We met another couple for our first time eating at this restaurant. The ambience was great and the server in the bar area tables was excellent. The food was best of all. The guys had crawfish etefou and it was an 8 out 10, so very good. We also had boudin balls which were awesome 10 out of 10. My wife had the Bubba Lump which looked healthy as well as scrumptious. I've been here 3 weeks in a row since crawfish season! When I moved to this area I tired the food and wasn't impressed but the crawfish this year has been good! They are still a bit high per pound $14.99 and all of the additives like corn, potatoes etc are al a Carte pricing. We are crawfish eaters so we have 3 to 4 pounds each, potatoes and eggs. The flavoring has been super consistent and sizing has progressed. We always come into a clean restaurant- and our waitresses are always super attentive. As crawfish eaters we never need much! I'll tell you that it was a little bit disappointing getting the same kind of service in Houston that I get in San Antonio when I go to a BBS. It always seems like there's either not enough staff for the staff is always too busy in some other part of the building not being attentive to the customers. My example is that the entire section that I was sitting in most of the tables did not get service until about 10 to 15 minutes after we arrived and the training server named JadenA. Did not write down any of our order nor did she instruct her training to do so and in doing so she poured the wrong sauce on our softshell crab. It was some kind of citrus sauce rather than the BB's Tex Orleans that we love. Also, that same nine dollar single soft show crab took about 20 minutes to come out of the kitchen because we can only assume that she forgot to ring it in when we ordered it at the same time with our smoked Boudin sausage, which was amazing by the way, probably because it was purchased from another vendor who does a very good job with their sausages. Honestly had not been for the amazing crab and crawfish boil we normally order the experience, probably would've been way less than three stars, which is still pretty generous, considering the lack of service we received and continue to receive regardless of what city we're in. We were actually very excited to see how things would be in Houston, which is supposed to be the home of BBs and it turns out that nothing changed. Attached is a picture of me very happy with the actual entrée we ordered which was still damn near $100 for some crab and some crawfish that are frozen. I think that's crazy to charge the price that you do for frozen Vietnamese Crawfish. The service was good and we had a new person that was still training and she did excellent. They had checked up on us several times and I'm glad they did because that seafood boil got spicy, but in a good way! Service was extremely slow. Took maybe 5 minutes of me waiting to actually be noticed and be seated. Had to wait for someone to clean off a dirty table so I could be seated. Then it took maybe another 10 minutes for a waiter to take my drink order. For my meal, I had the Morgan city pasta with a Caesar salad. It's sad to say that the salad was better than the pasta. We recently dined at BB's Tex-Orleans Cooking (Baybrook) and had mixed feelings about our experience. While the restaurant was only about half full, with plenty of open tables available, our wait time for food exceeded an hour. This was especially challenging given that we were dining with children. Our waitress was pleasant in demeanor but unfortunately lacked attentiveness throughout the visit. Early on, we were told the kitchen was out of mac and cheese for the kids. However, we later noticed other tables being served mac and cheese. When we asked about it, our waitress responded, "I can ask about it, but there is no guarantee," and walked away. She later returned to ask if we still wanted the mac and cheese. We replied, "If it's going to be too much trouble..." to which she simply said, "Okay," and walked away again. Eventually, the mac and cheese arrived "on the house," accompanied by a snarky comment: "I know you guys are getting a little hangry!" On a positive note, the food itself was absolutely delicious once it finally arrived. Unfortunately, the overall experience -- which lasted about an hour and forty-five minutes -- made this visit less enjoyable than we had hoped. I pretty much live in the middle of this BB's location and the Pearland one. Typically prefer this one. I think I'd say this is more the family one and the Pearland one is slightly more of the "friend" one. Service is usually a little better at the Webster one as well and it's often easier to get a table. Our waitress was wonderful. I think Olivia, was our waitress. She's been there for a while, because she was also my brother, niece and my waitress the last time we visited which was at least a year ago. She is very kind, attentive and got us anything we needed. The downside, while our waitress was great overall service was a little slow. I think the kitchen was backed up. We were nearly done with our meals by the time they brought out our hush puppies and my basket of fries. I was excited to see the limited menu! Available M-F, 11am- 6 pm. For as little as $9.99, you can get a pretty good meal. With that said however, I was a bit disappointed with the puny amount of fish and shrimp I received with my fish& shrimp plate. See my pics. My brother ordered the same thing but fried fish w/ grilled shrimp and he had so much food on his plate. They had to have put some of my fish on his plate. No way that was fairly distributed. My niece ordered a boil. She got one crab, one potato and one corn cob, lol. Not at all enough food which she admitted but she seemed to enjoy and have fun with it. My fry basket helped fill her up a bit more. BB's is a great place to go with family, friends, groups or you could even dine solo on a lunch break or in the bar. They've got great happy hour specials on both their food and drinks, crawfish specials, and now the limited lunch & early dinner menu. BB's is a great place for local Tex-Orleans fusion! They opened in Clear Lake before the Covid so we only went one time before the shutdown. The. We got delivery or Togo from BB's which helped sustain us during the lockdown. Recently ordered the cold boiled shrimp with extra lemons and extra horseradish. So fresh & delish! We came here tonight to have family dinner. We had 4 adults, a child, and a baby. We were seated in the back which I appreciate because I'm able to have a highchair in the corner without it being in the way or being concerned that someone might run into the carrier. They turned a highchair upside down for me to put my carrier in which I don't love because those highchairs are NOT sturdy upside down, but I already knew this since most restaurants do the same thing and don't have slings. It is another reason I appreciated being sat in the back corner. Our waitress was Luz. She was fantastic and very helpful when it came to answering questions we had. It was a little loud inside, but not so bad that you couldn't hear each other talk. They were not extremely busy when we got there. It was a Thursday around 6:30 PM. They seemed to be getting busier as time went on, but we didn't have to wait to be seated. The food was great! My mom and I got Mama B's Shrimp and Grits with a side of the street corn. My husband had a po' boy and a cup of gumbo. My sister had pecan crusted chicken, and my niece had the kid's macaroni with fries and a side of carrots. She was very excited that her meal came with an ice cream sandwich. I also got a bread pudding to go. Everybody liked their food, and my husband declared that he WILL be back for more gumbo. The hardest part of dinner was that it was hard to share anything with my baby because of the spice, but he's okay with a little heat, so he enjoyed some grits. Here's what you need to know. My husband was born and raised in Louisiana and is very particular about his gumbo. He always the gumbo when it's an option so he knows good gumbo. He said that this is probably the best gumbo he's gotten from a restaurant in the 10 years we've lived in Texas. I am a bread pudding enthusiast and I have tried bread pudding from more places than I can even remember. (Just read my reviews.) We got a bread pudding to go because I needed to get the baby home and in bed. Of course I had to try it once I was home. I needed to taste it while it was as fresh as possible. It's a good one. Is it the absolute best I've ever had? No... but it's pretty high up there. The delicious foamy topping and the sauce that it's served with are *chef's kiss* YUMMY! I will definitely try it again at the restaurant so I can get the FULL taste and experience, but even at home an hour later, it did not disappoint. I left review a while back regarding crawfish feeling like they had been heated up- so it's my fault for returning. I had to return the crawfish twice due to heat. My first order was great (full of flavor and tasted likely they came right out of the water) ...the next order had to be returned twice before being rectified. They were definitely hot, but the flavor was gone. It is not the wait staff fault which is why I gave 2 stars for them. Not sure why they think serving cold food - especially crawfish is ok.
