The only restaurant in town I like better than this is Diana's because the Carnitas are crispier. But mi pueblo is definitely my second favorite in town. I think they only serve it on Tuesdays but the white salsa is very good. I think it's a jalapeño Crema. I really like the way mi pueblo does crunchy tacos, and surprisingly their chips. The restaurant is a little old but it adds to its charm. I was very happy to seethe Mi Pueblo family take over this location because I did not love it before. Came here while the family was out visiting. Chill little spot located inside a strip mall. The six of us got seated and were helped by a waitress who had problems communicating with us. Thought we got everything squared away but two of our orders got screwed up causing some disappointment. Food was decent we tried cheese and onion enchiladas, steak tacos, chili rellenos, and a couple margaritas. Just kind of sucked that two of our orders got messed up including mine. Requested a chorizo taco and got something that was not that. Chile rellenos were excellent. Rest of the food was pretty average including the margarita. Tons of Mexican restaurants around to try so I probably won't be coming back to this one even though the food was decent. read more

Decent, 3.5 at best for what I'd normally look for. This is one of the few vegetarian options that are available since there aren't that many restaurants in the area so I can't really knock it too much. After yesterday, I don't really want to experiment with converting regular meals into vegetarian ones either so I'll try what's available first outside of just going for a veggie burger or something. So I got the vegetariano mas. Decent I'd say, not as much of the veggies as I would like personally. Lots of empty space taken up by tortilla, rice, or shredded lettuce. The veggies were just here and there though what I would hope for for 8 dollars is that there would be some at least every other bite if not every bite. Maybe I should just convert to eating meat if I'm getting lunch in the area since options are slim... I do have two other options though to try out with good viable vegetarian options though so we'll see. The sauces were good though. Many of them had very earthy flavors except for the green. The salsa had a good amount of spice and kick to it. I'd almost give it a 4 just for those. Green sauce was clean, light kick, good flavor. Similar to other green sauces I've had. The orange sauce tasted like it deserved to have a whole bunch of seafood in it. And I would have had I had seafood to do so. There was also some type of chili oil akin to that you'd see in asian restaurants. Or the stuff that you get in the little red jars from asian markets with fried chili flakes in oil. The taste is a bit different though since it isn't just spiciness and salt, but a light sweetness with some earthy flavors and a hint of kick at the end. Not the best Mexican food in Windsor. It just seems they warm food in the microwave oven. It's ok for a quick bite if your hungry. We have heart great things about this place and it didn't disappoint! If I'm being perfectly honest the only reason we came here is because we were craving quick and cheaper Mexican food - we originally headed to Taco Bell but felt so lame going there sober on a Saturday afternoon. We sat at the bar and had fresh hot chips that paired nicely with with their salsa bar. I was also pleasantly surprised that a lint of Sculpin IPA is only $4.75! (And even cheaper during happy hour!) I asked the husband if he wanted to split a burrito but he was starving so we each got our own. Holy mistake that was! These things are less than $10 and the size of a newborn (ish). We easily could've split one, but they are for great leftovers the next morning. His carnitas super burrito was delicious and my regular child verde was equally as good. Meh...I used to like the one in Cotati, but this wasn't great. The meat was pretty bland, carne Asada and grilled chicken, needed spices/salt. We came here only because of a coupon in the Sonoma Savings Card book. However, there was a sign near the register saying that the savings book published their ad for bogo entrees before they approved it. They offered 20% off, which was nice, but we wouldn't have come here otherwise and as it wasn't that great we won't be back. The seafood soup was delicious, packed with crab, scallops, vegetables. The carnitas sopa was great, the tamale was ok. As I write this, I realize I never got the side of rice! Mmmm so good, this was better than most. The horchata at Taqueria Mi Pueblo was the chilled, creamy, cinnamon drink I was looking for. Not all horchatas are as tasty as the one I got from this spot. The warm spices were uplifting and the flavor just right. It's a great combination with the crunchy chips they serve and their salsa, which is pretty great. The salsa bar was clean, with more flavor options than most including fresh pico and slightly creamy salsa verde, I'm always happy with that choice. I just had pretty good Mexican food north of San Francisco in Windsor. The chips and salsa were great, the Camarones Empanizados was very good, they give you lots of shrimp, I made two little tacos for later. The staff were good people as well. Eat here you won't be disappointed. read more

We went here last night and was less than impressed. I love this chain of restaurants; probably the best authentic Mexican food in the area. That being said the food was meh. I got the Alambre plate for $15.99 and the amount given was very little meat with half a plate of rice and beans, quarter plate of a lettuce pile with 1/4 avocado, and a quarter of the meat. For $15.99 I think there should be more meat. Salsa is always good and service was okay. They had one guy service a busy dining room which makes no swans on a Saturday night at dinner time. Like I said, food is good here, service, price relative to portion size are lacking. read more

A great menu with a lot of options. The chips and salsa was fantastic (hot fresh fried tortilla chips). After plowing through the first basket and excellent salsas, our waitress brought another hot fresh basket of chips and pointed out their salsa bar. Really nice selection of salsas and they were all very tasty. The back of their menu is dedicated to mostly kids items and has pretty good options. Nice work! Food came out fast and mine was very flavorful. My wife had the crunchy beef tacos and she said it was just OK. The rice and beans that accompanied the meal was just your standard fare but was still good. I think they are still working out the kinks because we had to bring up a mischarge on our bill but all in all it was a good meal. The Customer service was very good and attentive and we watched a steady stream of customers walk through the door. We will have to give them another try in a few months but would really like to give them ***1/2 stars instead of 3 but YELP doesn't give us that option yet (come on Yelp... Let us give 1/2 stars on our reviews). I think they have great potential here in Windsor and am looking forward to our next visit. read more

It's huge! Yup, that's what she said...when the burritos came out! Just kidding about the comment, but the burritos were seriously huge! I ordered two California burritos to go (the ones with fries inside). One had the grilled chicken and the other had the shredded chicken. Both were very tasty and were stuffed with fries, chicken, beans, rice and sour cream. Overall it was a great value for the price of the burrito. I didn't eat both in one sitting, but it held very well the next day after nuking it in the microwave. Their menu is pretty extensive and I would be interested in trying their platters. My only gripe was that my order only came with one small bag of chips. I would've thought since I ordered two burritos, each would come with its own bag. Not the case here. But the burritos, at least the California burritos I ate, were superb. read more

Let me start by saying we love this restaurant and the food and have been coming here for years! On Monday night we decided to go out to dinner because we were celebrating my son who passed away birthday. We all had emotional day grieving my son. It was so nice to walk in and have no wait. As we sat down I put my two year old in his seat and sat down myself. My 2 year old started counting the sugar packets on the table. Having had an emotional day and it was keeping him busy and calm, I didn't see anything wrong with it. The waitress rudely walked over and said " he can't touch those. Everytime people touch them we have to throw them away!" I was baffled. You mean to tell me because he's counting them you now have to throw them away? Do you throw away salt and pepper shakers that everyone touches? The chip baskets? I mean seriously? She responded " I don't make the rules!" I was appalled by her attitude. She was happy when we got up and left deciding we did not want to celebrate my son's birthday in heaven with this piss poor waitresses attitude. Maybe she had a bad day... But I don't care. It absolutely ruined my son's birthday celebration. It's a shame because we Love The food and normally the staff, but my family and I were so disgusted with this waitresss attitude and lack of customer service don't think we want to return. read more

My husband and I shared the shrimp marinero along with two carnitas tacos and we couldn't have been more satisfied!! The burrito was fantastic. The mushrooms, which one would think is a funny thing to add to a burrito, was a mouthful of delight! The burrito and the tacos were a VERY generous helping of meat and filling! We also got a kids rice, bean, cheese, burrito with chicken. That came with beans and rice and was also a very generous portions. Mi Pueblo was recommended by a friend. I passed by it all the time as it's located between Raleys and the Post Office. Finally one day I ordered food to go - it was amazing. Very tasty and fresh, with plenty of chips and generous choices of salsa. Once Covid closed indoor dining, Mi Pueblo went above and beyond to serve their amazing food "to-go" to the community. They were incredibly organized, extremely safe, and clearly were busting themselves to have orders ready - all while being upbeat and polite. My love and I ordered the Carne Azteca, with it being (grilled steak) with tomatoes , mushrooms, onions & grilled cactus... Yes, no needles. An ingredient staple in Mexican culture (also known as grandma's original mexican dish)... We Substituted the red sause ause for Verde Sause. Seats at the bar are best to catch up on any sport game. Great family run restaurant such as the one we frequent in Cotati. Many beers on tap, but always prefer the Strawberry or Peach Marguritas! My wife & I had an early dinner on Monday 5 September Labor Day at the Windsor Mi Pueblo Restaurant location. My wife ordered the cheese enchilada and carnitas taco combination and I had the Chile Colorado. Both dishes were up to the standards set by the numerous other North Bay Mi Pueblo restaurants. I especially like the salsa bar that is included with all meals. There is a nice selection of salsas. I only wish they provided labels on the salsa offerings so I could tell others which ones I enjoyed the most. The service was prompt and friendly. There are several Mexican restaurants in Windsor, but I think Mi Pueblo is my favorite. read more

I arrived about 1:00 for lunch and the place was very busy, which I took as a good sign. A reliable friend recommended this place so I was looking forward to a good meal. Either I ordered the wrong thing (Camarones al a Diabla) or it was an off day. My plate looked more like a dry shrimp fajitas (there was no sauce) than the red Diabla sauce I expect. And it was very bland, which is ironic because it should be one of the spiciest dishes in the restaurant. The shrimp itself was a little dry and tough too. Once my plate was delivered to my table I never saw my waiter again, so I got none of the attention to my empty chips, empty salsa, and empty soda that I would have liked. Well, there it is - BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN WINDSOR. I've been living here for 10 years and tried them all: Estrella's, Lupe's, Martin's, Diana's, Faralito, etc. I consider myself a critic, yes. I grew up in Los Angeles, lived in the south bay, and traveled to the Mission District often. I love Mexican food (check out my other reviews). I've been a big fan of Mi Pueblo, Petaluma for many years. They are consistent, fresh and decently priced. The quality of meat is consistently good, their salsa is delicious and fresh and there are many varieties. For my first foray into their Windsor establishment I had an Al Pastor regular burrito, chicken enchilada plate, and a chile relleno ($21 OTD). All were excellent for any Sonoma County Mexican fare and simply tops for Windsor. I got it all to-go, service was fast and the establishment was clean and nice. They also used paper plates, foil and the salsa containers were recyclable - PROPS to them! The location was really tucked away near the Post Office in Lakewood Village. I hope the word gets around and they do well because in my estimation they deserve it! Welcome to Windsor...finally! read more

Ok. So I came back here to give this place a second chance and I am so glad that I did!! I have to say the food was amazing and the service was perfect. The restaurant is so nice and clean and bright compared to the restaurant that was there years before. They did a great job on the remodel. The salsa bar is on point! The salsas are all so delicious and I love the variety of salsas. There is an orange salsa, I'm assuming habanero, it's a must try!! That salsa is absolutely amazing and not too hot!! Our dishes were all so good and you defiantly get your money's worth. The portions are huge. They also make this vinegar based slaw that is served on the side of each dish, it too is amazing!! They have a huge menu, so you can try a new dish for quite sometime before you've tasted the entire menu. This restaurant is a great new addition to Windsor!! Can't wait to go back! read more
