We are from south Texas where we dine in restaurants that serve awesome and authentic northern Mexican cuisine. While I wasn't expecting that, I was expecting taste - spice, cumin, chiles, garlic, Mexican oregano, etc. We passed on the buffet which looked greasy and lifeless. The beans on my plate were soupy and tasteless and the rice had no taste at all. The shrimp quesadilla was an interesting blend of shrimp and chorizo. Generous portion but bland again. I asked for a spicier sauce than the salsa set out with chips and was directed to the buffet. Found nothing. The server was attentive and food came quickly. If you're looking for authentic Mexican, this might be it but they forgot to use any spices when they were cooking. read more

The food wasn't that great. I placed a To-go order, and it was cold when I got it. I was even there to pick it up early. They forgot my sour cream, and I also found a tiny piece of metal in my enchilada!!!! I hope I dont get sick from eating there tonight. I hate bashing places, but I will not be returning. Had a wonderful experience for dinner. I was told I was the first to order the seafood soup. And I enjoyed it thoroughly. Sorry I didn't take a picture of it, wish I did. Husband had a combo plate with a chili rellenno and burrito along with the queso fundito. We both rolled out of there with stuffed tummy and satisfied tastebuds. I'll start by mentioning that my visit here was during busy freaking rush lunch hour on a Sunday, obviously church people be acting crazy during lunch time. The place has fairly spacious, I'd say around a fire safety capacity of 80, well there were 1500 people eating in there at that time. Needless to say it was a little cramped. I couldn't get out of my chair without politely asking the african american man behind me for a little extra room. Had to wait for clean plates to be brought two out of two time, in addition to the long ass wait at the buffet line. Lord forbid you get behind a coupla old geezers making house salads counting out 17 croutons. No lie, I was behind a elderly gentleman that held up food traffic to literally put 14 cherry tomatoes on his plate?!?!? Was he about to mash them up and make his own salsa at his table? Sorry D'casa, but I won't have my feelings hurt if I never eat you out, I mean eat here again. The food wasn't that bad, but I like eating without wanting to blow my brains out. The seafood Fajita I got was pretty good and fresh. I asked for very light sauce, added pork, and the taste came out just right. My coworker had the burrito and he said while tasted good, but nothing spectacular. The guacamole dip was very bland. It's pretty much flavorless unless you add lime and salt. read more

I was in Tupelo for a short time recently and stopped in here to eat some Mexican food. It was a really neat looking restaurant. The atmosphere was great and I could order BEER which made me an instant fan. You could also order Margarita's! The service was fantastic as well. The food wasn't bad, it wasn't as spicy as i would have prefered, but it was ok. I won't complain. I can't imagine that I will be going through anytime soon again, so I really can't give a fair review of the place. It was totally packed out with people and they just kept coming the whole time we were there,so I would have to say that it's a pretty good sign that most everyone likes it alot. I'm a Tupelo native and I've driven past this place a million times, under the impression that it was just like other Mexican restaurants I had been to. That was, until my mom told they had a buffet. Hol' up? A buffet? What could they possibly have?! So, I went and checked it out and it was amazing!! I don't know what to say. My mind is trying to register how I got good Mexican food in northern Mississippi. One tends to think what would Jim Gaffigan say about getting this kind of food in the Midwest? I was traveling across the U.S. and stopped in. I'm a California native so I've been around Mexican food in various capacities my whole life. I did see some interesting things on the menu featuring nacho cheese or other equally questionable ideas. So I got the fish tacos. I made a good choice. Salsa- delicious. Chips- fresh and crunchy, not the chewy stale I was expecting Tacos- really good. So were the sides that came with them--Pico de gallo, cilantro, and a hot red chile salsa. It was all great. Good job guys. read more

Absolutely poor customer service.......picked up food wrong food put in my bag call back they said bring it back when I get there they proceed to give me my food that was ordered 1st which was cold I told manager hey food cold can you redo it so he thought it was funny laughing entertaining other customers my thing is I want what I paid for not cold food No apology or anything remind you this is my sons food so while all this is going in my food is gone getting cold! This place is among the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I tried the carnitas which were greasy, fatty, and flavorless. The yellow rice was a soggy mass. The entire meal tasted like mediocre Mexican food over which someone poured Wesson oil. The Taco Bell next door is much better sadly enough. read more

This Mexican food place - D'Casa in Tupelo Mississippi is a solid four star place. My fellow Yelpers got it right! Not blown away by the experience- but definitely pleased! The atmosphere is up beat- benches are comfortable with plenty of table room. The salsa is thick with chunks of onions, peppers and a whole lot of spices! It sticks to the chips as salsa is supposed to. The frozen margarita was decent and appropriately priced. The service was quick and efficient- not much pomp and circumstance- but got my order right! I had the carnitas- the pork was tender, juicy with a nice crispness to the edges! The rice and refried beans are typical Mexican sides- nothing special. As an added bonus- came with a nice side salad- fresh tomatoes carrots and lettuce topped with a well seasoned spread of guacamole. Also side of warm grilled tortillas. Highly recommend! I travel to Tupelo for business often and always make sure I stop here for lunch while I'm in town. The lunch dishes haven't let me down yet and I leave comfortably full with food still on my plate. Everything tastes fresh and is prepared in a timely manner. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is very attentive. I've yet to try the buffet, but I'm sure it's delicious too. Great spot with a huge buffet. I've always been impressed that they stock the buffet with almost their full menu. Lots of Mexican places limit the buffet to the cheaper ground beef and chicken items. D'Casa pretty much puts everything out there. read more

The food here at D'Casa is solid. The sides are nothing special, but it's all edible. The real stars here are the drinks. Mango margaritas are really good, but the Mexican Flag Margarita steals the show. I'm still not positive what it is but it appears to be a layer of straight midori on the bottom for green, some strawberry daquiri in the middle for red, and pina colada on the top for the white. No matter what it is, it's pure magic! The wait staff are always very nice and friendly too. If the food were as good as the drinks it would easily be 5 star. read more
