorough, gentle, but never pushy. I'm actually looking forward to getting dental work for once in my life! The office is always clean looking, but not uncomfortably sterile either, very welcoming. Lastly, the front desk is my favorite. Diana and the gal who does insurance are so helpful, it's almost too good to be true. A stable front desk staff is probably one of my favorite qualities in a business, I always know who's going to answer when I call, very comforting. Overall, my favorite part about Dr Raffos office is the positive vibes flowing around (aside from the great skills of course). It's like everyone takes happy pills before work, making what could be an anxious appointment into a relaxing one. I read more

I found Dr. Raffo after moving to the area. I have had a history of cavities and have spent a lot of time in the dentist's chair. Dr. Raffo is by far the BEST dentist I have been to. He put me at ease immediately, and the office was clean and bright. They don't have any TV's or added amenities like the last place I was going to (a DentSpa) but I appreciate that they have adopted the digital age. Appointment reminders are sent promptly by e-mail, which means no phone-tag just to confirm an appointment. And don't let their lack of distractions fool you, Dr. Raffo and all the hygenists are so nice and didn't make me feel like crap for neglecting to visit a dentist for years. I recently had two fillings done and I always dread the pinch of the needle that delivers the anesthesia. I shouldn't have been worried at all because Dr. Raffo was so gentle I didn't felt a thing! I was in and out in 30 minutes and I was honestly surprised that it was actually an almost enjoyable experience! (I don't think going to the dentist can ever be truly enjoyable, that's not Dr. Raffo's fault though). As someone completely new to the area and who hates going to the dentist, Dr. Raffo gets two big thumbs up! I will maybe... sorta.... kinda look forward to my next cleaning. read more

Dr. Raffo and most of his office are great. He is sincere, kind and pays close attention to the often jumpy patient (me). I'm not a frequent reviewer but after he met me in less than an hour for a dental emergency on his day off I had to break the silence. You can't go wrong with Dr. Raffo as a dentist. I've never had a dentist that has nearly taken away the panic when of hearing "You have a small cavity here". Best of all he knew when to send me to a specialist; that alone is the sign of an exceptional provider in my book. A slight revision in star rating for the office staff somewhat aggressive stance about receiving their payment immediately. We all understand, but some graciousness would be appreciated. read more

This review is long overdue. My family have been patients of Dr. Raffo's practice for about 6 years. He and his entire staff ROCK! They are professional, knowledgeable, patient, kind and just plain nice! They go above and beyond to make sure everything is right and the patient is satisfied. I enjoy going to the Dentist because I'm going to see a friend. Through the years Dr. Raffo has gotten to know our family and is genuinely interested in our lives. Dr. Raffo and his staff care about their patients and I highly recommend his practice! read more

Dr. Raffo is such a lifesaver! I went in with excruciating pain and needed a root canal ASAP. The front staff was empathetic kind and efficient. I got same day exam, x-rays and a referral. Recently having moved to the area and in need of a new dentist I lucked out finding Dr. Raffo. My entire family goes to him including our three year old, who has been going now for two years- she loves it and looks forward to the routine cleanings! They don't advertise as a pediatric dentist, but I would highly recommend anyone-young or older who wants a fun clean office with the best care and staff who will remember your name- try Dr. Raffo and his wonderful staff. read more

The staff here is absolutely amazing! I was seeking a dental place that I would feel comfortable. Diana at the front desk was super knowledgeable and helpful with my situation. I told them what I would like done and they gave options that made the most sense for me. Honest feedback is good when someone like myself is clueless about teeth. Michael Raffo did all around amazing Job. Came in with missing tooth and walk out feeling good about my smile again. I would highly recommend this place even if you just have question. As long as I live here in Santa Cruz I will continue coming back here. read more

This review is way overdue. I have been a patient of Dr. Raffo's for some years now, I've been meaning to write for so long. I have had an intense fear of going to the dentist, and I still struggle but Dr. Raffo and his staff are wonderful, and together we make it happen. Dr. Raffo has a steady hand and I trust him. I know he will do his very best to get me through the appointment. He knows a have a very hard time with anesthesia and he works with me on that. Also a huge shout out to his assistant Alaina! She is warm and attentive. She makes me feel like I have a friend with me. The front desk is great. They are always friendly and sweet. Dr. Raffos is an excellent dentist with an awesome staff behind him. Thank you read more

I am a dental insurance administrator & I cannot say enough good things about this office. I have no problem referring people to Dr. Raffo because he is such a fantastic dentist. His entire staff is knowledgeable & awesome! I'm SO glad I found him years ago. You won't be disappointed. I especially like their no pressure approach to dental work. I am never surprised with a big bill I wasn't already talked to about before the procedure. I send everyone I know to him! read more

I have had nothing but good experiences with this office this year. I have only been a patient for about 6 months but they have taken care of everything that was needed. I had a random emergency of a very painful cracked tooth and they squeezed me in and got a referral to the endodontic specialist same day! Thank you to Elaina and Diana, and thanks for being so real Dr Raffo! It's the most pleasurable experience that a dental office can be! read more

Hey, I almost had FUN at the dentist today! Dr. Raffo is gentle, thorough, professional, and he has a sense of humor!

I am a mom tracking down a dentist for my son, a freshman in another part of the state. My son's wonderful dentist is not one of the providers on my son's new school dental plan, so he needs to find one on the plan. This practice is a provider for my son's school dental plan. Since I do not want to sacrifice quality to save much needed dollars in our budget, I came to yelp to read reviews. My first step in switching dentists is being handled by Melanie, the face of Dr. Raffo's practice. She is amazingly efficient, knowledgeable and informative. I can't imagine student dental plans are lucrative for the practice, but Malanie is treating us like royalty. His first appointment isn't until March, so I don't have anything to write about the dental experience yet, but if Melanie is any indication of the quality of service provided, my son will receive professional and capable care. read more

Dr. Raffo's dental office is very clean with a beautiful waiting area, doesn't smell at all with a very welcoming front desk staff. They have the latest technology and a very comfortable dental chair. As soon as you enter his dental clinic,Diana will welcome you with her beautiful smile as well as his dental assistant. All of them are super nice and helpful!!!! If you have insurance problem or question, Diana will call your insurance company and call you back to explain everything to you. I've seen all his dental hygienist for teeth cleaning and almost all of them are amazing(except for 1, but that doesn't stop me from giving them 5 stars). Dr. Raffo is very professional, gentle, thorough and nice. His quality of work is excellent!! read more

Dr. Raffo's office is welcoming, aesthetically pleasing and organized. I had a very short timeline to get all my dental work done and they worked with my limited schedule to fit it all in. As a new patient, I appreciate they took a full set of X-rays and allowed me to see on a live camera which teeth need dental work and why. Thank you Dr. Raffo and staff! read more

Dr. Raffo is the one of the best Dentist's I've ever had. I've seen an awful lot of him, but he is awesome and has a great sense of humor. I'm thankful to have found him when I needed a second opinion from another dentist whom I've also reviewed after being quoted major bucks for work that it turns out I didn't really need! You need to be on top of your own care with any practice and it pays to ask questions before you get charged. Such as for fillings, his office staff automatically schedules you for the most expensive fillings unless you request otherwise. Some fillings will never be seen and therefore don't require the white colored fillings which are the most expensive. Always ask questions before you have the work done. read more

I love this dental office! I have been a patient here for 4 years and highly recommend Dr. Raffo. He and all of his staff have been consistently professional, timely and friendly. They truly seem to care about what is best for the patient. You will not be disappointed! read more

Cannot say how happy I am with Dr. Raffo and his service. I haven't been able to afford dental insurance for years so when I came into his office I was horrified how much work I will have to get done and how much it will cost. I have a decent dental insurance and they've covered enough of expenses but I still had to pay out of pocket. I had a filling that came out months ago and other fillings that needed to be changed. All of this work didn't feel like anything new to me because I was experiencing discomfort and pain where my filling fell out. I also had a problem with my gums being overly sensitive. I've gone to Dr. Raffo multiple times, had the filling replaced, new filling placed in, extensive teeth cleaning. It was quite painful and took time but I knew what I was getting myself into after years of no dental care. Right now my teeth and gums are doing so much better and I am happier with how my mouth feels haha. Oral care is important to one's overall health as well and I am glad Dr. Raffo took care of it well. I've set up multiple appointments, they have always been able to assist me promptly with scheduling and rescheduling appointments. Everyone at the office is very pleasant and the office is wonderful, modern look and they really appear to have latest technology with all dental equipment and computers. I will definitely be coming back for future dental work here. Dr. Raffo explained my dental care plan easily and worked with me along all of the steps. He's funny, makes you comfortable even though dental work can be quite mortifying. Also he is quite handsome, that doesn't hurt haha. So happy to have found a great dentist who didn't take advantage of me and has made my teeth and gums so much better! read more

In search of a new dentist I came across Dr. Raffo's office. I scheduled an appointment weeks ago. It didn't go as planned. Long story short: Be specific when leaving your phone number and verify the services. I scheduled a cleaning, but in their book that means x-ray and exam, plus another appointment for cleaning. I will not be going back. read more

My wife and I have seen Dr. Raffo since he first opened his Capitola office, at least 10 years ago. Dr. Raffo is the best dentist we've ever known. Dr. Raffo's staff are wonderful, caring and very professional. I wish I could give Dr. Raffo 6 stars! read more

I give Dr. Raffo an overwhelming 5 stars, BUT I give his office staff a definite 1 star. First of all, you almost never get anyone who answers the phone when you call, it always goes to voicemail, then maybe you get called back the next day (when you're not available.) But mostly, it's the receptionist Melanie who is the problem. I called to make an appt., and I was given the most unhelpful, and totally incorrect information possible. In a service business, you should try to be kind, understanding, and helpful to your clients, it is more like she argues with you and adamantly tells you stuff that is not at all like the way it happens when you're there. Since Dr. Raffo is so excellent, I would think he would want his reception staff to also reflect the same professionalism. Too bad... read more

What a nice office! I was referred to them by a retired dentist neighbor of mine. When my long time dentist retired, I was not thrilled at the prospect of finding another one. I'm so glad that a friend referred me to Dr. Raffo. I've been in 3 times, and never had to wait more than a few minutes of my appointment time. My procedure was on the costly side, but the charges here were less than I had anticipated. What can be better than a clean office, top notch dental equipment, friendly staff, and excellent dentist, and fair charges. I also like that they email appointment reminders to you. read more

Dr. Raffo and his staff are absolutely incredible! I was first referred to Dr. Raffo by a close friend and his wife who had rave reviews about their entire experience. They were able to slot me in on the same day I called, as I had a minor dental mishap. During my first visit, I was immediately struck by the beautiful and technologically advanced office. The friendly staff got me seated almost instantly and started my dental work. Dr. Raffo (who is very personable and professional) then came in and completed the work! I was in and out in 30 minutes, completely satisfied with their care.
