Popped by Spenker today as I have always seen it but never stopped in. We had a really great experience. We tried both cheese and wine tastings (2 whites, 2 reds, and either 4 soft goat cheeses or 4 hard cheeses) and it was great! The cheese paired so nicely with the wines and sitting outside really made the whole experience so peaceful. The wines were really tasty (light and not too sweet). Shirley was a great host and was super informative and friendly all while giving us our space to enjoy. Of course we had to stop and feed the goats before we left too. I opted for the full Monty, ordering the the Ultimate Cheese Flight (which included 13 different available cheeses) combined with the Wine Flight (4 wines) and Dessert Flight (1 dessert wine and 3 dessert cheeses). No regrets. I'm not sure how I haven't been here sooner! Goat with a Pearl was a tasty smoked Gouda paired with the Spenker Petite Sirah, and while maybe not my favorite pairing, definitely one of my favorite bites. Stopped in for a tasting a while back with a paired cheese flight and man have we been hooked since! Everytime we are in the area we make it a habit to stop in and buy some goat cheese it is absolutely delicious, the strawberry is hands down my favorite cheese!!!! Spenker Winery is a cute little farm that not only has wine tasting but adorable goats you can go say hello to during their business hours. The goat barn is right next to the tasting room and they'll walk right up and say hello (no petting.) Their tasting barn has both cheese and wine tasting and products for sale. I didn't do any tastings but did purchase an herbed chèvre. They have yoga and soundbath events starting each March through the warmer months, so I may come back and do some goat yoga! If I could give them 0 stars I would. They claim to be a family friendly winery and they are very clearly not. I went with my 2 kids, while I was getting our things, one of the ladies helping us, she had very short curly hair almost like a fro. Anyways my son was waiting for me by the piano and he was looking at it and she yelled from across the tasting room to not touch it. He was not touching it, he was simply looking at it and she screamed. Both of my kids were walking around with us very close to us and she yelled at my children multiple times for simply being in there. I have told multiple families to not go there and would never recommend this place to anyone. If you have kids and are looking for a family friendly place do not go here! read more

Came here one afternoon while picking up a wine order from a winery down the road. The vibe here is so relaxed and friendly. It is truly a family run business! Everyone in the family has a specialty. One family member designs all the labels (they are great!), a cheese maker, hence the goats, one family member makes jewelry that is sold there and someone, not sure who does painting and quilting. Don't let the farm vibe scare you away...not that it should. This winery has wonderful wines and fresh goat cheese that they will pair with your wine tasting. There are quite a few snooty wineries in the area but this isn't one of them. Employees are super sweet and welcoming! read more

So I was a member here for about 2+ years both a cheese and wine member. I had a financial change due my lay off from a school district ,so I decided to email them to please cancel my membership. I got no reply or feedback that I was officially canceled. from them. So a month or so later I returned with family to show my family this place for the cheese and wine. Also keep in mind I have brought numerous customers to buy their wine and cheese all to help boost their business. As I was a member those two+ years the customer service was great alot of attention and interaction. But being that I was not confirmed they dropped my membership they were very rude and cold. Horrible customer service and a scam to get our money one last time. When I walked up to see if I still got my comp. for cheese or the wine tasting they confirmed no more. They said "Oh you dropped your membership... you owe 76.00 dollsrs!" I think better communication should be given at first, so that this doesn't happen to future customers. This was also a embrassing scene in front of family to us. So yes I should of double checked, yet as a business also they shouldn't give horrible customer service just because you are no longer a member, and scammed into thinking that you still are. Also, the hostess was so rude and unaccomodating to us was a shere sign of, " We should of left"!!! I will never come here again and all my family and friends I brought over the last 2+ plus years. So basically they lost 30+ extra customers which can be alot for a small winery. Alot of local wineries I know are hurting right now due to lack of funding and no demand in the wine industry. My family and I love coming to Spenker! The goat cheese and the wine are equally as scrumptious! The entire staff are so sweet. We like to go to events held here, and bring our family whenever they come to town for visits as well. Our favorite cheese is the Goat with a Pearl and the Herbs de Provence. Delish! A friend of mine is a member here and always insists on sending me photos of him drinking wine and eating goat cheese while I'm at work. So one day I was off and pretty much made him take me. The staff was great, they were helpful in picking out what cheeses we wanted to try and suggested a wine pairing with each one. We chose to sat outside near the goats and despite it being a slow day they had put the goats away but one of the ladies offered to let me pet some of the babies. It was a fun experience. The goat cheese is delicious! I had a hard time choosing which ones to take home with me but I knew for sure I needed the pumpkin spice one and I'm not a pumpkin spice girl. I will be honest, the wine was all ok, nothing that really blew my mind away but they weren't terrible either. The pairing was good though. My friend and I came here for goat yoga which included a goat cheese and wine tasting. Upon arrival we were greeted right away. All of the staff were super friendly as well as the goats haha. The goats were sooo cuddly and cute :) Beware that they do like to chew on your hair and clothes. The wine and cheese tasting was done in another red barn. I'm not an expert in wine or goat cheese but I really enjoyed the Jalapeño Queso Fresco! The time slot was for 10-1, however we were done by 12. We came here for the 2022 Wine & Chocolate event and chose this winery to attend their Winemaker's Dinner on the Friday evening before the event. I had been to Spenker Winery back in 2016 and loved their wines, and therefore I chose this winery to attend their dinner. Little did I realize what a lovely family we would come to know as a result of this event. Chuck, the owner, greeted all the guests outside when we arrived at their lovely red barn house styled winery. Betty Ann, his wife: the winemaker and cheese maker, explained the farm-to-fork dinner that their friend prepared for this event (more on that later). Their daughter, Sarah, served each dish to us and poured the wine that accompanied each one. The other lovely daughter was in the kitchen assisting with the prep. We happened to sit at the table where the owner and his wife were seated, and got to hear about how the winery got started and how it has grown over the years. The dinner was a four-course farm-to-fork meal, each paired with a different wine and a different cheese. 1. Aracini di Risso paired with 2016 Zinfandel 2. Mixed Greens Salad with 2018 Evenjng Primrose 3. Rotini Pasta with 2014 Petite Syrah 4. Zinfandel Pears with 2014 Zinfandel The food was made by a personal friend of theirs and each dish was amazing and delicious! Their wines are all amazing. We bought the 2016 Zinfandel to take home. They also have a creamery with the most delicious cheeses! Their farm is filled with goats and they offer goat yoga and other fun things. The following day we stopped by again for the Wine & Chocolate event, and they were offering cheese pairings with their wines for $5 each. They also offered free popcorn with a variety of toppings that you could add to it such as chocolate chips, dried cranberries, nuts, etc. This winery is my favorite in all of Lodi, not just because of their amazing wines and tasty cheese, but also the family behind the name. Truly the highlight of my day!! This was just the most darling stop during our tour of Lodi wine country. I was immediately pulled in by all the adorable goats. The little baby goats were galloping and jumping around. It was so adorable. They had several different kinds of goats on property. I recently lost a goat that meant so much to me. So to come here and see oodles and boodles of them made my heart so happy. The lovely Donna was kind enough to answer all our questions and talk to us about how they're cared for. You can tell these goats are loved. We decided to go inside the tasting room and check out some of the goat cheeses. we were helped by Sarah who took us through a little bit of family history. She set us up with a cheese tasting and we each wine by the glass. I tried the 14 Zinn and it was delightful! It was said to pair well with the Goat With a Pearl and boy were they right! It paired beautifully. All of the cheeses were delicious. Goat cheese is a favorite of mine so this was such a treat. I completely fell in love with their interior. The goat decor, pictures of various goats as well as the family, the mismatched chairs and antique tables. It was such a comfortable environment to be in. It was cozy and charming and fun. I was elated to hear about the variety of goat experiences they offer!! Including goat yoga, Goodnight Goats where you get to cuddle the babies (too freakin cute), and even sponsoring a goat!! Just paid $25 online for their sunday evening Goodnight Goats event off their Events website and worth every penny! So cute! A kid event for sure. Its in a barn with baby goats running free. This is a small farm with gravel/dirt parking, surrounded by a vineyard, kept quiet clean, small diy sign announces you're arrived. Small parking maybe 20 cars. Their events fill up fast. Very friendly staff with young kids wearing logo tshirts and jeans and work boots. You sign a release and then walk to the barn(a fee steps, not much distance). Not wheelchair friendly. You can leave your purse behind but can take your phone in. The barn is hot obviously and they give you chew toys for the baby goats. All the goats have names and chew on your hair, clothes, etc. if you let them. At the end of the half hour session they gather the kids to do a quick 1 minute story book. Then you walk to the main wine front area thats has central heat/air where they give you cute goat shaped cookies with a sample of cold goats milk. Very tasty! This store room has bathrooms, merch, goat cheese & products. Very small and quaint. Would recommend! read more

She was so friendly and her overall personality was awesome and made our experience enjoyable. We did the wine & goat cheese pairing. phenomenal idea. We had an amazing experience at this place. We made two different types of cheese and ate them at the end. We even had some to take with us. The cheese maker was very knowledgeable and passionate about her craft. The ambience was amazing and we got to see goats and chickens. They have a goat adoption program too and they actually care about their animals. This was my first time at this place but I will come back. The cheeses are amazing and delicious. So my wife and I were watching Married at First Sight... yes I watch that show...shoot me. Anyways, we see some newlywed couple having a blast at a goat yoga class and the wife says "OOOH I'd love to do that!" So I Google 'goat yoga classes' in my area and see that Spenker Winery provides such services as well as wine and cheese tasting. Now, I am not a yoga man or a wine conniseuer, so I was nervous about making an absolute fool out of myself. To my surprise, the class was beginner-friendly and the goats....oooh the goats. Friendly, charming, curious, playful, the list goes on. There was a lot more goat petting than actual yoga going on for my wife and I, but the staff didn't mind. We visited Spenker for the first time this Labor Day weekend! We had a reservation for tasting and were greeted warmly by a masked employee. We seated ourselves outside and had all of the delicious wines and cheeses brought to us table side for the duration of our visit. I'd been meaning to get over there after hearing about how good their goat cheese is and finally made it today. They do a tasting pairing wine and cheese and that was a lot of fun. I actually liked all 3 wines in the tasting as well as the goat cheeses. I rarely like more then 1 wine being offered so that was unusual. And the cheeses were wonderful. I had to give up cow's milk 4 years ago so goat and sheep's mild cheese is it for me. I bought a Camembert-like cheese as well as another soft cheese and a bottle of Zinfandel. They actually make ricotta cheese! I've been whining about not being able to use ricotta and now I know where to get it. And the goats! They are sweet, gentle and pretty. What a treat to be able to pet them and give them treats. I will definitely go back. read more

I found Spenker Winery somewhat by accident on a recent trip to Lodi. They are located on the Southwest side of Lodi which is often overlooked by most visitors. Spenker is very small with only a tiny tasting bar in the corner of the warehouse, but this is a great opportunity to experience the smaller, more intimate side of the Lodi wine scene. They focus on zinfandel and petite sirah and both were very good with a great taste of the local estate grapes. It is fun to taste how small changes in soil and climate can affect the same grape. The winery is also cute at the end of a shaded lane with a barking dog guarding his owner against those strange cars invading his space! Just pay attention to the road when looking for the place; you may miss it! read more

Brought my wife and youngest daughter here for a goat yoga class (believe it's their second year doing it). After the class they did a wine tasting for the class attendees (I was the lone male spectator the we're kind and included me in the tasting). While we tend to prefer full bodied, jammy reds, this family produces more of a lighter (European?) style Zin and Petite Syrah, still with a lovely flavor and peppery notes.
