The chips were fresh and crisp the standard salsa they serve with those chips was a bit underwhelming however, when asked, they brought out a much spicier and tasty hot sauce, it's not for the faint of heart, it's very hot. Their refried beans are the best I've had since moving to Mississippi, highly recommended. The rice flavor was a bit weak. For dinner, I ordered the Mocajete. Wow, wonderful, the flavors and the variety of meats, shrimp, cheese and vegetables where outstanding. Bring a big appetite, its huge. My wife tried the Chile relleno, it was different from her experience as it has no egg batter breading. Do not miss their flan. It is absolutely the best I've ever tased. While they didn't "hit a home run" with us, we're gonna try them again, their potential is obvious. Worth a visit.

ACP came with grilled vegetables that hubby said might have been the most flavorful he's ever eaten (this from a guy who doesn't like green peppers much). I had burrito supreme and it was very tasty. Chips and salsa as well as queso were delicious. Service was good and staff friendly. Bathrooms were older, but clean. We would definitely recommend.

We started with a chorizo queso that I devoured. M is fussy about chewy bits so (lucky for me) didn't eat his share. Then he ordered a carne asada with potatoes and beans - both regular and an interesting green! Cooked to perfection. Again, he is fussy about chewy bits but loved the flavor. I had a dish I've never seen on any menu before. A duck mole and rice tower. It was fabulous!! We loved everything. And. Guess what?!?! Free ice cream cones!! What a great place!!!!

Their salsa bar had great selection to get a good salsa. Salad bar is also included with every meal. We did not have any so I can't give a review on it. My husband and I lived on the AZ/MX border for 6 years and ate in Mexico often. We came to love a good authentic street taco. We travel full time now and are interested in trying a Mexican restaurant wherever we go as that became our favorite cuisine. Not all street tacos are made equal and I have found that many in the states put pineapple in their al pastor of which I'm not a fan. This place has good al pastor street tacos and it comes with great presentation with a big grilled jalapeño on the plate. There was of course the pineapple of which I've learned to pick out. My husband had what was called P5, which was chicken over rice with cheese sauce. He rated it as plain. The cheese had mostly absorbed into the rice so wasn't real moist but we had gotten a side of cheese dip and so he was able to have that as some extra. Overall , I would come back and definitely do recommend coming here. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures.

Chips came out pretty quick as well as the food later, but the service was beyond bad. 1st, no last call was made, but when I when too order a drink at 9:08 pm, I was told bar is closed. I then ordered food to go for my daughter, was told kitchen is closed and it was 9:11 pm. I then ask if I can have some tortillas as 3/4 of my plate was full. Server said let me check, but manager comes over. He asked what we needed, and I asked if I could have tortillas. He brought some over. Google maps shows this place closes at 10pm. While eating, server was rushing when picking up items on our table. Passing by us looking away hoping we don't need anything. As we are eating, brooms are coming out and cleaning all around us. The worse was at 9:40, 3 employees 8 to 9 feet away, just staring and arms crossed. Folks, it pretty simple, it's ok if employees want to go home. I understand. Just come over, and ask us we could start finishing up. We would have appreciated that versus the passive aggressive that was being exhibited by the employees. Paying customers should not have to deal with just plain rudeness. If you don't want to be open, then don't. Close at 8. Close at 7. Its OK. But when you accept a party of 8, we should be treated a little more decently. El Agave all the way.
