Is it the best Mexican food I have ever had? NO But it works in a pinch and you can't really mess of chorizo and eggs, I mean you can, but it's pretty hard. Rice is fluffy not sticky or crunchy and the beans are seasoned well... I grew up on beans, rice and tortillas, I know bad beans when I have them. I have been wanting to try the Menudo, Pancita de Res, but havent had the chance just yet- cuz I have a fresh pot I just made at home, and it seems when I want some, I already have that pot made, lol. I really enjoy the gorditas here, and again, something we always ate at home, so it's nice when you eat out and it brings back good childhood memories. Staff is nice, I mean , they aren't there to make you feel better, but they are polite and helpful, cuz you know, ordering Mexican food is all about proper decision making, it's not just tacos and burritos, there is a whole other menu like their Chilaquiles, yep order yourself some!!! read more

My fiancé and I came here randomly the other day. We just moved to Jackson about a month ago and we wanted to find some Jems here. We tried Juanitos before, but they didn't cut it. They say they are authentic, but they don't taste it. However, Mi Sazón!!!! WOW!! Sooooo happy we found it!!!!!... it's a family owned business, it's simple, and the food is just wonderfully fantastic! My fiancé had the burrito and I ordered the bistek encebollado. Both came with rice and beans which were to die for!!! My dish also came with wraps. This place was quick, had a lot of food, and you got a lot of bang for you buck! Everything is made to order and fresh! We only spent 24 bucks for the 2 of us!!! The also deliver, which is fantastic!.. I was drawn to try this restaurant based on the reviews. The food was just ok. I really wanted to try the Gordita but after asking the lady at the counter what her favorite thing on the menu was I changed my order to Sopes. It wasn't something I would order again. It really looked better then it tasted. My husband ordered the chimmychanga (not sure if that's spelled right) & I ordered one of each item from the kids meal: quesadilla & burrito. Everything we ordered seemed to need salt. The beans were very bland like they just came out of a can. The rice was ok but the winner of all the meals was the individual taco. I ordered the taco carnitas or slow pork as the worker explained. It was really good & only $3. You can't beat the price. I ended up ordering 3 more to-go. I do recommend this place for the individual tacos if that's something you're in the mood for. I don't know if I will come back to this place since I now will be on the hunt for something with a more promising menu. The place itself was grungy & needed a lot of cleaning. I didn't base my review on this but it's usually something I take into consideration. Mi Sazón is practically walking distance from my house. I've been eating here since it opened. They used to have amazing tamales! Unfortunately, it became hard to figure out which days they were going to be made. Then the changed their hours a few times (pre-pandemic) so I stopped going as often because I could never figure it out with my work schedule. I really wish they had an Instagram page so I would be more in the know of their specials and stuff. They didn't always offer a delivery option but they are now partnered with Grubhub and their website says they also use Doordash and UberEats. The food has always been good and I can't personally claim it's authentic because honestly, I've never been to Mexico, but the flavors seem really genuine. The tacos and guacamole are delicious. I hope to be able to go here for food more often in the future. read more

Their food is tasty but they were very unprofessional, the lady hung up on me when I explained that I was charged twice. Because their delivery service told me to cancel and reorder to get a driver available as first time there was an issue. I called her to explain and she said no problem she wouldn't charge again, then when I explained the first order didn't cancel, she said it wasn't her problem and that she made the food already for the first order that was the same as the second. So she totally ignored what I had explained to her over the phone the first time and the second time she said it was not her problem rudely hung up on me. So I was charged closed to $100 for one order, so $ 48 dollars twice. If it weren't for my pleading the delivery service to see I was charged twice for the same food that she made only once. I would have been shortchanged. And also on a second order I was charged additional for mixed chicken and steak, in my meal, which I only got chicken. And they no longer have someone to call to resolve the issue. read more

Best authentic Mexico food that I ever had had and I have been to Mexico 10 times. Got a 10 buck Veggie burrito and it filled me for six hours. First burrito that I ever got that was toasted in the outside and it tasted great. Hard to find by car and it is a bit dumpy if you eat inside. No liquor allowed. Get your meal there and eat at home as Mexican food gets a bit messy in the car. Best Mexican food in this area and inexpensive prices too. read more

It's a shame that yelp only has 5 stars because this restaurant deserves more than that. My wife and I just had dinner there and it was absolutely phenomenal. We both got beef enchiladas and guacamole. During covid it was take out only, so we had to get takeout. Unfortunate because the inside looked lovely and quaint. When they handed us our food, it was one of those moments where you were not ready for the weight of the bag. Each meal was loaded with food, so much so that we could have easily split one meal. 4 enchiladas, what had to be 3 scoops of rice and a hefty portion of beans has me plastered on the couch like a bloated tick. The food was delicious however when ordering, we were forced to order two of everything even though the menu said "Tacos...$2.50 each". I started to order and said 3 steak tacos, 4 chicken, 1 chorizo, 1 pork" when the man informed me that I needed to order them each In a minim if two. So I was forced for buy 4 steak, 2 chorizo ($5) 2 pork ($5) and a few other ones that we wanted one of each... so shouldn't the menu reflect that? "Tacos(2)...$5. That would make a big difference in what i order. I felt like i was forced to spend more than I wanted when I wanted more variety. Food was decent. Big portions inside a bigger corn shell. This is NOT Taco Bell or Tex mex. this is authentic Mexican with cilantro and lime. I wish they added queso cheese to them. These are corn tortillas and dry. That is how they are supposed to be. I was there with Eve S., I picked this place for us to try it out cuz of good ratings/reviews, big mistake! We were the only people there around dinner time, table was sticky n floor was greasy, uh oh, we should've left right away but didn't cuz of reviews. We waited quite awhile before an underage girl came over to take our orders. I asked about some menu of what was in these food, she didn't understand us n this girl got her mother over, n her mother spoke Spanish, explaining of what was in it, girl translated as she didn't know what was in each menu! No silverware, I asked for it n she brought just for me but not for Eve, duh! Water was awful. Food was bland. Got takeout here yesterday and wish I didn't. Ordered the steak with onions and it was tough to chew and get down. The serving size of the rice and beans was a quarter of one of those styrofoam containers you get at the chinese food places. I have eaten at plenty of Mexican restaurants and this one was the worse in terms of flavor. The worse part was that I had to end up cooking afterwards because the portion didn't even fill me up. This Mexican Restaurant is a authentic as it gets! The restaurant is a small great place that has awesome steak enchiladas as you can see by my photo. My boyfriend had the marinated pork platter with rice and black beans and my brother had the garlic shrimp with the same sides. Beyond delectable and more than anyone can possibly eat in one sitting! We had pork quesadillas (took some home) too. Side of guacamole (brought some home) fresh made. The meals come out as they are ready-- one by one, the only drawback, but not really because the food is hot and fresh! Support this place if you love Mexican food. Family owned and operated. I've been going here once in a while whenever I feel like I'm in the mood for some Mexican food. So far, every time I left the restaurant, my plate was empty and I was happy. The serving sizes once again are big, but not too much that I feel bloated. It's the perfect amount of 'I want to eat a good amount but not feel terrible when I walk out'. I've tried a few different dishes and all of them were savory and good. Their homemade hot sauce is still amazing and I use it on everything! Their beans on the side are still so good and the serving amount is just enough to be more than satisfied :) It seems like they took into consideration our reviews, because this time they asked if I wanted bottled or glass of water instead of assuming bottled and I'm very grateful for that. Keep up the awesome work and improvements! Once again, I have nothing to complain about. The food is great, the serving size is amazing, the price is right, the staff is friendly. My wife and I were looking for a change of pace in Mexican food. We found it at Mi Sazón. It is a small family run restaurant, the owners are very nice. Yelp has it categorized as Tex-Mex and though I am not Mexican, I would call it authentic Mexican. That said, the food is awesome. The caldos (soups) are great and I'm addicted to the cemitas (huge Mexican sandwichs). My wife loves the enchiladas and burritos, too. There's all-day breakfast on the menu, too. Give this place a try, you'll like it. Just don't expect it to be tex-mex, like some other 'Mexican' restaurants, it's not. read more

My two daughters (4 and 6 years old) love this place. It's a quaint, quiet restaurant on the corner of an older shopping complex so it's easy to miss. I'm glad that we decided to check this place out a few weeks back - now we go almost weekly. My girls always split an order of 3 tacos, usually chicken. We don't get the "American Style" so it's just chicken, onions and cilantro on a flour tortilla. Whatever the chicken is marinated in makes this simple dish super yummy and they love squeezing their limes over the tacos. Yesterday I got a shrimp dish - Camarones a la Mexicana, serviced with rice beans and tortillas. The sofrito and seasoning is perfect. We also always get the guacamole with chips. I am writing this review is because this restaurant sucks! Their service is so bad, they had a 12 yr old waitress who has no idea what she is doing. They served us warm water with limes on the plate???? They have no idea what English is as they are Spanish speaking people working in a Mexican restaurant. They speak broken English and we cannot understand what they are saying. The place is dirty, greasy and the tables, too. This is like a pick up food joint not a place to sit and eat. This restaurant and the grocery next door have gone through a back and forth over the past few years, but it seems settled...this is the place to get prepared food and next door is where to go for Mexican and South American specialties. So for Mi Sazon, the food is very good, especially if you've figured out what you want. I'm very very white, don't speak a word of Spanish but like tasty food of every country I've tried. The menu items have names that you'll recognize from every other Mexican restaurant, but they are more authentic so the food may be a bit different. For example, real tacos and enchiladas are not wrapped up like Taco Bell, but the meat and accompaniments are high quality and perfectly made. Their marinaded pork is especially wonderful. If you are not looking for new and different, order a burrito, it's like you're used to but really good. I see reviews about the service and their young waitress...ignore that if you're looking for a good meal. Date night and event restaurant outings should be saved for somewhere else, this is just really good food whether at their diner style tables or take out. read more

After a long hard day at work, when most people want to go to bed, i want to go to Mi Sazon Restaurant. The environment is uplifting and welcoming. I always feel at home when i go to this restaurant. They never fail to leave me happy and satisfied. The food is always delicious no matter what you get. They have excellent serving sizes and great customer service. While your waiting for your meal you get a fresh basket of tortilla chips and salsa, free of charge! My personal favorite off the menu is the cemitas.
