I stopped in to Factory Tea bar to try their popular array of milk teas. I started with their "Pure Oh Love" which is their Oolong Milk tea. I got it with 25% sugar and boba added. I thought it was a solid drink with and I could taste the Oolong flavor which I appreciated. The boba was also fresh, warm, and chewy which I prefer. Overall, good drink, nothing too special, but definitely a place I would come back and try their other Oolong tea options such as the Jasmine-Oolong Milk tea or their Smoked Oolong Milk tea. The store is pretty large with plenty of tables inside for you to sit and hangout with your friends and read/study. There are some claw machines around the store and I've often seen groups of friends playing with the board games or card games that are provided. For drinks, I like the jack & rose or the factory tea bar deluxe milk tea. They're out of the rose drinks pretty often though. The cocoa aftertaste does indeed come through in the drink, but it doesn't add much for me. 50% sweet was appropriate. Other drinks: 0.5/1. This shop has mostly milk teas and coffee drinks, with a few cheese foam fruit teas and other fun drinks. There's a sizeable menu of snacks and desserts. Of note, there were some discrepancies between what was shown as available on their menu and what was actually available to order. The egg coffee and coconut cafe latte were not shown as out of stock, but we couldn't select it when ordering. Ambiance: 1/1. The space is pretty big, with lots of booths and tables that can fit larger groups. Password-protected WiFi (check at the cashier). We were looking for a late-night treat and decided to stop in. Parking was decent, though I can imagine it gets pretty busy during the day since it's in a plaza with a lot of other shops. Customer service was excellent; the woman who helped us was incredibly sweet and very helpful. Cleanliness wasn't really an issue; most of the tables were taken, and the few that were open could've used a quick wipe-down, but nothing major. They also have some fun little claw machines, which was a nice touch. My fiancé ordered the Thai Crema Blend. He said it was okay.. not bad, but not amazing. He often compares Thai tea to 7 Leaves (his favorite), and this didn't come close for him. It had a much more milky flavor than he prefers. I tried the tiramisu latte and honestly would never order it again or recommend it to anyone. I hated it. And I don't hate much coffee.. I usually love strong coffee and could talk your ear off about beans and flavor profiles, but this one just missed the mark in the worst way. We also tried the bubble waffle with ice cream and fruit. It was okay, but I think it would've been much better dining in instead of taking it to go. The popcorn chicken had a very strong basil flavor, but it was still decent. The highlight of our entire night, which is funny because we almost didn't order it was the egg rolls. We ordered the small (4 egg rolls) and immediately wished we had gotten the large (6). A very nice and chill late night tea, drinks and snack place for people to congregate and either study or have a nice time chatting with friends. This place is located in an odd strip mall but it's much bigger than it looks. They have lots of booths and tables here and it was still pretty full around 9:30-10pm. I Ghadiri ordered their Factory Milk Tea and Passion Black Tea to try for drinks and their Milo Brick Toast with Ice Cream. The drinks were nice specially the Factory Milk Tea. It had a nice after taste which I love. The Milo Brick Toast was just ok, not something I would ever crave or get again but at that time of the day it would be hard getting anything better. My husband found this place on a whim and I'm glad he did. Service is definitely mid but the tea was good. We ordered the strawberry tea with boba and the aloha smoothie, which is a pineapple smoothie. My husband loved it so much that he bought one more before we left. Very disappointing experience. We ordered through the kiosk and no one greeted us or acknowledged us when we came in. The biggest issue was that they failed to tell us upfront that they didn't have boba ready. After we already ordered and sat down, someone finally came to our table to let us know it would take 15 minutes because the boba was still cooking. We ended up waiting over 30 minutes just to get our drinks. If they had been transparent from the beginning, we would have gone somewhere else instead of wasting our time. Factory Tea Bar has fallen to a new low. My family and I used to come here all the time and we loved the vibe of the place. The workers really need to be retrained or to have enough common sense to apologize when mistakes happen. They need to be aware of what goes on in the kitchen and instead of saying "4 more minutes, 4 more minutes" for an order that has already taken 30 (THIRTY) minutes??? We ordered two drinks.. TWO, and one order of fries. The teas are premade, you are NOT brewing it freshly in the back, and even if you did, it would take even less time than waiting 30 minutes. The night was dead and the shop was empty. What do you mean we have to wait 30 minutes for your workers to mess around? People have things to do. If you are paying these staff minimum wage, you might as well fire them and just have kiosks in the front where people can order and the workers can make the foods in the back. Instead of giving out the customer's drink, smiling, and saying thank you (LIKE A GOOD BUSINESS SHOULD) they leave the drinks on the counter. Another customer grabbed our drink, said she ordered the same thing, and did not apologize or say anything?? This experience has been one of the worst experiences I've had at this establishment and I will definitely not be coming back. I will also inform my family to never come back. We've been loyal customers for 2 whole years and with this experience, all I have to say is "wow". Retrain your staff. Restructure the way you handle your business, and have your staff be more professional and live up to company standards. Absolutely diabolical. And to the people who grab other people's drinks because you ordered the "same thing", maybe try reading and being an upstanding member of society rather than someone who is obnoxious, ignorant, and just plain dumb. I enjoy studying here! Big booths, a few outlets, and not too busy which makes it a good study space. Parking is easy and the interior is lit to resemble that of a bar which is very cool. There's also a few board games on the side to play with friends as well. I ordered a green milk tea ($5.46), which tasted pretty standard. Although the cup is a little bigger than the standard, they also add a good amount of ice which diluted the taste a little. The popcorn chicken ($7.80) was well-seasoned. Walk inside on a weekday around 8pm and you'll see the whole community of all ages inside working on their homework or studying, it's so lively and cute. Service is quick, you can order on an iPad. It's quite loud but a nice vibe if you like working with noise. They also have claw machines which I've won somethings from. Giving one star feels generous -- if half a star were an option, I would give it. I bought a drink so I could use the space to study, but every visit the store is uncomfortably cold except for a few spots. At first I thought it was just poor temperature control, until a manager or owner confronted me during my study session. A woman approached me with a condescending tone and told me I wasn't allowed to move between tables. She said I come alone, yet I was occupying a larger table that could be used by groups, and that this was "not cool." I explained I moved because the two-person tables were freezing and I didn't want to get sick, but she insisted: I stay too long, and by using a bigger table I was supposedly preventing groups from sitting there and risking complaints. She made it clear she didn't want me to study there for extended periods. In hindsight, it explains why the AC is always cranked up -- apparently to discourage lingering customers so tables turnover quickly. The interaction was awkward and uncomfortable, and I didn't want to continue arguing. I wondered whether other customers were truly upset, or if the real concern was losing revenue when space is limited. Regardless, the manager could have addressed the issue politely and professionally; I had purchased a drink and wasn't loitering without buying anything. This incident exposed what I see as poor customer service and a focus on sales volume over hospitality. I feel sympathy for others who left negative reviews, and I hope management will improve -- though based on my experience, I have little confidence they will. A brief confession: when I was a high school student and struggling financially, I once did something I regretted at this store. The owner confronted me and told me not to return. I apologized and stayed away for a while out of shame. Years later I decided to return and support the business because I like their drinks, and I've always purchased something when I come to study. Even so, I was spoken to harshly again today with the same unfriendly attitude. This experience has convinced me I will not return, despite the quality of their drinks. I've been to the San Gabriel location and the one that was "FTB on the beach" long ago in West Covina. My group and I went to the Saigon night market not too far from here and decided to drop on by without spending a pretty penny on some of the food booths. I was surprised with the huge space that this place had for seating. I'm not sure about how some of the boba shops are in OC, but it is tough to find boba shops with an abundance of seating area nowadays. There were some board games provided. I saw some groups bringing their own, while others were studying away at their laptops. I would say that this place is great for bigger groups for about 4-7 people in their own booth. From what I recall, majority of the menu is similar to the SG location. Was a little sad that they didn't do half and half seasoned fries here. The drinks are normal what you expect at a typical boba place, but FTB has been stepping up its game with some specialized drinks. Surprisingly, this is in the same plaza that is known for the Hào vi roasted Chinese pork next door. You almost never expect such an establishment in a plaza like this. I was surprised! After walking into this establishment, I noticed the cool neon lighting, contrasting with the black metal gates, and brick wall. It looked like a night club... for the youth. They even have an inverted light bulb lighting of the name on the ceiling. Okay, I say to myself, "cool interior but what about the drink quality?" I got the green milk tea with creme brulee. They called out our number after a while of sitting down. The drink was... FANTASTIC! It was not too watery, not too sweet but quality drink! Checked this place out based on Karen C.'s review - first - I haven't been to this plaza in ages! I don't remember what used to be in this space, but I'm surprised to see that My Hiep Bakery next door is closed - they were an institution in the area for mooncakes! Anyway, I think the absence of that bakery, plus a few other businesses has made parking easier to find in this plaza. This is probably the only cafe in this plaza that's not one of those "unique" cafes known in this area to cater to "certain clientele". So the great thing about Factory Tea Bar is that there is plenty of seating and tables - and a few scattered outlets - the downside though, is that some spots of the place isn't well ventilated. The entire seating area to the left of the restaurant as you walk in had no airflow - it felt like sitting underneath a heat lamp - which is terrible when you consider how warm it's been lately. I ended up moving from the first place I settled down at - to a communal table near the middle of the cafe - which had a lot more ventilation. In any case, I ended up picking up an Avocado Frappe Smoothie - half sweet, with boba. It's pretty good - I think the thickness is just right - not too watery - and the taste is great. Service is prompt and relatively quick. The clerk was helpful and friendly when I asked him for napkins since they had ran out at their service counter. Restrooms are clean and other than the ventilation issue in some spots of the cafe, the lighting, music, and general ambiance is great for meeting up with people or getting some work done. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect but I liked the subtle smokey flavor. I'm thinking that a stronger smokey flavor would be my preference, but I still enjoyed the drink.
