This is one of our favorite places to go in our in Bay Area Boulevard! Lovely decor reminiscing of a classic American diner from the 1950s. Food is amazing and the service outstanding! Last Sunday when we went for brunch, the manager noticed I was being served steak instead of the meatloaf I ordered, and he immediately took care of it. My family and I went there the other night and I had the chicken fried chicken with jalapeño gravy which was excellent. When bringing out our order, they brought my 8 year old son the wrong order but instantly fixed the mistake and our server was very nice about it. They have a reasonable beer selection also if you like the occasional brewski with dinner. My only complaint is that every noise in this location seems magnified and super loud for whatever reason I do not know. We will be back but probably just pick up for take out next time. read more

The restaurant was not busy in the front but I had called for 15 minutes and the phone only rang and said to visit the website to place an order. Then was given the run around at the restaurant about the situation. Keep in mind I am on the phone the entire time and the phone still was not ringing. Customer satisfaction they will receive poor marks this time but this is one of my favorite places to eat. Well, I've ranked Mia very high in my past reviews but today's take out meal was disappointing. Two fried chicken dinners. Last time I got this meal the fried chicken was great. Large pieces and actually a half chickTonite the pieces were small , over cooked, and not a half chicken as advertised. Two wings and a thigh and half a breast does not equal half a chicken. The Mac n cheese was dry, almost like they forgot the cheese. Mashed potatoes came with no cream gravy. I try to support take out but won't be going back until we can comfortably dine in . Went here because of the raving reviews I've seen. Could not have been more disappointed. Paid over $16 for a bison burger, and it was the worst burger I have ever had in my life! The patty was falling apart and was completely bland. I mean BLAND. NO TASTE AT ALL. The bun was mushy making it hard to pick up to eat. The only saving grace on my plate was the french fries which were awesome. People keep saying go back and try something else, but I'm hesitant to do so after such a horrible experience. read more

If you haven't been here yet run there. Had lunch there today and it was wonderful. I had the catfish (real catfish not sway) and shrimp platter. We were tired and hungry. We saw this restaurant and decided to try it due to the four stars and the parking lot being full. Once we parked and got to the front door; there were about 12 people in front of us waiting to order their food. My mindset was to leave and go try another more familiar eatery but my hubby wanted to stay and I'm so glad we did! He ordered the chicken fried steak with jalapeño cheese gravy and I had the shrimp and catfish platter. It was delicious! The steak was tender and the fish was thick and meaty! We were very impressed with the whole process. From waiting to order to walking out the door only took 40 minutes! Definitely not something I expected! I can't wait till our next trip to this area. Finally stopped in to try this place heard it was pretty good. Soon as you walk in you have to order no sit down with a menu type place, right away we felt rushed being we have never been here before but the people behind us were huffing and puffing cause we were standing looking up at that menu so we moved over to let them order cause obviously they were in a hurry. So my daughter decided on the kids cheeseburger I decided on the shrimp tacos and we got a small queso.. walked around the corner to get our drinks found a table and sit down waiting on our buzzer to go off. They brought out our cheese dip it was ok kind of Spicy but good. Then they brought out or food was not impressed at all my shrimp tacos were full of slaw had 3 grilled shrimp on them wow let's not go broke .. 3 shrimp come on .. and it also came with a cup of cheese dip if we knew that we would of not ordered the app queso lol . Was hoping this place was going to be a great in-between restaurant, but ordering when you walk in the door is more like a to-go atmosphere. The food prices seemed average until we got our plates, then I felt it was too pricey for what we got. We got the Chicken Fried Chicken and Pork Chops, chicken was good, but the pork chops should have been sent back since you could barely chew through them. Only server that interacted with us was the delivery of the food, so their was no one to complain to about the pork chops. The person who looked like the manager was hanging out at the patio or not to be seen. Green beans and Mac n Cheese where good, but not enough to go back. I brought my girls (2&5) for lunch the other day and the manager came over and asked me if I needed a high chair or help making drinks and I thought that was so kind. This is our first time here, the food looks and taste great, but the prices fells kind of high for what you are getting. This is actually not a big deal, what is making me give this many stars is because it took a looooong time to get my order, also, the portion I receive was smaller than other tables around me(chicken fried steak was really small compared to 3 other tables which were actually enormous compared to my portion.) For a chicken fried steak and one chicken fingers they took around 40 min. I paid 40 for that and a banana pudding and 2 drinks. We went to Mia's Table for lunch today and were blown away by the food and service! Got a chance to speak to Bobby Campbell and he was amazing. He gave us great recommendations and really wanted to make sure our experience was incredible. I had the chicken fried steak as well as one other person in the group and we both agreed that it was the best we'd ever had with the amazing jalapeno gravy. Multiple people had the burgers and couldn't stop raving about how good they were. We also loved the dee-dees dip as an appetizer. We were incredibly full but we took Bobby's advice and tried the banana pudding and some cookies. There was some heated debated over which was better. I never knew banana pudding could taste so good. We ate here for the first time last night. You order from a counter when you first walk in. The lobby is quite small so unless you know what you want as soon as you walk in, you'll find yourself staring at a menu board and telling people to go ahead of you. Ordering is easy and done with a smile, however, they give you the option of adding a tip to your bill which is ridiculous since you don't know how good the service will be after ordering. I left a tip at the table. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was delicious. I also had coleslaw and baked beans, also delicious. Wife and son both had cheese burgers. They liked the juicyness but didn't like the char broiled flavor. Also, our bill was $54 which included one beer and a milk shake. Seems a bit expensive considering the type of food we ordered, but my son thought the milk shake was excellent. read more

I took my kids to Mia's the other night. I was simply not impressed. My 2 daughters ordered a chicken sandwich, my 2 sons ordered burgers and I ordered the turkey burger on lettuce. The food did not taste bad at all. But it didn't wow me either. They give you a lot of fries but the sizes of the sandwiches and burgers weren't worth the prices. I think for the type of food they are serving they are a bit overpriced. I personally won't go back. There are other establishments where I can get chicken sandwiches and burgers with fries for under $10 each that taste better. read more

Counter service! That's the first thing that I do not like about this restaurant. The front was packed with people trying to get around one another to order. The food choices are standard American fare with a mix of tacos and nachos also on the menu. You of course have to go get your own drinks. No one attends you while you are dining even to ask if your food is ok. Mine was cold straight from the kitchen. Did not see anyone that looked like a manager and the staff all seemed to be food runners. The tacos were decent for cold tacos, but not decent enough to return. There is nothing that stood out or was exceptional about the visit. They have a "bar" that seats about five but seems extremely out of place for this 50s style diner. read more

It may seem a bit different, as you walk up and order at the counter, but different never tasted so good. First, I am a huge fan of the original off Kirby, so I was very excited to see this place open up in Clear Lake. This is comfort food at its best. Fried chicken fingers are always a winner, especially with the country gravy. Chicken fried streak is a winner too. I've tried just about everything at the Kirby location and this place seems spot on with the original so far. We will be back soon and often. Two star rating as the food was very good but service and overall experience was not. We eat out a LOT. We had not tried Mia's Table yet and wanted to let them work out the start up issues before we did. I don't believe they have yet. We got the Turkey burger, the fried shrimp & fish and the pulled pork sandwich. We also ordered the queso appetizer to start. They forgot the queso and brought it after we had our meals. It was good but the chips were cold. The burger was missing avocado but tasted ok, the fish had a tiny bit of tartar sauce (and we never could flag down one of the dozens of workers to get more). The fish and shrimp were good, liked the onion rings and fries. Overheard the people next to us as they had incorrect orders, missing various items. It's obvious the kitchen needs a quality control position checking orders before they go out (and making sure they DO go out). The server actually admitted they have this problem a lot. This is not a sit-down place, you order when you walk in. Dozens of servers bring your food but you are an afterthought at that point, and good luck flagging someone down after you have your food. You get your own drinks (no issue with that) but if you are going to make this a self-serve place, have everything available! Also, I put in the tip up front when we paid...mistake. A tip is for service above and beyond. Next time, I'll wait and place it (if anything) on the table. read more
