Great winery with amazing service. Tamara was the cutest and so informative. It was packed but she was very good at delighting between customers. The landscape is absolutely stunning here. We didn't try the food but recommend the wines.

We really wanted to try the wine offerings in Lodi and this place was one of the recommendations from online and friends so we checked it out. We came here with no reservation, we weren't sure what time we can make it so we just winged it. We got here maybe around 4pm, it was busy, and looked like an event was happening. We were served our wine tasting by the bar. The guy that helped us out was great, very informative of the winery and its wines and also wine all over the bay area. The only thin, I felt so rush as he stands in front of us ready for the next pour. Maybe because they were closing so he was trying to push us out quicker. After the tasting he were told the grounds are still open so we walked around. Overall the wine was pretty good, I am not a fan of zin usually but the zin here was nice, I did get a couple bottles to share with friends.

The barbecue brisket sandwich was incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Every bite was delicious! The potato salad was seasoned so well that I ended up finishing the entire serving, which, almost never happens. Of course, the Michael David wines was outstanding, as always. Pair that with live music, a beautiful garden setting, and good friends, and it made for the perfect evening. The peaceful atmosphere was the cherry on top. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better way to spend the night.

Michael David Winery is a great place for multiple reasons. They have great wines and wine tasting is a reasonable $15 per person. They have a restaurant on premise that serves great farm to Fork meals. Everything is delicious but I highly recommend the chicken tortilla soup. One of the best I've ever had. The service is also excellent. In addition, on the outside patios on weekends they have a pizza oven and you can get fresh pizza. They also have food to go, and their pies are legendary Of course, they have a wine club which we have been members of for several years now and that's always a great deal if you like wines on a regular basis. Parking is phenomenal as they have a large area for parking. This is a great place to come for a party such as a birthday party or to meet friends and just hang out for the day.

We celebrated our anniversary at Michael David Winery with our Yelp friends, and it was an absolutely beautiful experience from start to finish. The winery grounds are stunning, with plenty of seating areas to relax, enjoy wine, and take in the scenery. It truly feels like an all-in-one destination--they have a winery, café, bistro, and even a shop where you can pick up snacks and local goods. Everything is thoughtfully designed so you can spend the entire day there without needing to leave. The bakery selection was a highlight. They had an impressive variety, from full-size pies to single slices, along with cookies and brownies. The apricot items stood out during our visit, and the chocolate chip cookies and brownies were especially delicious. The persimmon cookie was unique and unforgettable. For food, a barbecue food truck was catering the pickup party. The burger they served was fantastic, and the brisket was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It came with a really good potato salad and fresh watermelon that paired perfectly with the winery's reds. Our favorite wine of the day was the Earthquake red--bold, rich, and perfect with the heavier foods. There was also live music, perfect weather, and a very relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and everything was clean and well maintained. The gardens were in full bloom, offering beautiful photo spots--especially the sunflowers and fountains scattered throughout the property. Overall, it's the kind of place you can spend an entire day at--starting with a morning visit and easily staying through lunch and into the late afternoon. Whether you go as a couple, with friends, or a larger group, it's a perfect weekend destination for wine, food, and relaxation. Can't wait for the next pick up! :)

A very beautiful property with a bit of a 'touristy' edge. Friends had introduced us to Freakshow wines from here and we decided to give it a try and visit the winery. Although the grounds are very nice the entire experience was a let down. The tasting room is very utilitarian and not at all what I expected for a comfortable wine tasting experience. Although there are a multitude of pleasant outdoor spaces to linger and lounge while sipping wine it seems set up and better suited to small groups of 10 or more. There's a restaurant in the main tasting room that was packed crowded. The offerings must be good. The ambiance was similar to a Cracker Barrel. There's lots of merchandise for sale and I was surprised how basic the place felt, nothing special. When we asked at the tasting counter if we could get a glass of the Petite Petit, the wine we were introduced to by friends, the answer was a very gruff and emphatic, NO. The man seemed annoyed we asked. It would have been nice to be offered an alternative. That really turned me off although we ended up buying two bottles anyway. So, Freakshow. Rather strange and peculiar labeling and marketing, but it does catch one's attention. I had to wonder if the inspiration came from the TV series American Horror Story of the same name? The Petite Petit is a deep hearty rich blend of red wine with a lot of depth. It isn't very expensive but the taste is both bold and rich. It was nice walking around the outdoor areas and gardens but there didn't seem to be much energy out there, maybe a weekday and/or too early in the days? I had to wonder if they get folks coming off I-5 since the major highway is so close. Hence the more basic tourist approach. In any case it's an OK place but in short order I was ready to move on to another winery.

Michael David Winery had a really nice outdoor area to enjoy your wine, play with the kids, take a walk through the flower garden. The staff was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed checking this place out

    Lodi Burger w/ Potato Salad

We started with a wine flight and then stayed for lunch in the café. The tasting flight was very good, with the Misfits & Mavens red blend being my favorite of the group. Afterward, we walked the grounds, which were absolutely gorgeous. The only downside was how noticeable the nearby highway noise was at times. For lunch, I ordered the Lodi Burger with potato salad, while my wife went with the combo featuring the chicken tortilla soup and tri-tip sandwich. My burger was good overall, though the bun could have been a bit fresher. The potato salad was solid. That said, my wife definitely ordered the better meal. I sampled both her soup and sandwich and unsuccessfully tried to negotiate a trade. Overall, this was a solid stop with good wine, pleasant grounds, and enjoyable food. I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

Michael David winery is one of beautiful winery in Lodi. Parking: free plenty in its own complex Inside, it is decorated like a resort with waterfall, lush gardens Its most popular wine: freakshow is totally delicious. It also hosts private events for its member here and there. I was lucky to be invited to their members only event with hula dancers show and meals. I have been to Napa, Sonoma and Paso Robles. I am glad to come across this beautiful winery in Lodi.

Cute little winery that is family friendly things for the kids to do while the adults chat. Inside not as cute but better food options than the outside seating . A few downfalls you can't take the inside food outdoors they have a different menu. I tried a few different wines and was told I would not be charged and that was totally untrue. Service was okay

Another winery staff had recommended this place. Upon arriving, we realize it was huge. There is a table service lunch area which we had a great meal. A bakery area where we bought a beautiful and delicious apricot pie. Then we had a wine tasting paired with Girl Scout cookies. And purchased the 2022 Earthquake Cabernet. Finally we walked around the grounds and found an open air bistro in the back serving pizzas and sandwiches next to some water structures.

We had an amazing wine tasting experience at Michael David Winery, and a huge part of that was thanks to Kylee! She took exceptional care of our group from start to finish, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout the entire tasting. Kylee was incredibly knowledgeable and did a fantastic job explaining each wine, sharing details about the flavors, winemaking process, and what made each selection unique. Her enthusiasm and passion for the wines really enhanced the experience and made it both fun and educational. The outstanding customer service she provided is the reason we'll definitely be coming back. If you have the chance to do a tasting with Kylee, you're in for a great experience. Thank you, Kylee, for making our visit so memorable!

Last weekend on a trip to Sacramento, I finally had a chance to stop by their Olive Mill and Winery. In addition to the olive oil tasting set, there were some brunch items such as a crostini and salad as well as a Mediterranean plate with hummus. We opted for the crostini, olive oil tasting and a cappuccino. The jalapeño olive oil was unique and flavorful enough that we bought a couple bottles of it to take home. However, they made up this year for the event and had some great vendors and place them in the shaded areas which was very smart by the way. I had the crazy notion to sign up for the 5K run/walk. I liked the complete process of registration and how the stations were set up. It was a vast improvement from last year. This winery is placed literally right off of Highway 12 in Lodi. If you blink, you will miss the term to enter the event. I have not been able to attend the winery outside of the wicked wine, run event, however, I would like to because it's a very open and spacious area. I am so glad that I participated and completed the 5K and the reward was a metal along with a chilled glass of wine, which is another souvenir. Last the ending highlight for me besides finishing this walk, was being able to train myself to 3 Delicious St. tacos in the sea lemonade. I don't know if I'm gonna do this next year honestly I think I'd have to start training now but once again I'm so glad I did it. I'm really proud of myself.

My best friend and I love to get together once or twice a month and go wine tasting from Napa to…read moreLodi. Most recently we were on our way to one of our favorites when we saw a sign for Viaggio. We decided to pull over and try it out, and boy am I glad we did as we have just found a new favorite. Viaggio has one of the most beautiful grounds I have seen in the area. From the moment you arrive they have a walkway that gives a feeling of New Orleans bourbon street. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside. They serve charcuterie, snacks, wood grilled pizza and even saw sushi on our trip. The staff were super friendly and let us try their sparkling before committing to a bottle. The sparkling was crisp with flavor notes of apple and lemon. We wound up ordering a bottle and enjoying it on the patio while we listened to their live music. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and we even saw a wedding party celebrating and taking photos. Highly recommend you add this one to your list when doing a Lodi trip.

We were the only people there at 11:00 when they opened. A bus load of students arrived after we ordered, and it seems we were just dismissed after that. We had booked our wedding for next summer, but had to cancel due to our losing faith in the management. We did not expect a full refund, but because it was over a year away, we felt it would show good business to at least refund half of our deposit. To this day we haven't received so much as a phone call from owners, or management.

Went to the café at Michael David Winery for lunch on our way back from SMF…read more The cafe is a small eaterie within the gift shop area. When they say their Chicken Tortilla Soup is Legendary...they mean it. That soup was so good! My boss & I split the pesto turkey sandwich and the chicken caprese sandwich. Both wete delicious but I think i preferred the caprese. My fringe had the steak salad that came out looking AMAZING. We all got different flavored mimosas to accompany our meals. For dessert I had to try the Apricot Pie before I committed to purchasing a whole one to take home for my family. Let me tell you apricot pie is delicious! After lunch we enjoyed a glass on the patio area. I got the watermelon patch special and it was such a summer beauty and so good! We will definitely be back again!

I was informed that it was Taco Tuesday, so I was excited to take advantage of the offering. For lunch, I decided to order the following: - 3 QuesaBirria Tacos, served with beans and rice ($16) - Bowl of Chicken Tortilla Soup ($10.50) - Mango Chile Lime Mimosa ($10) The chefs who prepared and executed the Chicken Tortilla Soup and the QuesaBirria tacos, please give them a raise. The food was so undeniably palatable, my taste buds were going through the roof. Every bite was pleasantly satisfying. The mimosa also complemented the entire meal well. The entire atmosphere had such a cozy, rustic feel. The service was slightly underwhelming. Though it was kind, the attentiveness missed the mark. The price point of the food was fairly reasonable. Overall, the dining experience was lovely because the food was dynamite. The service needs some improvement; however, I'd absolutely return.
