I came to Miami nerds due to water damage all over my new my MacBook Air. First thoughts were, wait, this is an apartment. I checked the reviews and they seemed pretty decent. Pam answered me on the weekend, I was very desperate so I was just happy that maybe my laptop can be saved. She told me they will start Monday. The whole process barely any communication. I would call them during their working hours which is after 10 am. First week she told me to give them a few days, by Friday they would have an answer. Friday came I call, no answer. I called Saturday, no answer. All of my calls are within their business hours after 10 am, no answer. I don't like to bother anyone but if I'm told "by Friday we will have a answer for you", I'm expecting to hear from them or at least to know they will need more time. Finally when Im able to get in contact, Im told they need more time and I need to be patient. At this point I am desperate, so no problem, I can wait. They must be be fixing it otherwise they wouldn't need more time or be working on it. Another week goes by, same thing no answer. Im calling and calling, finally they tell me I can pick it up, they weren't able to fix it, too much water damage. After 2 weeks of waiting around, I guess they couldn't tell right away. I was busy and was not able to pick it up for another week. Finally I make it over, I meet the guy working on my laptop, he tells me he spent money buying parts, did all he could, but because I was calling they closed my laptop so that I can pick it up and he is too busy with other work, and they won't open it again because its a mission, that if I was more patient he would've fixed it. He told me google micro soldering and take it to anyone who does that, maybe after all the "progress they have made" they can fix it. I didn't understand, this is what they do, fix things, he had it opened but closed it, I mean they had it for two weeks working on it. He supposebly bought parts but didn't show me receipts. I felt scammed, but all I can do is believe the story. Some reviews seem legit so I don't doubt they can fix some things, but as you can see from my pics after going to a second person, they caused more damage and that did not come from water. Pam is very professional and accommodating. I feel like their repair costs seem to be slightly discounted. Most importantly, I know she's not going to make up charges for things that don't need to be fixed. For example, I left my laptop there to be repaired for a microphone and speaker issue, I was not able to hear sound when I played movies, and no one was able to hear me when I spoke through zoom. It miracously started working again when she was running diagnostic tests. She could've easily have charged me to replace multiple things but instead, continued to run tests on it. After days of running tests, she could not replicate the problem so gave me back the laptop with no charge . She also replaced my screen on my 2017 MacBook Pro in a very short time span for $100 less than my other repair person charged! read more

Friday, my HP laptop displayed a message to replace the battery. ok, I'll get right on that. Saturday, the. laptop wouldn't boot and the battery charge light was flashing different colors. after some research, I determined that I really should have paid more attention to the battery message. I called Pam at Miami Nerds and we decided that I would get the battery and she would install it. After a little research, I found the correct battery on Amazon with 1 day delivery. I also ordered a power adapter on the off chance that was the problem. it wasn't. Received the battery and power adapter on Sunday and called Pam Monday morning. Dropped off laptop and new battery and a couple of hours later I received a text from Pam with a picture of my laptop powered up. I drove over there and picked up my now fully operational laptop.
