I recently had my daughter's birthday party at this location with a group of 10 girls. My daughter had a great time, but as a parent, the experience was much more stressful and disorganized than I expected. Looking back, I wish I had visited the location beforehand to get more information about how the party would work. There was only one employee working, and unfortunately, the girls were not given much instruction. They simply picked out their pieces, which had price tags on the bottom, and then lined up at the register so we could pay. We also had to get the girls plastic gloves and aprons ourselves. One thing I really appreciated was being able to bring our own food and drinks. However, this location does not offer boba, while the Stanton location does. Because the girls wanted boba, I had to order it online from the other location, while still paying the $3-per-person sitting fee. At the Stanton location, my understanding is that the sitting fee is waived when you order boba. Having different policies between the two locations made the experience more complicated. The pickup process was also different. At this location, we had to come back three days later to pick up the glazed pieces. At the other location, they spray lacquer on the pieces, allowing you to take them home the same day. Since I live farther away, I ended up driving back a week later to pick up the girls' pieces, which was an additional inconvenience. The boba order was especially chaotic. We had 10 girls, and the drinks we ordered online were not labeled. We had to guess which drink belonged to each girl, which made an already busy party even more stressful. On the positive side, I thought the $10 photo booth was a great addition. The girls absolutely loved it and spent about 30 minutes taking pictures. That was definitely one of the highlights for them. Overall, my daughter had a wonderful time, which is the most important thing. However, from a parent's perspective, the party was unnecessarily stressful. I really wish there were more consistency between the two locations in terms of party instructions, boba, sitting fees, and how the finished pieces are handled. Having the same policies and procedures at both locations would make the experience much smoother for parents and would save a lot of time and energy. I hope this feedback is helpful, because with a few improvements, I think the party experience could be much more enjoyable and organized for everyone.
I'm not proud to announce that I have already been here twice in the span of one week, LMAO. Once for a crafting day with some girlfriends and then again tonight. I always underestimate how long it takes me to do a crafty activity because I'll sit down for the task and then boom, it's time for the business to close for the day, lol. I legit was painting for a cool 2.5 hours and still felt like I wasn't getting enough done. Anyway, Micha is incredibly affordable for the experience. While they have a smaller selection to choose from, the price you pay for the ceramic figurine(s) that's about $10 - $25 each as well as their $3.00 studio fee (covers supplies and glazing/firing service) is much more accessible compared to competitors such as Colour Me Mine and paint and sip places. You legit can't find rates like this anywhere else, especially not in a PoC-owned business at that. While it's great to shop small, know that you get what you pay for since their glazing quality isn't the best. Their glazing can either be really light or extremely heavy handed, as it's really damaged a few of the pieces I've created with them in the past. I recommend making a reservation if you're coming here on the weekend or with a large party since they do get busy sometimes. They also allow you to bring in outside drinks if you want, which I think is generous of them. Their staff is friendly and helpful. If you run out of a paint color or need additional supplies, just ask and they'll help you out. I'll definitely be returning in the future for more romantic, platonic, and familial date nights!
What an adorable cafe this was! I could easily spend the day here just painting. We called in advance to see if we could walk in, just in case! It would be better to have a rsvp for this place since they do tend to turn down customers if there's no spots left, and when it's getting close to a reservation time. My friends and I gathered our choice of figurine to paint and there was a wide range to choose from. I didn't recognize much characters except Sanrio but they had a variety to choose from. I would recommend going earlier to get more options as they did run out of items we were looking to paint. I wanted something more useful, but I ended up picking this sushi nigiri figurine to paint so hopefully I could get some use of it. The paint does tend to dry out a lot but they will clean it for you and are very attentive. They have all the right tools you need for your painting day! If time allowed, I definitely would have stayed longer to finish. I would love to come back again! Plus, Airoma being next door is a huge plus so we got to enjoy yummy matcha while we painted. Looking forward to see my glazed final product!
I recently visited after seeing this spot rec on TikTok for ceramic painting! The space is really cute w/ plenty of tables & since I went right when they opened, it wasn't crowded. The staff was kind & parking was spacious. My main critique was that many paint bottles had dried paint around the tops, making some colors less accessible to use. A staff member offered to fix them, which I appreciated, but I think the paints should be ready to use especially at opening hours. There's also a cute photo booth ($10/copy) & mini fridge of soda / soft drinks + tiramisu mini cakes near the cashier. Overall, I spent around $20 & enjoyed the experience! They glaze your piece for you & it's ready in 3-4 days. The only downside is having to come back for pickup, but I'd rec it for a cute fun activity!

The smaller figures start at just $15, and it's only an extra $3 for the paint and glazing, which is totally worth it. The larger figures are around $30. Compared to other places that charge $65+ for a similar experience, this is an incredible value. What I loved most is that they carry all the latest popular and trending characters. No matter your age, you'll find something you want to paint and proudly display at home. It's nostalgic, creative, and surprisingly relaxing. They also have a Photo Booth so you can capture fun memories, and this would be such a cute spot for birthday parties, date nights, or a summer outing with friends. If you're in Garden Grove, definitely make a stop here. They also have another location in Stanton. It's an affordable way to collect your favorite characters, get creative, and make some great memories without breaking the bank!
5 stars for Miccha -- Garden Grove location Location: Miccha has two OC locations: one in Stanton with a boba shop inside, and this one in Garden Grove in a huge plaza next to Airoma Cafe. My daughter prefers Garden Grove because they have more painting options -- things she actually wants to keep. Experience: This is such a relaxing spot where 2-3 hours pass easily. My daughter picked two figurines to paint for $10 and $17. There's a $3 store use fee. Overall it's affordable and wonderful -- we'd come weekly. This is the kind of business that thrives because you can drop in anytime, not just for parties. Customer Service: Edward is a standout employee. He went above and beyond like we were at some exclusive studio. He chatted with us, checked if we needed anything, and you could tell his heart was in it. He encouraged us and said, "It's nice to see parents doing this with their children." When I needed change for $100 and had to exit the store to Happy Lemon Boba across from Micha , Edward sat with my 19-year-old college kid to keep him company. This employee made the experience exceptional. Keep up the great work Edward!
Perfect date or family fun alert at Micha in Garden Grove!!! This is a bubble tea spot, but I mean... it's not your typical tea spot! You get to paint these fun figurines on your own terms and create something unique. Life is easy They provide all the paint and materials you need! This is a great place to yap while doing an activity, so we did end up staying after closing. The workers there were super accommodating and didn't rush us, they remained very friendly and welcoming. My friends and I really enjoyed the experience and even took pics in the photobooth. I used to go to Color Me Mine but this place is more affordable, and the glazing/firing process is much quicker. He said we could usually pick up our piece after a couple hours or the next day which was extra convenient. Can't wait to revisit, I've already planned to bring multiple friend groups here! Our pieces were soooo adorable, we were all obsessed.
It was super relaxing to go here on a Saturday night. We arrived at 8 p.m. so we had about 2 hours before they closed. It wasn't too busy so we were able to get a table. The only con is that they were out of stock on a lot of the figurines, so options were very slim. Luckily, we were able to find some that we liked and got to painting. They set up the tray for you with a paint palette, a water cup, and 2 brushes and you walk to the color station to choose 6 different colors. We ended up taking the entire two hours and it went by quickly. We got some drinks so we could sip on some while we painted. Once we finished, we had the option to glaze it ourselves (which wouldn't have been possible because they were close to finishing) or let them glaze it and return the next day. We opted for the latter because we had to and we knew we wouldn't do as good a job. We ended up going in the photobooth too and they had such cute frames. It cost $10 for two picture strips.
Newly opened space in Garden Grove by Airoma and Red Castle! They allow outside food and drinks and there's plenty of parking. They do have boba drinks in bottles and tiramisu. Highly recommend the matcha tiramisu - not too rich but great balance of matcha tea flavor and sweetness. You basically choose an unpainted clay piece that has pricing under it and then grab your paint brushes, water cup, paper towels, and tray to place paint in. After painting, you would need to wait at least 6 hours for the glazing and firing process so you can just come the next day. All you need to do is take a picture of what you made as reference. It's helpful that they have most of the colors displayed on the wall that have been fired to get a coat of glaze so you could gauge the color shade on the final product. They even have lego pieces and clay sets that you can assemble. Overall, a nice addition to the Garden Grove community. Note it can get crowded if there's a large party so make sure to book in advance. Sadly, no public restrooms from what I saw.

So excited about Micha's second location! It's located in a big plaza with plenty of parking. The store was a bit hidden away in middle of the strip of restaurants and stores. They have a bunch of different arts and activities you can do such as painting ceramics, lego building, and clay. There's a pain station with a variety of colors. All of their figurines are super cute! They have a few tables where you can do your crafts and a photobooth as well. They have bottled drinks and tiramisu and they allow outside drinks which is great since there's an airoma and happy lemon in the same plaza.
I recently learned Micha Boba in Stanton opened a Craft & Paint Studio in Garden Grove next to Airoma on Garden Grove Blvd, just a street over from Rodeo39. Love this spacious paint space! There is a wide variety of figurines to pick from and on the larger figurines, there is a paint guide inside so you kinda know which colors to use. I found my success by painting the cutest Patrick Star. It took me about 1.5 hrs but love how they have a drying machine and glaze for you on the spot. My son did the brick burger and I can't believe it took me an hour to build because it was intricate but he succeeded. To my surprise they offered me try their new bottled drinks and tiramisu. Their bottled drinks are so creative because is there pudding or jelly on the bottom in which you break it up with your boba straw and sip the rest of the matcha latte or milk tea. Really creative and enjoyed the textures while sipping. I did my painting sesh with my son and my dear friend Pat. She told me is moving to Germany in May . I'm glad I was able to take a few silly photos with her. I'm gonna miss her. Best part, you can bring your drinks from Airoma or Happy Lemon to Micha Studio and paint. They are okay with outside drinks. This would be a great date night, girl date or even have a small gathering or party. There is plenty of parking and lots of choices.
Have had this art studio saved in my list of places to visit for a while after seeing a fun reel on Instagram and finally had some time to kill in the area. It's a cute and roomy space, with various activities to do. They have a large photo booth and about 10 tables for painting clay figurines or making your own figure with their clay kits. Interesting mix of dark concrete interior with pops of warm light and color from some artwork on the wall. Have pop and kpop music playing in the background so overall the noise level isn't dead silent but quiet enough to paint in peace. Swung by around 1pm on a Tuesday, so was expecting it to be empty but there were actually three pairs already at work. Don't be alarmed if you don't see anyone working when you arrive since they're likely in the back. If you have questions before you get started just ring the bell at the counter and they'll pop out ASAP. When you arrive you can look towards the left of the room with a sign explaining the general process. Basically, first you pick from the wall a figurine to paint or to make from clay. When I went the display was about half full. Wide mix of characters from capybaras to hamsters to Hello Kitty to Stitch to Labubu. Their smallest figure cost $8, and the medium one I chose was $15. I like their range of characters but since the display wasn't as full as some of the review pictures show there was only one of each figure for quite a few. Was a bit tricky then to find a statue I really liked but fortunately found a Stitch one I thought was cute and hopefully wouldn't be too tricky to paint. Once you have your figure, head to the counter and ring the bell for service. They'll ring you up for the cost of the figure plus a $3 studio fee. I may be wrong but I believe that's a way better price than the chain studios. Then they hand you a tray with a foil paint palette, a cup for water, and two paint brushes. Afterwards you're free to add paint to your palette at the adjacent paint station and get started on your masterpiece. The color range is decent; they had maybe 25 large paint bottles that cover the rainbow, brown, pink, black, and white. They had a lot of smaller paint bottles with colors I wanted to use but sadly practically all were empty. I was able to make shades I wanted though by mixing the colors they had. They offer plastic food gloves and a plastic apron in case you don't want to get your clothes dirty. I'd suggest planning to be here for about 2.5 hours. Thought 2 hours would be plenty but actually had to rush towards the end to be on time for my later plans. If I had the extra half hour I would have used a few more colors and added additional paint coats, but was pretty happy with the end result. When you're done you'll bring your figure to the counter for the staff to take for glazing. You'll leave your name and phone number, and will be asked to take a picture of your piece so it's not confused for another. You can pick it up in 3 days and it is held for 2 weeks. I don't think they let you take it home the same day anymore. Also I was looking forward to trying the boba and sweets I saw others mention but the only hints of food I saw being served were prepackaged commercial beverages in the vending machine. Practically everyone went to the renowned Airoma next door. Didn't check with the staff unfortunately about the food situation but I'm pretty sure I overheard the employee suggest to someone to head to Airoma for beverages. Appreciate that they allow outside beverages because I'm sure some places could be pretty strict about it. Ultimately was a fun, peaceful, and affordable way to pass the time. Great analog way to unwind. The pieces are a bit intricate so painting is probably best for ages 10+, but I think you could bring young ones here as long as they find painting enjoyable. read more

If you're looking to be creative, this is a fun activity to do with friends or a significant other. Micha has a huge selection of cute paintable pop culture figurines like Sanrio, Kirby, capybara, Labubu, Pokemon, Disney, etc. It is an affordable hangout spot that is an art studio that has paint, aprons and painting tools. How it works: You choose your unpainted ceramic figurine, and then you pay for it at the front. Once you do that, they give you a tray that you fill with paint, paintbrushes of various sizes, a mixing palette and a cup to place water for cleaning your brushes. You choose your colors, paint your figurine, and then once you are done, they will bake it for you. It usually takes about 1-3 days, so you go back to pickup your figurine. They have a huge wall of the paint colors and you match them with the numbers. I chose a cinnamoroll character in a sushi. This was a small figurine, and I chose small paintbrushes to do this. I am not going to lie, my hand started to cramp since it required a steady hand to do the smaller parts like the eyes, and mouth. It was quite fun to do this with a bunch of girlfriends. We were able to chat and paint. We also shared our colors and discussed which colors work best with our figurines. It's a relaxing time and I loved that there were so many color options. It took me about an hour to do everything, which was not too bad. I took my time. What I love about places like this is that you can take your time in working on your piece and even if you make a mistake, you can always repaint over it after it is dried, since it is acrylic paint. Fun spot to do paint and yap. I would also recommend bringing a bottle of water since they do not have beverages for free. They have a vending machine though if you forget your drink. Definitely a fun activity to do if you are looking for something more creative! read more

The staff was super friendly and helpful, and I really liked that there was no pressure to rush. We could just sit, paint, chat, and enjoy ourselves. Once you're finished, they glaze your piece and it's ready to pick up in about 3 days. This Garden Grove location also allows outside food and drinks, which is a huge plus. Airoma is right next door, so we grabbed matcha to enjoy while we painted. They also have a cute photo booth that we used before leaving. I recently learned Micha Boba in Stanton opened a Craft & Paint Studio in Garden Grove next to Airoma on Garden Grove Blvd, just a street over from Rodeo39. Love this spacious paint space! There is a wide variety of figurines to pick from and on the larger figurines, there is a paint guide inside so you kinda know which colors to use. I found my success by painting the cutest Patrick Star. It took me about 1.5 hrs but love how they have a drying machine and glaze for you on the spot. My son did the brick burger and I can't believe it took me an hour to build because it was intricate but he succeeded. To my surprise they offered me try their new bottled drinks and tiramisu. Their bottled drinks are so creative because is there pudding or jelly on the bottom in which you break it up with your boba straw and sip the rest of the matcha latte or milk tea. Really creative and enjoyed the textures while sipping. I did my painting sesh with my son and my dear friend Pat. She told me is moving to Germany in May . I'm glad I was able to take a few silly photos with her. I'm gonna miss her. Best part, you can bring your drinks from Airoma or Happy Lemon to Micha Studio and paint. They are okay with outside drinks. This would be a great date night, girl date or even have a small gathering or party. There is plenty of parking and lots of choices. read more

I took my daughter here and it ended up being such a fun experience for both of us. The concept is really cute! you get to pick a figurine to paint, and they also have clay kits and brick sets if you want something different. We chose a unicorn and a SpongeBob piggy bank, which made it even more fun since we got to take home something useful after. They also serve drinks, and I tried the tiramisu matcha which was a nice sweet treat while we painted. The popping boba was a fun add on too. The space has a photobooth, which is a nice touch to capture the moment, especially if you're going with kids or friends. My daughter kept saying how much fun she was having the entire time, which says everything. Overall, it's a great spot for a casual outing, especially for families or a lowkey creative date. I also like that this is their second location, so hopefully more people can check them out. read more
A good spot for creative activities such as painting ceramics, building legos, building clay. Ceramics include pop culture figures such as Sanrio, cabybara, labubus. They provide all the paint and supplies to make it easy. Similar to color me mine. Better cause you can get the ceramics home the day of instead of waiting a week. There's also a photobooth to take pictures. Next to the popular matcha place Airoma matcha :) later they will have drinks and tiramisu available! read more

Such a fun place to hang out with friends and family! Lots of cute ceramic options to choose from. I went with a cat phone stand. Loved the variety of paint options to choose from as well. Our painted works were glazed and complete by next day. Service was friendly and instructions were clear. I would definitely come back here- highly recommend! read more
They have the coolest pieces here to paint. Inexpensive, as average pieces were $7-$20 which is cheaper than color me mine. Plus, the items to paint were more Gen Z relevant, such as Hello Kitty, Pokémon, and labubu-type items. The self-serve paint station and color chip wall helped us decide what colors to place on our palette. If you're feeling thirsty, there's a self-serve pay machine for milk tea drinks and dessert. Overall, the service was very good! The guy was nice and helpful. We came back the next day to pick up our finished glazed pieces, which turned out so beautifully! read more

Micha Boba & Painting is such a fun and unique spot that combines creativity, great drinks, and a beautiful atmosphere all in one place! Came here for painting. Had a great experience. The location itself is clean and organized. They had all the supplies very accessible which I appreciated. The worker was also helpful too. They did not have boba available at this location yet. Price was very reasonable for everything. Make sure to reserve online, I saw some people get turned away. read more

Boba drinks and painting/crafts is a fun concept! This review is for the Garden Grove location (right next to Airoma Cafe). Highlights: - Fairly priced clay figurines and plastic banks to paint ($8-$30). They are so cute! Some are Sanrio and anime. - Air dry clay for sculpting - "Bricks" figurines to build (about $7) - Premade bottled drinks and desserts (verly limited selection) - You can bring in outside drinks Downside: - THE FUMES. Maybe I should've expected it? I was there for an hour or so and really wished I was wearing a mask. Their full drink and snack selections are at the Stanton location. read more
Absolutely love this experience. It was a perfect time for me and one of my friends to catch up while enjoying doing something different beside just eating. I've always loved doing artsy things so this was right up my alley. The staff was very friendly and inviting. The space is nice for all the attendees. We came on a Thursday night and it wasn't too busy. It took me about 2 hr to finish the painting. In the meantime, I got to try their Hong Kong milk tea with Panna cotta and ube coco tiramisu. Both was very enjoyable especially the ube coco tiramisu. That was super delicious. They also had a fun photo booth too. Overall, the atmosphere was very chill and relaxing. Tbh, I was a little stressed out more from painting because I made the mistake of painting opposite side which cause me to mess up a few times. Now I know I need to paint one side at a time. I picked up the final product the next day and the place was completely packed. The final outcome looks so much better after the glaze and fire. Would be down to do this again! read more

Waited 30 minutes for them to open even with an appointment that I set a couple day ago for 12:00pm. It would have been okay if it had been any other day but we were celebrating my partner's birthday and I had my appointment set and confirmed. Really disappointing and I wish I would have at least gotten an email or text saying it was going to be canceled/ delayed. read more

it was a fun hangout with my sister and cousin! my sister n me chose two statues to paint. it was 33 dollars in total including the painting fee of 3 dollars. There was one girl that seemed to do everything, from stocking shelves to making drinks. She was very nice and even allowed me and my sister to have some more brushes. They even spray your finished piece with a shiny, glossy finish. You do have to wait until your paint dries and after they spray it you have to wait 10-15 minutes for it to dey completely. I didn't get a chance to try their drinks, but there were a lot of people that came just for the drinks, so I assumed they were tasty. Overall a fun activity to do with friends or family, but the bathroom was a bit dirty and some of the paint bottles' pump was clogged so i had to peel the paint off. If those two thinks were fixed, this is the most PERFECT place. read more

Wished I could've had a different experience considering all the great reviews and videos I've seen but was VERY disappointed. TLDR: I was promised specific figures would be set aside and saved for my appointment since they offer that. Upon arrival, the store was closed, lights off, no one inside. Workers finally arrive and I'm able to go inside. Workers tell me that they haven't heard from management to save the figures I had wanted so they're unavailable and they have no clue when they're going to be restocked for me to even reschedule my appointment so I left. No communication between management and workers. See below for photos of DM interaction. Entire story: I had booked an appointment for this past Tuesday (4/28) at 12 pm a week or 2 ago for my boyfriend and I. It was claimed that if you DM them on IG about wanting a certain figure, they can save it for you. I figured since we were going later this month for their soft opening I would reserve some just in case. DM their Instagram (see below for interaction), got confirmation that they were going to set aside some of my chosen figurines, and was set. There was an unanswered question at the end but I didn't mind it much (maybe a red flag?). I got the appointment confirmation text but at this point, no worries. I'm excited. The day rolls around and upon arrival, the store is closed. Door locked and lights not even on. We had arrived a few minutes prior to 12 when they opened so I thought maybe they'll come out right at 12. A few minutes pass, it's 12:02 and I decide I'll try DMing the account in case the store was closed that day for whatever reason. 2 people finally come from the parking lot and ask if I'm Katrina to which I say yes. At first, I thought of oh maybe a bad day or bad traffic it's okay. Then, we walk in and wait for them to set up a bit as we look at what other options they have on the shelf. I don't see the figures I had asked them to save so I thought "oh good thing I reserved them beforehand since it seems they've run out." My boyfriend decides on a figure they have but it's already painted on the shelf so I tell him that maybe they have more in the back. Keep in mind, every video and photo I've seen of this location has had their shelves STOCKED with tons of figures but the day we went in, it was pretty bare. We walk to the checkout desk and the lady proceeds to tell us that they don't have my reserved figurines nor do they have any extras in the back. At this point, I'm confused. I tell her bout my DM conversation on IG and showed her the photo of the ones I had sent. She says that management hadn't relayed that message and she hadn't seen the figurines I've wanted for weeks now. I'm genuinely shocked. I ask her then if they had extras in the back of the already painted examples for my boyfriend and I to do instead. She says that all they have is on the shelf. Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I weren't inclined to paint any of the options left so we left. Now I understand that if that's all you have then that's all you have. Nothing we can do about it but I was promised at least my figures would be saved on top of a late opening? They had no clue when my figures would even be back in stock for me to try and come back again. Drove from LA to try this new location. Very disappointing. If management isn't in contact or relaying messages to their workers then this isn't a business I would want to support or come back to. I felt bad for the lady I was speaking with since she had no idea what I was talking about so this reviews reflects the business owners themselves. read more

I was getting a drink at airoma and came across this place right next door , I went home and did some research and thought it would be a nice place to take my daughter. Recommend booking an appointment because walk in isn't guaranteed because this place can get busy. We came in for our appointment at 12pm , we are allowed to bring in drinks so we stopped at a boba spot before coming. We were greeted and was told to pick out a figure we wanted to paint , not sure if it was just the day we were there but there wasn't much options but we found one we loved , went to pay for our items which came out to $27 including material fees. Such a fun a little date or with friends . Also just fyi that you will have to come back the next day to pick up your figures because the employees need to gloss them . read more

They don't serve any food here, but the Airoma coffee next door is great! The girl who help us was super sweet and the guy at the counter was very polite when picking up the piece the next day. This was a super cute creative experience and a great way to catch up with friends. Will be coming back with my younger siblings to hang out soon! read more

Came at 11:00AM on Sunday, lights was off and nobody was here. Waited until 11:30AM. Upon walking in a lot of the items we saw online weren't available, and then they said there was a new service charge of $3 starting today, this was not disclosed when making the reservation. When asking if they had more flower pots the worker said I'll check, came back through the door with some but then went back in and said there weren't any. Then when we were almost leaving, they restocked the shelves! Overall not enjoyable experience. read more
