If you're ever having laptop issues, GO HERE! The price it cost to fix mine was significantly lower than it would've been had I gone through Apple directly (since I didn't have Apple Care). There were also no hidden fees or extra unnecessary add-on costs. I took my Ipad to replace the screen glass and the home bottom, they charge $130 after few weeks we notice the glass was cracked or dirty inside and when I went to try to fix it, they do not offer any warranty, and further more the guy start acting very rude. I was just in South Beach for a short vacation this March and creaked my iPhone screen, the digitizer was also screwed so I had to get it fixed. I called around and this place said they could do it for $110. That's pretty high but thought at least they seem ligit. After the dude fixed my phone and I came back to pick it up, I handed him my credit card and he said, "we don't take credit card mahhn, only cash or check". I've taken a Sony Laptop to have the screen fixed after someone accidentally sat on it. The first time I went I was also told they only accept cash, and sometime checks from clients whom theyve know long and trust. So when my macbook that I purchased in 2009 was running like a snail, I took it there and this time I knew to come with cash. Which he doesnt collect until your repair is done. He updated and upgraded as necessary, and it now it feels brand new all for about $100 bucks the third time I took my husbands Laptop in to clean out a virus for $40. I gave 3 stars because its not deserving of a 1 or 2 the place isnt perfect, its shared between a real estate office, and internet cafe. But with the decent prices and the type of repairs I needed it worked for me. His office is upstairs in a back room but if you understand that rent in a prime and convenient location in South Beach is super expensive then you'd probably do the same. The Main problem I think is that everyone needs their devices, computers, electronics, repaired like yesterday and its only him and his wife. Imagine how many people per day are calling and coming in trying to get their items fixed instantly. So for me I'd rather leave my electronics a little longer and give him time to repair,so I dont get a rush job. read more

OMG!! Thank you so much Miami nerds. Thank you so much Pamela. I am leaving this review after their store hours because my phone was so messed up it was disabling itself. I thought my phone was a goner because it was so smashed and it kept trying to disable itself. I called this company on my work phone and asked them where they were located. Pamela give me great directions. Few things I like about this place. Since it's a residential place parking is free. It was easy to park. It felt great that I can just run inside drop off my phone and take off. Now she had someone before me, kindly I asked if she could just remove the battery from my phone at the moment so my phone wouldn't whip itself of its memory. She did that for me on the spot and then I waited she quoted me which was a great price. I've paid a lot more with a different company. She did what I like the most she gave me a window of two hours and accomplished the goal within that window. I ran out of hard drive memory and ordered a new and larger hard drive from Crucial. I needed to find someone with the expertise to clone my existing hard drive and replace it with the new Crucial drive I purchased. I found Miami Nerds online and called them up. There was some confusion as to the type of drive I was cloning (SSD or Flash). They quoted me $80 to clone an SSD drive, but when I arrived they realized it was a flash drive. They told me it would'nt be a problem, but that the charge would be $90 instead of $80. I left the computer there over the weekend and they called me to let me know they couldn't clone the drive as it was too complicated as it was a flash drive. I told them that I had the drive cloned when I went up from a 128GB to a 256GB (now I was going from 256 to 512). They told me to come pick up my computer. I picked up the computer and brought it home. When I turned it on a Linux screen shows up on my computer asking me which operating system I want to use (it seems they installed Linux on my computer). I quickly called them up and told them that I did not give them a computer with Linux and did not want to have to go thru this OS choosing startup screen every time I restarted my computer. She said it was not a problem and that she would have the technician call me to repair it. I never heard back from them. I reached out 2 more times, but still absolutely no response. So basically, the "nerds" at Miami nerds are incompetent and dishonest. I recently had the drive easily cloned by my tech in NY. I highly recommend you stay away from this company if you want any quality work done to your computer. They may damage it, like they did mine, and take no responsibility for it. I would also like to respond to the company's response to my review above. While it is true I told them it was an SSD drive and it was actually a flash drive, I had no problem with them charging me more $ as they explained it was more a more complicated job (they did not tell me they couldn't do the job). They told me it would be ready the following day (I had it cloned when I got home to NJ and they had it the following day). If they needed more time I would've given them more time, but they did not know how to clone the flash drive. When I turned the computer on a day or two later and it had Linux installed and requires me to go thru a Linux menu whenever I turn it on (this was not here when I gave them the computer) the girl who answers the phone said the tech would not be in until Monday and that they would call me Monday and take care of it. They did not call me so I texted them. I received no response. Then I sent a follow up text with a "?" in the text, which they again did not respond to. So they basically are very helpful when they want your business, but when they can't take care of a simple problem and change your computer's startup they ignore you. It's pretty sad that I have to keep on responding to the Miami Nerds comments below, but most of my communication with them was via Text Message. They responded to all of my text messages until I asked them to repair the problem they created. Now they are stating they don't respond to a "?" after I was told I would be contacted Monday by the technician to repair the problem they created, and I texted them to ask if the technician was available to no response. Why my technician in NJ was able to handle this simple issue without a problem does not seem to concern them. Their technical incompetence is only surpassed by their rudeness and ignorance of how to deal with customers. read more

I recently decided to have an old late 2009 IMAC repaired that had been sitting on the floor for quite a while. I needed a new hard drive so it was taken first to the Geek Squad at Best Buy in Miami beach, and was quickly told that it was too old for them, but they suggested that I take it to Miami Nerds. I was on the verge of just trashing it out but I decided to give them a try. When I called, I was invited to bring it over, and while at Best Buy I bought a new solid state hard drive to replace the old one. I met Pam, and she gave me a reasonable price to remove and replace the old HD. She had it repaired in about two hours but, when it was booted for the first time there were some conflicts between the new OS X and the new hardware. I was OK with it and knew from years of experience that making that big jump in equipment would most likely have some problems. Pam was not ok with it so she took the machine and went through it and solved the problems so when I brought it home it now runs like a new one. I am frankly amazed at how well the computer boots and operates. It is still an old computer but you would never know it when you are using it. do not take any electronics to this place to be repaired. they are fraud. i gave my computer in to get a new keyboard and they replaced the keyboard but my whole computer doesnt work after i give it to them. i call them to tell them that my computer isnt working after they replaced my keyboard and the owner said it wasnt his problem and hung up the phone on me and ignored my phone calls. they broke my computer and refused to fix it. do not go here......go anywhere but them. worst business in miami. their store should be closed down because they are fraud. read more

This is one of the ebst service you can come across. At first it is a little uncomfortable that they run business from home but the minut you meet them, you just know you made the right choice. I have been to them 3-4 times in the last year and everytime I have nothing but great results, timely repairs and extremely friendly response. Oh and did I mention all of this at a fraction of the cost. And they do accept credit cards now which is always a plus for my business accounting. My PC got infected with some crazy viruses and malware. This hadn't happened to me in years and so while I used to be pretty decent at figuring out how to rid myself of them, I was way out of practice. I called around and someone from an apple-only company referred me to these guys. Pamela made arrangements to meet with me at my convenience. There is a parking garage near to them, which is pretty convenient since street parking on South Beach is, 99% of the time, a really bad, sweaty nightmare. She met with me, took a look at my computer, assessed the problem, and was told that all my files would be saved and all basic and necessary programs reinstalled. I'd only had this computer a few months and used mainly for school, so except for my files and MSOffice, I didn't really have anything else. They completed the job in the same day for a really fair price. On top of this, Pamela was really nice. So -- zero complaints, fair price, fast service, fixed computer, with a bonus of ease of access and a pleasant disposition -- that's five stars to me! I definitely recommend these folks. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !! Took my laptop to him for shutting off automatically and not restarting. First time, after he has it 4 days, he says, "I upgraded your software and installed a new Apple hard drive". I pay him $160. 2 days later, shuts down again and error message "key is incorrect". Microsoft says this is the wrong key for this version. 2nd time, he says, "needs a new 'cooling system' " and I want $35 more. I wait 7 days to get it back from him and on day 2, it shuts down again. 3rd time, he says "needs a new mother board". This guy has NO idea what he is doing. Says he "has a hard job" and "I broke the computer, not him". WOW. If you want to throw your money away this is the place. read more
