We started with a chorizo queso that I devoured. M is fussy about chewy bits so (lucky for me) didn't eat his share. Well, this restaurant is now called Costa Express, but I'm still trying to figure out what part of…read morethe experience was supposed to be express. We waited an entire HOUR for our food. When our food finally arrived, it was lukewarm. Apparently, the food was in less of a hurry to get to our table than we were to eat it. When we politely mentioned the issue to our waitress, she rolled her eyes. And the grand total? A little over $70 for three meals, three drinks, and a SMALL cheese dip! At that price, I was expecting the mariachi band to come out, sing us a song, and personally apologize for the wait. I don't mind paying good money for good Mexican food, but $70 for an hour-long wait, lukewarm food, and an eye roll wasn't exactly the fiesta we had in mind.

I also lived in Las Vegas, which has some pretty solid spots too--though let's be honest, San Diego still hits. I've tried a few Mexican restaurants around Mississippi, and honestly, they've been disappointing. But yo... Cinco Hermanos Taco Shop in West Point was giving me serious San Diego taco shop vibes. I walked in, took a bite, and all I could think was: YASSSS. The food was full of flavor and just hit the spot. I've officially found my new go-to Mexican spot. One thing I also appreciate about many of the Mexican restaurants here in Mississippi is that you're greeted with fresh tortilla chips, salsa, and beans as soon as you sit down. In a lot of places these days, you'd be paying extra for that. If you've been craving satisfying Mexican food, give Cinco Hermanos a try. I'll definitely be back.

After returning he took our order without writing anything down. On my way to the restroom he stop me and asked me what we ordered because he forgot. Typical when you take an order without writing anything down that you'll forget. I ordered chicken Alfredo and received rice & cheese with chicken on top of it. I ate it because we have waited so long. But my order was wrong. And the rice was super greasy. I just ate my chicken off the top of it. One star for my experience.
